- Hi everyone. I got this little grass trimmer off of Amazon. I wanted to have something for my child to start out on. He's at that age were he can start doing yard work. That's what you have kids for, right?
This is pretty easy to put together and works as it should. The plastic blade and the metal blades work really well. The saw blade works but I wouldn't use it on this machine for that purpose. I'm going to stick with the plastic blades for my kid.
It's battery operated so don't have to worry about gas.
Thanks for watching.

This is how a RUclips video should be made. Tells you how to put it together as well as operating. 5 ⭐️.
Thanks.
Instructions were useless. So thankful for the great job you did with this video. You not only showed clearly what you were doing, described it well, and tried everything out, but also kept the video moving along. That takes talent! Thank you!
Thanks.
@@NicholsCountyThankyou so much, I had no idea how to put this together
Thank you so much. I just got mine yesterday. The instructions were too little to use. So as they say a picture is worth a thousand words. So your video was worth ten thousand.
Glad I could help!
Finally someone who "shows" as well as "tells" what's going on when unboxing these zillion - piece weed eater video tutorials! There are dozens of pieces that come with no instructions! 😩Kudos for explaining the recommended usage of the various blades!!
Thanks.
I think it is so nice of you to still answer questions now when you made the video a year ago. I have just ordered mine but without the wheels it is due to arrive on Thursday I will come back and re watch your video. Thank you again I now have a better Idea on putting it together. Cheers from the UK
Glad I could help!
This has really helped me. Thank you so much for taking the time to demonstrate what the different blades do, and how to attach them.
Glad it was helpful!
I had one last year, it broke nothing to do with actual machine... but it worked so well last year i bought another. Can't go wrong with the price if u .. if you have a small lawn or what-not..and if you have body pains, this is amazing.
I literallyhad to watch this video to put mine together! My instructions sucked. So thank u!!!!
Thanks for sharing.
Building right alongside you :) Pausing as I build. I am so grateful for your instructions!
Thanks.
Thank you sooo much for these step by step tutorials on putting this product together… I just got one TODAY… and oh how I struggled (laughing) but you really helped me … THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for making this video straight to point with everything I needed to know without all the fluff. I am in a wheelchair and used to love working in the yard. I got an electric wheelchair and one of these 3 in 1 grass trimmers. I used it to mow-trim bushes and sawed some branches, I love it!
Great! Thank you for sharing. I'm glad this is working well for you.
It's great for 74 year old lady who can't even start son-in-law's big gas weed whacker. I was really amazed at how long the battery lasted, a lot longer than me! Haven't used the big blade yet, but got it for trying to cut bamboo that is taking over.
Thanks for sharing!
Excellent instruction, paperwork that came with mine was a waste of time but this was superb, easy to follow and took no time, thank you sir nice one !
Just got mine today and this was very informative. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
THANK YOU! I was struggling so hard with these "instructions" it came with. (I need more pictures than they provided!)
I understand.
Great job i needed to put it together and your demo was great
Thanks.
Thank you .. the wheel tightening trick at the beginning was brilliant!! So helpful
Great. Thanks.
I see you spinner that black guard around because your toes would be suspect to that blade! As I was putting mine together and following this, I was like wait, that is backward so good catch on my side, lol! I appreciate the instructions!
Thanks for the video. The instructions were vague and hard to follow. This helped immensely.
Glad it helped.
Thank you for this great tutorial! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
You're welcome.
Thank you sooo much...my instructions were not in english...but I figured out how to put it together. Thanks for trying each blade...that was awesome!😁👍
Great. Glad it helped you out.
buy a battery push mower and use this only on the left overs you'll love it
Great, thanks for the tip!
The wheels and the wire bracket are best placed in the garbage can, the rest is quite useful ; )
Nice tip. Thanks.
@@NicholsCounty You're much faster with freehand panning, and tall grass is best cut in multiple stages from top to bottom.. The wheels just get in the way.
Greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪 Fantastic informative video. I've got one coming and I can't wait. Thanks for uploading this great video! 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks your vid on installation was so helpful 👍
Glad it helped
thank you for making this!! i bought one. never used this type of garden tool before, so great-full to find assembly demonstration.
You're welcome
Thankyou.Im actually wanting to know which attachments to use as an edge trimmer please. So grateful watching this on utube ❤
String usually
great Testing video hope everyone learns how to show things when they try.
Thank you!
I bought it and I like it
Awesome.
Just what I needed. Thank you.
You're welcome.
Cool machine.
Yeah it's okay.
Thankyou so much for the video. Trying to get this put together for my Mum and not feeling confident about the useless instructions that's all over the place. I like the whipper snipping use you demonstrated at the end, gonna give that a try. Cheers mate! 🍺
Glad it was helpful!
You did an awesome job!
Thank you so much!
Looks like something to support not replace a lawnmower
Who said anything about replace a lawnmower?
Great job !! Thanks for sharing! I got one exactly same !! So helpful !!!❤️😄
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much. Wasn’t doing well with included instructions. One problem was pictures of multiple black parts in pics so you couldn’t really see what’s what. Your video made short work of assembly. And tips on what to use for what. Again thanks!
They all cut about the same. I did have some left over black parts, not 100% sure what they're used for. This is really only good for cutting grass and some weeds.
Appreciate the video. I'm a dummy and was lost. You made it simple. Thx bro!
Glad it helped
That was so helpful. Was panicking how I was going to put that together
Glad I could help
Well done. Very useful Thank you.
Thanks for watching.
Just got one in yesterday will be trying it out this weekend. Ty for the video
Hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for taking your time to give the instruction. The instructions in the box were the worst instructions ever! It didn't help me. Yours was great! Thank you once again.
You're welcome.
I think your right if you have a little helper, this be perfect but for an adult it's definitely under powered
Yeah definitely
Enough to discourage them out of a career in landscaping.
Just got it now and putting it together.
Let me know how it goes.
@@NicholsCounty I will use it tomorrow.
I think the larger cover (black one) is for the weed whacker, and the small cover is for the mower part.
Yeah
Thanks a million. You made puttingvi1t together quite easy and a great demonstration of its working.
Glad it helped
Got mine today, grateful for your instructions, as the ones that came with were aweful!
Great. Thanks.
I was about to comment you put the shield on backwards but when you used it you fixed it. 😁👍🏻
Yeah. Figured it out. Should of explained that better in the video
thanks this really saved us
Glad I could help.
Good job,
I just got one but the wheels are made different and it only came with the orange grass shield....debating on whether to send it back or not...
Try it out. See if you can use it
Thanks! I do think you should leave the guard on when using as a weed whacker and no wheels.
That's up to you. I generally take the guard off of all my weed whackers.
Thank you!
I have yet to see a demo vid of someone edging with this style of rolling trimmer. Also, the plastic blades seem to cut better. Is it possible to buy replacement blades?
For this reason I am leaning towards the Worx 2-in-1 string trimmer $125. I was considering the 3-in-1 $135, that includes a 4-wheeled mower deck but I think they discontinued that attachment.
Yes you can buy new blades on amazon. I wouldn't edge with this, not sure if it could handle the dirt.
Thank you!! The instructions weren’t enough for me!
Glad I could help!
Thank you I was about to close the box and return it as it arrived. I was overwhelmed by all the nuts and pieces and the lack of clear explanations. Thank God there is youtube and you.
You're welcome
Thank you for this. I did manage to put mine together before I found your video, but it was very informative. I already have corded lawn gear, but I wanted to be able to work on grass when not completed dry - just to take the tops off some of the lankier leaves. Do you manage to achieve a 30 minute strim on one charge?
I never used it more than 30 mins. But there are 2 batteries so one can be charging while using the other.
