I met these gentlemen at the KW poker run several years ago. Total class acts and were quick to show me much of the custom work they had done to the boat. Not only is it an incredibly beautiful boat, but the work they have done is top notch! Well deserved gentlemen!!! And great job with this SOTW!!!
I absolutley love how these guys have every single thing dialed in and are still having the same problems as every boater, a broken boat. My favorite line by far is "If it could just work".
Congratulations to the factory billet team! Amazing boat and I am so happy to see it all come together. Thank you SOTW for putting another great video together for us.
That was an awesome video. It makes you feel grateful for the things we take for granted. Awesome boat for an awesome guy built by some awesome people! Congratulations on your new boat! Have fun and enjoy! For the guys a W&W, good job, and keep up the good work!
Have you any idea how far apart 184 and 200 is in this case? The power needed alone + the setup of the boat for that increase is massive. They beat the previous record by less than 4 mph with all this work, and you think an additional 16 mph is coming soon?
That's a hard one.. 184 if fast lol.. I know they said they were taking it home and not changing a thing. Would be awesome to see 190 taken. @@speedonthewater
A few years ago i got a ride in a 46' Outerlimits with modified 1075's. Went for a short ride and while heading back in another passenger said we didn't hit 100 mph! Owner went out again and with no effort hit 117 mph with more throttle left. SMOOTH and very little drama. When the boat left the factory years ago the claimed speed with stock 1075's was 127mph. WIth the modified engines the boat should do 135 + Outerlimits has a great running hull. Another friend had a 41 Outerlimits with twin 700 Mercruisers with #6 drives that went 112 mph +.
Wow, beautiful boat, luv the sound of those engines..Many congrats on the team effort, gotta luv Mikes get-er-done attitude, especially when a complex part breaks and a simple fix ( although unorthodox), gets its done, at least temporarily…and your far away from your choice of spare parts, sometimes that hardware store stuff can be the difference of success or failure….not the optimal… but it gets-er-done….
Incredible! I used to own a Formula 382 Fastech, and when you're running boats of this size, it's ridiculous how much power it takes to push past the 100MPH mark, let alone scratching 200. Insane performance!
We have a 340 MTI and absolutely love it. While I’ve hit a genuine 210+ on both a bike and a car, I can’t,imagine going much faster than 140-150 on a boat. I can only hope someday I get the chance, looks like so much fun.
Well this is fun.... I am one of the fortunate that have been 160+.. But... that was with Kurtis 500 with gobs of drag boat engine power.. Not even in the same class as a V bottom running this fast... Congrats that is pretty amazing... Have thrashed on Turbo boats a few times... what a blast they are when they step up on the power curve...
Late to the party, but congrats. And I’m really happy to see the humbleness and appreciation these guys have for this achievement. Class act. Keep doing what you are doing. So glad that OL and Billet does not go about this like Reggie Fountain. Keep it real and stay safe🙌🏼
Somebody said 200 is coming soon. The boat needs more power for 200. Either put a third 1650/1950 in it or change out to twin Steve Morris 2500-3000hp engines. I would like to see what Morris can do in Factory Billet with a set of his twins.
Most people don't understand how hard it is to hit even 100mph on water, but 182mph? Absolute insanity! Wow, that thing is one bad unit, awesome stuff.
I met Mike Fiori and his mom at marathon boat race at the late 80s or 90s. I think he was driving a panther boat which I think was a hustler. My brother-in-law worked for him building his first out limits. Pretty sure Long Island.
Now you guys better bring a case of beer back to that little country hardware store, and thank them for the lucky clamps and screws. 😅😅😅😅😅 Congratulations gang. That's team work!!
Yeah, that race has always amazed me. Every other Motorsport event going on these days is like how can we take away every single dangerous aspect and neuter the cars to an extent, the TT, NOPE. They’re absolutely like “Yeah so we’re doing this the same way we always have, if the bikes are quicker now, well I guess we’re gonna have some fast lap times.” 🤷🏽♂️😂
TurboSmart makes a great little hose clamp for pesky waste gate lines. A dab of Blue 242, that’s all it takes. We run 6.60s at 210 mph in a pretty heavy car 😊
Loved the video and fully welcome more like it! Factory Billet is certainly a class act; reminds me of Tom Nelson who mentioned to me that he first started with offshore engines. You could see it pulling HARD crossing the beginning of the course; looked like they were going to post an impressive number from the beginning. Hell of a run and certainly motovation to go number chasing since the Kilo record is wellll within their grasp. One thing I’m curious about is, do they X-ray or image check the props after an event? I think that’d be part of my post run safety and data collection.
** nope ---> 177 max and 171 avg 2 way on kilo back in 2004 but not 3/4 top speed shootout which is still obtainable by Fountain though - I agree to that. GOD Bless
If corvettes were boats the owners would be the exact same.. still badass I love it! closest I’ve ever gotten to this feeling is in a Baja we grew up in as kids and I’m sure that wasn’t even close lol
I made valves with inconel core and the inconel portion has a .02 pentagon i.d. on valve stem portion , then 2 other exotic metals used on the valve. Capable of lasting in a top fuel dragster engine a full season but no one cares to try them as they think its bs. People do not even know there is a 90ft powerboat the billionaire friend machined mold to in 2022 and this mofo has 3 4000hp turbines . Its purpose is to run over 150mph through a haulover chop to ocean which will happen this summer in miami Fl . The seats to boat are bad ass with 4 feet of suspension travel total (2ft up ,2ft down) and axial up too +/- 30 degrees of axial suspension . Safe for a front end stuff at 150mph on back injury prevention tested so far in seat suspension test center in certain location.
60mph in a boat is fast.100mph is like hyper fast and fastest I’ve ever been was in a 21 ft shockwave with a supercharged 502 HO merc in Laughlin and went 116mph and thought I was going speed of light!!!!so so fun!!

