You are not the only one to be inspired by the music from Band-Maid. There a number of older musician who do rections, who haven't played seriously for 20-30 years- have picked up their instruments again and started to create music again. Because of Akane I recently started to play drums for the first time.

Me too, bless you Akane 👍

That's really great to hear that some musicians got inspired to pick up their instruments too!

I started learning guitar last year at age 30 inspired by Miku.

I'm one of them, previously Played Bass & some rhythm guitar in the 90s and early 2000s and hadn't touched an instrument in 15yrs until I discovered BM during lockdown of 2020 and was inspired to pick up and start playing again.

I stopped playing drums more than ten years ago. Then I discovered BAND-MAID, and Akane's playing (and her happiness doing it) is driving me to move to a bigger appartment and get a new drum set.
And Kanami is driving me to borrow an electric guitar from a friend, starting at zero. I think I've never been as motivated to play instruments as I am now.
Sounds like the script of a scam commercial, but it's true for me.

Band Maid are celebrating ten years together next year. They are something special. Be it instrumental or great rock songs. They have never stood still and the music evolves all the time. Band Maid is a phenomena in any language.

    •  2 года назад +11

I think that's a really cool sign of a band. Looking forward what they're coming up with their anniversary.

The biggest Kanami (lead guitar and composer) evolution those recent years is that she thinks now as a composer/arranger much more than as a guitarplayer. She has symphonies in her head I think.

    •  2 года назад +3

Oh, that's interesting! I think I'll take another look at her work to get to know better how she composes and arranges music.

Nice reaction! With Band Maid....composition will always trump technical wizardy. They really don't do stuff to self indulge. This song feels like it could be part of a movie score. They have 3 other instrumentals Onset, Without Holding Back and Don't Be Long.

Christmas came a month early this year when the ladies decided to release this music video. 🎅🏻 I knew it already from the Blu-ray that came with the album, but this song, this video, in my opinion, has to be heard and seen by everyone out there who has a heart for this genre. If there are any doubts about the talent of these ladies and who are the undisputed queens of the rock genre, I hope they will be erased after this. 🔥🤘🏻

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it! Just wanted to hear what my viewers think about me using Finnish or English and what they prefer. Having subs usually adds few more hours to editing and at the moment I'm not having a lot of time.

Love their instrumentals and like all their songs, it takes listening to at least 5X before you "Get It".
When asked what they have planned for their 10 year anniversary, Miku said they never thought they would make it to 10 years!! So she didn't know yet.
The US tour was very successful, there are fan-cams of them that pretty good. They'll give you an idea of the their live performances and interaction with the audiences. Miku time is always fun.
Last thing, Kanami does all the guitar work for the recording, teaching Miku after for their live performances. After-all Miku has lyrics to write, be Spoke's Pigeon, be Cluppo and win poker tournaments.
Your reaction is what I expect a musician to have. "How did they do that" and "I got to try that". Have fun!!

    •  2 года назад +5

Excellent work!!. Band Maid's instrumental songs are a classic (they've released four so far, but they've written a few more). Although it all starts with Kanami's creative instinct, the girls' way of writing is very collaborative (MISA composes their lines entirely and Akane arranges hers) so each instrument contributes its part and improves the final result. It is like in classical music quartets, the composition uses the instruments as creative elements to express beauty and emotion. That is what Kanami (also a fantastic pianist) projects in each of her works.

    •  2 года назад +2

Thank you very much! I think that collaborative element makes it sound more unique.

Looking forward to create another reaction video to their live performances soon and discover how they sound live. I witnessed this song performed in Tokyo as 12th song in the setlist and Band-Maid played it in 12 out of 13 US concerts as 8th to 11th. Most of the audience at those venues had of course already known their skills and talents. When I heard that they played this instrumental piece as opening at Saitama Super Arena on Nov.6 as support to Guns N' Roses (like they did at Aftershock), I felt very proud of them. Yeah! they showed off their skills and talents to GNR fans who did not know who the girls in maid outfit on the stage were. I felt as if I heard them screaming "Hey guys! Listen to us and open your eyes wide! We are not the persons that you think ! Salute us!" 😄 Thanks from B-M's homeland 有難う💛

    •  2 года назад +1

I bet this song sounded amazing once they played it live! Definitely trying to find a clip to see how they've performed and checking them out once they're touring in Europe next time. I'm quite sure that it was a really good for the band to be as a supporting band for GNR.

Was that really, really, really, really, really good? Yes it is. The only negative is that it's too short. Kanami provides all the melody you'll need. They're like a slot machine on a Awesome day at the casino, BAND-MAID just keeps on giving. Check out my previous favorite BAND-MAID instrumental ONSET-LIVE. There are dozens of great songs to go. Isn't it nice when Europeans have better elocution, sentence structure and word knowledge that so many "native English-speaking" Americans. It makes me so proud! Tuomas Halopainen of "Nightwish" once used an English word that I had never seen before in the band's lyrics. I had no specific definition for the word (although context clues gave me a "feel" for it), so I looked it up. The word was both spelled and used correctly. In the immortal words of David Bowie (and Ian Hunter) "I felt so ashamed'.

Mmm...there is a good flow in the song.
Regarding language. It really depends on who your primary target audience is. If it is Finnish, the answer is given, as well as if it is international.
If your question includes things like advertising and sponsorship, etc., the answer is not as clear. Being a big RUclipsr in Finland can have its advantages. Language barriers are solved, as many have answered, through good English subtitles. Whether speaking Finnish internationally is an advantage, standing out a bit from other Yotubers, only time will tell.
Sorry for the long answer, but your question is actually a bit complicated.
In the long run, the most important thing is that you don't pretend, but be yourself. I hope so anyway, maybe a little naively.

    •  2 года назад

Thank you very much! I really appreciate it! I think using Finnish language may position myself as unique RUclipsr but at the same time I think it could work against me because sometimes clicking the subtitles on may be a but too much. I want to capture the most authentic version of me for everything I create so I think I'll just see how it works with these reaction videos if I just keep creating some of them in English too and see what's the feedback about them.

    • @jagjag3236
      @jagjag3236 2 года назад

It will probably be alright. Most importantly, you feel it's right. I remember a newspaper that invested a lot of money in a big survey about what kind of newspaper the target audience wanted.
With it as a basis, the magazine was made, and launched big. After 3 editions it was discontinued at a huge loss.
In other words, the target group usually does not know what it wants until it has experienced something new.

Band-Maid is amazing. Kanami is always great, but this is nowhere near her best stuff (which is saying something).
As far as your channel is concerned, I think English is the way to go. There is a much larger population of English speakers and listeners than there are Finnish across the world. A larger population means more traffic to your channel. More traffic means more views, more subs, more donations, and more store customers.

      Thank you!
Yeah, I totally agree. Seems that it's a lot easier to communicate with that language and at the same time it's less work for making the videos with subs. I've done the latest reactions in English and that seems to work really well.

@ It might be more work, but I think it will pay off in the long run. Whatever the case, I hope everything works out for you. I like it so far.