Thank you. Very helpful video.@@NicholsCounty
Do you think this product would be good for a full front and back lawn. Would you recommend this to someone who hasnt mow the lawn before? Also how long dose a full charge last
No. Best for kids or older people. Not sure on the charge. Havent tested that out.
Thanks a bunch!
You're welcome!
Just got mine in the mail today cant wait to check it out
Let me know how it goes!
@@NicholsCounty Its so easy to use i am happy with it😊Thanks
Does anyone know how long it lasts on the larger (3AH, not shown in this video) battery? I will be using the metal chipsaw blade.
Great tip.
Isnt that large like circular saw blade for doing edges? Says thats 1 of the 3 in 1 things it does
You can use any of the blades for edging. It's just a heavier blade.
I've just purchased this in Australia i probably won't use the wheels which blades are the best for line and edge trimming
String if youre edging into the dirt.
I wonder if it can be used to trim the top of hedges.
I don't think it's powerful enough to get the branches, maybe just the leaves.
the black cover up you say you turn it stays it does not hold.....it can turn on itself and there is a hole but no screw added in the box
Not sure. I didn't have any issues
Same here. I used a #6 bolt and locknut to go through after lining the holes up.
It comes with the small protection guard.
Probably when used w/o wheels.
Yeah, you don't really need it.
@@NicholsCounty My question as well. Thanks for the answer.
Im finna use mines today
Great.
Does anyone know what size hexnut fastens the blade? Mine was missing the hexnut and I can’t seem to find one that fits. The closest size I’ve found is 10-32 it’s a tad bit too small
Sorry, figured someone would answer this by now. Mine is packed away, shop cleaning. Just take the whole thing to a hardware store, let the professionals do the work.
Now that you e had if several years are you still happy with it? I’m in the country and have some tenacious grass that the string trimmer can’t cut. Wondering if this will. Thank you. Instructions are very clear.
Yeah, I mean it's more for my kid. But that blade will cut big grass.
Thanks for this, the instructions were kinda small. This helps.
Glad it helped
thanks so much! The paper instructions were small and terrible. You should do these videos for a living. :)
That'd be nice, wouldn't it.
Thank you, I couldn't work out how to add the wheels haha.
You figure it out?
@@NicholsCounty Yes thanks so much.
Cool weedeater. Good video.
Thanks.
Thanku so much for the help .
Not sure why instruction manuals r so poor.
Thanks!
🙏✨
Generally, they're written by someone whose first language isn't English.
@@NicholsCountyand I do agree with you, and if you look at Amazon, the same basic trimmer is “made” by lots of other company names, though I am sure it’s just one or two. But the instructions are the same. Broken English and words that are not correct. It would make their product “BETTER” in our minds if they just had someone who actually can write English for understanding. I was totally perplexed trying to understand the directions. So I figured it out but I little thing with the alignment screw wasn’t working.
So I came to RUclips. Watched this video and 4 other similar ones. Different names but all worked the same way.
I have a 3' piece of malleable plastic that is wound in a hoop but have no idea what it is. Any clue?
Not sur what you're talking about.
That is fairly decent
It's good for what it is.
Where do you plug the charger in?
The battery
What is that extra orange piece that you didn't put on?
It's just a different guard.
Thank you.
@@itgirl8469 for using it without wheels
I will recomend to buy the version without the wheels, just with this guard. Its faster working without wheels and tall grass is better cut down in steps. The wheels just disturb and lift the price for nothing.
I still can’t understand how to put it together even with the video. How do you get the wheels on tight?
You figure it out?
Keep your finger on the nut and turn the orange wheel on the outside of the tire. I had trouble with that one too.
Does that strimmer take blades with a 2cm hole?
I'm not sure. I'm sure you can ask a question on Amazon and someone who knows will answer.
Thank you for making this review! Getting mine in the mail today 🤗
Hope you like it!
Where do you get replacement blades???
