The King James is the best version to memorise , and it's not got thousands of words missing and doctrine tampered with.

You two have been a tremendous blessing to me. You have encouraged, inspired and helped me in so many ways as a mother. I found you 2 months ago as I was recovering from the birth of our 8th child. As a homeschool grad myself, I feel we have so much in common. I greatly appreciate the thoughtful way you approach life. Thank you for allowing God to use you to mentor and bless others!

We go to a classical Christian school that is absolutely wonderful, so wholesome and likeminded with values. The families we’ve met and friends we’ve made are such a gift like one big homeschool coop. So grateful! The leadership and teachers make all the difference with the tone they set and the kids they allow to enter. 🌻🩵

Actually the KJV is one of the weaker translations. There are numerous inaccuracies and inconsistencies throughout the text that do not accurately reflect the original Greek and Hebrew. Additionally, the manuscripts used for KJV do not date as far back as manuscripts that have been used in the newer translations such as ESV and NASB95. The latest LSB translation is good to use as well if one is seeking accurate translations.

This is so interesting, regarding Halloween. I grew up not knowing what that is at all in out country (Lithuania), but on November 1st we always had the what we call it “All Saint’s Day”. Where it is a Christian tradition and during which we remember our passed relatives, visit the cemetery, put the candles on and place last flowers before winter season. So I do not know much about the true origins of this Christian celebration, but to be honest, Halloween as such took some different turn here, was commercialised, placed on the big screens and took over the world.

If you’re able to think of or imagine scenarios that you would feel appropriate to share, id appreciate the odd worked example eg of how you respond to something that came up at the park, might seem obvious to you but id have no idea x

KJV is very hard to understand for me. I prefer NIV. For me, being able to understand what I'm reading is more important to me than beautiful prose.

Peers make a HUGE difference for kids and influence. I would warn that the same goes for teachers. Some "Christian" school teachers are great, but some are pretty far off base there as well. It happens all the time.

My twin boys are starting to not need an afternoon nap and it’s super hard. The problem I have with making them continue a quiet time regardless is that one of them may fall asleep and the other doesn’t and then their bedtime sleep gets thrown off. One will take almost an hour or two to fall asleep while the other will fall asleep right away.

This happened to me with my twins and we ended up putting them in rooms just for the nap/quiet time. They’d sleep together at night in their shared room. ❤

I send my kids to a private Christian school and the cool thing about that is that when kids are little they tell and ask parents everything. So if someone says or does something questionable, my kids always come to me and ask me what I think. This gives them experience with other views and perspective on things. The other day my 8 year old told me that two of her friends say ear piercing is a sin and I had a good opportunity to explain to her the biblical perspective. If you’re curious…the short answer is that, no ear piercing is not a sin. But I also try to explain to her to be respectful of other people’s opinions and beliefs and explained to her why they might believe that. You can’t keep kids in a bubble, sooner or later they will be exposed to the world and other beliefs. I prefer to do that in small steps and explain things to them as they come up, instead of things coming at them all at once and they are caught off guard and not prepared to deal with real life.

Wow it’s impressive how much socializing you guys get from church! We live in a small town and homeschool our kids ages 8 , 6,4,2 and have a newborn. Our kids play with other kids maybe once a month and don’t have family nearby. The churches here are small and don’t offer all the things it sounds like yours have .

I am so glad to hear that you use KJV, please don't try to apologize for it or minimize its use! Other versions leave out important doctrinal truths.
Also, we don't have children yet, but I like the idea of having quiet time in the afternoon regardless of naps😊

KJV is what I started with years ago and when ever I tried reading GOD’S word in other versions at least for me I couldn’t understand it which is vs versa for others… I love the detail and the language and the excitement I get when I come across words that I need to look up the meaning, you in my opinion don’t get that in the other versions. I guess I live under a rug because I never heard of the enneagram test, just the word alone would have deterred me from playing around with it. I also don’t have social media so that also could have been why I didn’t know anything about it till now…. Intimacy while going through postpartum is VERY important and just like Katie said there are ways to connect with your spouse intimately while still not having sex and it can be fun and a change in the normalcy of connecting sexually unless hanging from a chandelier is normal for you… Hahaha…

If you have doubts or insecurities with your homeschooling journey it's not too late to switch things up. I think that being with peers going through puberty or even just weird boy stages would be good for your kiddos. You can't shelter them from the world. They have to learn to interact and learn from different walks of life and it helps open up different topics and important lessons for your kiddos. It's christian private school, so it's alot different than public school or even catholic school. It has lots of like minded parents putting their kids through organized and planned out teaching and programming. I think if your heart isn't fully in homeschooling and you have a gut feeling that it isn't what you fully want or are capable there's no harm in admitting defeat and trying other options. We all have great expectations and sometimes reality isn't the same. Just wanted to put this out there if there's a side of you that isn't 100% on homeschooling and want to leave it in the hands of a team of professionals.

KJV is a great translation. But it’s not the only “true Bible”.. there are other true translations. Obviously some translations do leave things out & don’t translate from the original Greek/Hebrew word for word. But there is more than one translation that is word for word.

I have issue with King James changing the name of the book of Jacob to his own name, the book of James.
He also changed that the disciples celebrated Easter (which is culturally incorrect) when the Greek says they celebrated Passover. Unless you're reading straight from the greek and hebrew writings, no bible is perfect

🙌💯 % is KJV God preserved word for the English speaking people!! I call the other versions of bibles perversions cuz they are, the first thing they do is attack the deity of Christ, and leave out the blood of Jesus

@@deen8842 if they don’t all say the same thing
how can they both be the word of God ?
JKV and the NIV both have different wording so how can they both be from God. ?
If you speak English then the KJV is the word of God

Please look into the King James being the only true Bible more!
The devil has counterfeits for everything God does!
Gail Riplinger has some awesome books!! In Awe of Thy Word, New Age Bible Versions, etc.
the other versions don’t just leave out words but very important doctrine! They are copyrighted and written by man. The King James Bible is inspired and preserved by God!

I feel like you are willing and open to making your own path and trying new things that you haven't before but your husband seems like it's really just his way or the high way. You don't have to do things the exact same as your parents. You can bring your own pzazz to your family. Celebrate Halloween even if it's just dressing up at home and handing out candy to trick or treaters.