Thank you! Class acts for sure and great to see someone push the limits in our industry. Appreciate your feedback and comment!
I had that record 30 + years ago. Congratulations
That’s awesome. Out of curiosity... what was that number? I love seeing how different records relate over time
I ran the fountain boat Ohio Steel from 1990 to 1996. Reggie Fountain and I ran 126.71 mph
No Way! That's so cool. I remember seeing that boat and records in magazines as a kid. Famous boat. @@ericrebhan8041
@@ericrebhan8041my cousin had a Fountain express cruiser. Crazy fast and smooth boat with the stepped hull.

Although I’m a fountain guy I gotta respect the passion and commitment. Great job
This boat is perfection on the water of both engineering, build quality, and art.
Absolutely beautiful boat guys. A great marvel of technology to get a V bottom to go that speed. The tow rig is awesome as well.
Gives new meaning to Outerlimits phrase "Live Fast" great job!! Congrats!!!
Yes it does!
The sound from inside the cabin is amazing, quite a few systems running and you really hear them working! Great job!
Success = Hard Work, Dedication, and money. Great video.
Congratulations to the factory billet team! Amazing boat and I am so happy to see it all come together. Thank you SOTW for putting another great video together for us.
Our pleasure!
Truely insane number. Congrats

Impressive, very very fast boat ! Congratulations from TAHITI, French Polynesia.
From the UK, awesome achievement and engineering brilliance. I would just love to get my hands on the towing rig let alone the boat!
truly incredible achievement, you guys @ factory billet are an inspiration to the entire motorsport and watersport world.
The production and content in this video are your best yet.
Thank you!
Awesome video! This is one of my absolute favorite boats to watch every year!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Well done gentleman, and congratulations
I smell 200 mph coming soon….

Absolutely stunning!
Congratulations guys
I was even cheering when they say 184! That’s awesome!
WOW. I had chills as 184 was announced. Incredible job by a great team. Stay safe gents.
What a journey! I could feel the excitement and success is always nice icing on the cake. Congratulations!
Amazing work guys.. Look forward to next year and even faster!
Us too! What speed do you think they'll get on the next run??

Spectacular! I will be looking forward to the next run.
Come on Reggie you gotta try
Absolutely amazing! Congrats for the Team!

My compliments Mike, you got got this one!
Mike has great knowledge of motors, he flew out to tune our sand car and did a great job.

M- F is moving ! I raced speed boat's year's ago ! 23ft with 427 full blown rat motor - nitrous ! I love this !

Remember Gino's run against "Cat Killer"?? I don't remember Fountain's speed(172?) but Gino went 193 in his 2x1550hp 44MTI.

Thanks! We'll keep them coming!
82mph on calibrated timing is the fastest I've been, I CAN NOT IMMAGINE adding 102mph to that. Some engineers and builders in this assembled group.
Agreed.. I've been 112 in a 21' (or 23', can't remember) Team Shadow w/ twin 2.5's and I thought we were darn near flying.. This is next level.
I've been 114 in an American Offshore 3100 cat. Awesome ride!!
quit yappin and just run the boat
YOU GUYS ROCK, HELLL YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BABY
I was building Tunnel Hulls in the 80' s when people didnt know what they were or capable of. It was hard to sell them back then. Godd job.
What are the advantages ofthe asymmetrical tunnel hull designs?

i reckon with a few more tweaks to engine your team might squeeze the 200mph mark out of this v bottom before it flips over
Congratulations to both of you.

From what I can tell they didn't use those things, they brought it back and did better repairs to it, mechanical and tuning
The parts were definitely used 👌🏼

Here's an idea...call up Steve Morris Engines and let Steve up your power game with his SMX Billet engines. Makes 4500+ HP EACH.
Nice Boat!
The lower units can’t handle that much horsepower you’d need a straight shaft
Spoken like someone who has never owned a boat 😅
TurboSmart makes a great little hose clamp for pesky waste gate lines.
A dab of Blue 242, that’s all it takes.

like to have seen the onboard shots of this run

nice props. why don't you have a pad? it would seam to break friction? fly the boat!
Great video
What are the gear ratios in those lower units ?😏
Awesome just straight Awesome spectacular dammit man that boat was shitting and getting it
HEY!? SO WHAT PERSUADED WHOM! TO ADOPT THIS QUEST OF EXPRESSING THE MOTION OF WATER IN THE DYNAMICS OF THE BOAT'S DESIGN!!? [IT HAS A NICE LINE!!..
Kinda interesting, most record runs take the whole day and multiple runs to dial in the vehicle/boat just right.