I haven't had to replace the blades, but if you reach out to the manufacture I'm sure they'll gladly sell you some.
plugged in the battery into the charger and its not charging...am i doing something wrong
Try a different outlet.
If this is the same model thats sold everywhere under a zillion different brand names then check your batterys, they might be makita clones, if so then a genuine makita battery will make this unit work much better, the batteries they supply with these units are complete junk, An actual makita battery would have probably twice as much grunt.. The cells used in these knockoff batteries are just about the lowest grade you can get..
Great tip.
Does the battery have a charge indicator?
No.
Yeah, the only indicator seems to be on the charger itself
Thank you. That was a question I had.
Not on the battery. It’s on the charger that gets plugged into the wall.
I did get one and it works great.
Is it sturdy enough to last a few seasons?
It's a beginners model, but as long as you don't beat it up it, will do fine.
Yes i was doing a lot so far and it still lasts. There are also replacement motors arround meanwile, for about 10 bugs. All other replacement parts are also available. Here in Thailand this weed eater is quite common and sells good for home owners with a little lawn and garden. I have quite big gardens and lawns. I do not all together, just a few days for fun in a raw and all is done, i am allways surprises how much i reached with this litte thing : D
How do you get the screw off….to change blade….it is locked in
Use the tool that came with it
Yeah, there is a tool for this.
Interesting how and why blade doesn't cut grass! Lol
What's that
I"m assembling the 36V version green in color. I got straight metal blades, curved metal blades and a 2 blocks with wire in place of the plastic one you show. So 5 metal blades including the saw and two wire string blocks. It also has two different size blade guards one green and one black depending on the blades you use. Safety glasses and gloves. Other than that I'm hoping that the higher voltage will give it more power and be less likely to stall. I think it was under a hundred bucks. I got it prime next day delivery.
Nice. This one is a little weak. But works well for easy weeds.
Do you like it?
What's the verdict on the 36V version?
Wow this machine is punchier than it looks. My overgrown garden is getting reduced to nothing with very little effort. Im not using the guard or wheels though. Just the curclular blade.
It's pretty stout for it's size.
Good review but you put the plastic guard on wrong way ?
Yeah I know. It gets fixed later in the video.
I thought it was a bad idea using it without the guard plate on.
That spinning blade can launch stones and debris at hundreds of miles an hour and you've got bare ankles! Entertaining video though, thanks. 👍
Ha. Hundreds of miles.
Slightly overdramatic. Just slightly.
Half circle plastic blade guard should be towards user's foot, thus half of the blade is visible at front.
Yeah, that was fixed later in the video.
ThT long grass would be better handled by the weed wicker portion of the machine.
Yep, I'm just showing people what it can do. Thanks.
How much is that I need one
Not sure, but there is a link in the description.
PLEASE someone tell me where the port is to charge the batteries??????
It's on top of the battery in the center.
Sorry but how dangerous was the last bit no guard at all ? He had to and was right for the lawn but not for the edging. Should of looked at instructions
Dangerous? This isn't dangerous at all. Just pay attention to what you're doing and you'll be fine.
Not bad, I pick mine up for $52.98
Great.
Using metal blades without the guard can really mess you up?!
Yeah I'm sure.
What do U mean ?!
kids toy
Agreed.
Thank you……
You're welcome
Your video is the best video. I received mine without a very descriptive manual which is a pet peeve of mine due to safety...so I will let the company I ordered from know because the 2 videos they sent to me are terrible. Thank you, I have a jungle but was hoping I could use this besides my heavy bladesaw weedeater/gas powered and it is my first electric yard maintenance tool along with a recently purchased Oregon electric chainsaw. I still have my gas chainsaw but do not like the oil gas part.
I still am looking for a slower breakdown of attaching the different blades...I have no shows for so many jobs that I'm having to learn to assemble new tools and want to be sure I'm doing it safely and correctly.
Yeah it's definitely not going to be as strong as gas machine, but it works pretty well for what it is.
