What an awesome band! Of course, with Steve Gadd you know he's gonna play great before he even counts the tune off. With Michael Landau - yeah, I knew he was great - but no way was I expecting the tour-de-force he pulls off here! I really like how he can show off influences without having to "copy licks" - Cornell Dupree when he's comping, Jeff Beck when he grabs the bar. That solo goes everywhere, but it still feels unified to me. Love it!
Have listened to a lot of great drummers but I have a hard time placing any of them above Steve Gadd.ever since I heard him on a Bob James album on wax nonetheless back in the 70's
