The telemetry is amazing.. I had no idea they entered the corners with the throttle pinned... whew.. A lot different than getting a drag hydro to turn after a run..

Growing up on the Columbia River, we always knew the current was strong, but I had no idea it was worth an extra 3 to 4 miles per hour coming down vs. going back up. I've been fascinated with Unlimited Hydroplanes from the first time I heard the roar of the Allison engines from my parents' home as a child. Our house was walking distance from the Lagoon and Columbia Park so as a kid, the second I heard a boat on the water I was on my bike and glued to the river. I was also lucky enough to experience the "hay-day" of the Atomic/Columbia Cup race weekends from the early 70's through the mid-80's. Sorry kids, you have no idea what a PARTY it was down in Columbia Park on "boat race weekend".

Did Goodman build the boat that Tate won the title with a few yrs back?
No - that was the U-9, built in 1992.
This is going to be the boat to beat . I see another championship and another Gold Cup coming for this team. Just keep the pretty side up
