Yikes, spent almost an hour trying to put the gasket around the thermostat plate, but it won't slip off so i decided to put it on the Housing and then put the thermostat into engine and then join the housing to engine then tightened the bolts and it work and after several hours i come across your video and confirm i did it correct 😅
I cannot locate that groove for the thermostat triangle point on the housing on my Santa Fe Sport 2014. So, I just make sure that air vent. hole is on the top. As a result, looks like the coolant is leaking into the engine before the thermostat is opened and the engine is not reaching the operating temperature.

Fast and straight to the point, saved alot of time by just doing it and showing how it's done 👍

Did you use OEM or the one that is recommended in this video. How did it fit? No leaking?

Great video. Very helpful. Thank you.
Not sure why Hyundai makes the thermostat housing plastic. Do you see issues with it cracking?
Costs savings, haven't seen any problems with cracking.
@@MrRangerZr1 doesn't the gasket go around the edge of the tstat? I could be wrong tho
Mine cracked
Thank you for the video 👍
that a bit of coolant that came out did you drain the coolant?? or just opened the thermostat housing??
Coolant will spill out regardless
Always the best
Do you flush coolant ? If so after taking thermostat off or before ?
No flushing needed
How do you bleed the coolant ?
I have a video on my channel
