Purchased an EGO, when it arrived the package was missing the warrantee info and all paperwork, (Bad quality control.)called EGO because I was missing the screw and nut that hold the unit together, 2 1/2 hr's on the phone, had to leave a call back number., finally talked to service department, let them know all I need is the missing screw and nut so I can use the EGO. Rep wanted to know how much I paid for the EGO and the model number. Then he said I need to send them a copy of the receipt showing the purchased price, a copy of where I purchased and a picture of the item and the warrantee info. I explained all I need is the screw and nut that holds the unit together do I really have to do all this for something that cost less than a dollar. He replied do it or send it back and hung up. Unit sent back for a refund. This was a deal breaker for me. Looking for American made with a company that will honor their product.

Stihl has two models. One a homeowner model and one a lawn service model. Where are they?

I think a couple big selling points was missing? What about how to load the trimmer line? And do you bump to feed, or is it automatic? And I wouldn't consider wearing open foot flip flops while trimming 😳. I will probably buy the DeWalt mainly because I already have several other DeWalt tools, batteries and charger. I think that's how they get you. But I also want a blower so I'm going to keep looking for the best for both applications. Thank you

And you should NEVER wear shorts while weed-wacking either.

I use EGO for everything!! Except my WORX trimmer. I'm 6'4". The height is just fine. The parts are inexpensive and durable. The wheels for edging and the push button line feed puts it over the top.

No review of the Husqvarna battery line?

Ego is terrific, but Ace Hardware's no return policy is an absolute deal breaker. Wish they worked with other resellers.

Showing the ryobi pictures of two different models. Found the ryobi 40v 16 inch with interchangeable carbon shaft and brushless motor, for $200, normally $280. It was mixed in with their $159 trimmers that were on sale, so salesman gave. 🎉 me for the $159 sales price. I did not realize until i got home that it was the $200 trimmer. i thought it was the trimmer that was on sale for $159. I almost took it back because i didn't need the interchangeable head, but I thought i would try it out, it has two. Speeds on low it fast and last for around 45 to 60 min on high the thing is a beast, also comes with a seperate brush head with plastic blades. They say it is equivalent to a 27cc gas motor, on low it about the same as my old gas trimmer but on high it is a lot stonger. I decided to keep it because i can take it apart easily and put in my trunk, so i can weedeat parents yard and not have to worry about gass fumes in the car.

You showed multiple different models of the EGO, at least one that can be folded in half for storage (I have that model), then you said the EGO is not collapsible. ?

Thank you for this review!! It’s overwhelming with all of the different option. I went with the Ego and it works great and gets the job done. It is very durable and has great battery life. I ended up getting the blower as well.

Honestly having batteries for one type kinda makes u go with that brand. But realizing Walmarts Hart 40v is made by same ppl that make Ryobi. Swear thwres a video or two on it. From front to back its the sane

Black and Decker is owned by Dewalt. In other words, it is a Dewalt with half or less of the value and reliability of a Dewalt.

Ryobi has a long history of building crap tools that fall apart with heavy use but hey, they are cheap.

I've been using ryobi for years , half the price of Dewalt 1/3 the price of Milwaukee fuel. Yes sometimes they don't have all the best features, but I have had very little problem with them and for the price I can buy a new one if they break. I have a trim router I purchased in 1999, used everyday building countertops for 10 years and i still have it today
