Great report. I had a lot of fun traversing The Loop with you, following trails I knew from my childhood and now also from my work as a mountain guide. Greetings from Poland 🙂.
I enjoyed watching this video. You captured the essence of this hike very well. I appreciate seeing some of the accommodations and seeing what food and drink was available.
Thanks a lot! I just checked your channel, and getting such kind words from someone who really mastered presenting landscape and scenery is really motivating. Thank you!
Not going to the peak of Babia Góra was a wise decision, if the forecast was bad. Babia is known for difficult weather condidtions, even if it's ok in lower parts. Babia Góra has a title of the Moody Mountain or a Queen of Bad Weather ;)
Yeah I am quiet happy now we stayed inside. I saw many crazy storms while working on various mountain huts and I was always very happy to be inside and not put there 😅
Could you please tell how is the situation with wild animals like Wolves (poop was from a worlf right?) or even bears.. saying hello along the path?? Some dangers?
Hello Marat! For wild animal, you are never in an total wild area. The wildest is the National Park, even there zivilisation is not far away. In the Beskidy area live only few bears and wolfs and as far as I follow it no sightings yet on the trail. They are rather shy and try to avoid humans. Wolfs are no real danger to humans anyway. And bears are really really rare in the area as far as I know. So to spot both of those species as well as Lynx you must be really lucky. However, if it calms your mind, carry bearspray with you if you like. There are actually no real dangers along this trail. I think the biggest thread is traffic, but here as well, there are not many km along busy roads. So no worries, this trail is pretty safe :) Greetings
Ok many thanks a lot for the answer! appreciate your input and enthousiasm! One more question.. how many km you guys have been walking per day to finish it in 11 days? And are there som vegetarian food on the trail.. or only loads of meat and fish?🤗
You are welcome! We had very different stages, but I think usually around 20km if I remember right. Sometimes a bit less and I think 2 days with around 25km, but nothing too crazy. And yeah you will have vegetarian options usually everywhere. Amy is also Vegetarian and always found stuff. Pirogi(filled dumplings) for example can be veggie or with meet, as well as Plački (Kind of potato pancakes). There are many options. Most people that work at the huts speak good English and will help you to find something on the Menu.
Oh wow cool, good to know! We have a friend here at homr it Rotterdam and my wife.. we are laughing now about this bear spray!😹.."if it calms you down" hahah.. Ok, we'll see. My wife wants to walk this one bu me - less nature more culture, woukd like to walk Cooernicus route in Poland. But ok, i have to listen sonetimes to her ;-)
@@maratazaryan8604 haha yeah sometimes you gotta find a compromise. I can really recommend this trail tough, I enjoyed it a lot. Very beautiful and not too hard trail and friendly people. Good that you are having a laugh about the bearspray 😅 but still, consider bringing it with you for peace of mind ;) all the best! I gonna check out the trail you mentioned now
Thanks for your comment. As far as I understood, it is not allowed to wildcamp in Poland, especially the part in the National Park. But as you see in the video, for a small fee you can camp at nearly all the accommodations and use their facilities. You always come across places where you can refil your water. Depending on the season/weather you woll find a bunch of smaller rivers. You also cross the Wisla River.
Not yet, and when I spoke to the people who "invented" it, it sounded more like they are not planning on making one. The idea behind the loop is that the people who want to walk it are faced with the little challenge to plan their routes themselves. You can do so with the help of the official website. The link is in the video description. Greetings
@@DeclanJosephOShea In Poland really easy. Google Maps works great, so wherever you arrive, you will be guided there. We came by train from Breclav, Czech Republic. Closest Airport is Krakow I think. From there, you should be able to get a direct train to Bielsko Biala. There (Also on Google Maps), you can find the best Bus connection. You get tickets for the train at the train station and Local Bus Tickets for Bielsko Biala at some machines at the busstop. bilety.polregio.pl here you can also check the train schedule from Krakow to Bielsko Biala.
