- At my Age is a show that aims to provide intervention for elderly people faced with a plight they can’t resolve because of their age.
In this episode we look into the case of Mkhulu Nana whom we found stuck at home with a debilitating plight. Following the rapture of a bizarre growth situated near his genitals, Mkhulu was referred to the Far East hospital by his local clinic but to his disappointment, he was discharged shortly without receiving proper care. This led to his community rallying behind him in an attempt to get him proper treatment but all was in vain. Whose responsibility is it to ensure hospitals do their job? What does an elder do when suffering neglect by a facility that is supposed to care them? Where does one go when faced with this kind of situation?
At my Age plays on SABC 2 every Tuesday at 11h00 Развлечения
the neighbors deserve so much in life
Amen
I pray I never getting seriously ill before I'm able to afford medical aids and such resources because I'm terrified of such...This is sad💔. Those neighbours are just the best. God bless them🙏🙏❤❤
All I hear from the CEO is a bunch of excuses. The issue was not that u Khulu had no one to care for him. His neighbours were doing a very good job, the hospital is the one that did not care for him at all. They should have attained all personal information at admission and communicated with all healthcare providers involved eg clinic and social workers for continued care. This was gross negligence and someone should be answerable for this as this led to a painful death of khulu. May his soul rest in peace.
Hmmmm this is very sad😞..
And the doctors they are just defending themselves but they are wrong.
Why is the CEO smiling throughout. There's nothing to smile about concerning this matter. The public health system is failing our elders and they don't take responsibility for their actions. Incurable diseases don't mean he shouldn't be made comfortable and taken care of
thought as much i even thought that im imagining things
not only the elders...health system is very depressing
Lami ngisamengele she thinks ilife kalobaba is a joke
Uma isibhedlela si neglecter umuntu omdala kanje bathi mayekuphi????? Eish umntu omnyama uqindezela omnya it’s a shame in the universe
Ummm those neighbors are angels for real..
my grandmother lost her life ko far East hospital...she would stay days without being fed nor bathed it saddens me to this day
Niba nolaka nikhulumisana Kabi ngokudelela yebo niyazi I Cancer ngeke aphile pho aze aphume izibungu aninamahloni
THERE'S NO EXCUSE FOR ILL TREATING MKHULU.. I WISH ALL THOSE WHO NEGLECTED HIM BENGA LOOSE THEIR JOB... GOD BLESS HIS NEIGHBORS WITH EVERYTHING.
Omg this is so sad.
I commend the neighbors who cared for Mkhulu Nana in the absence of home care services from government
Rest in peace mkhulu nana....this is not fair honestly 😢
This is a very Painful experience😭
Very sad😢
ijo..this is sad.GOD have mercy
May his soul RIP 😭😭😭 very touching story
Such a touching story😭It got me crying😢😢😢😢
I can relate...how do you write to the show?
The health care practitioners do not, and I repeat they do not even bother to try and explain to the patients what's the diagnosis and I think that is the problem ... Talking from experience
Sad indeed
Rest In Eternal Peace Mkhulu Nana,
I know this Hospital - I also got my leg amputated because of this hospital. They went an extra length to have my case thrown out.
Sad to you FER you failed this man and others. How do you sleep at night?
this is the second story from AT MY AGE the story ends sadly the person being taken to hospice
Just few days after taking them to hospice they die😢😢😢
OMG 😓😓😓 agshem 👏👏.
so this lady is trying to say that when you have a family member you cant be assisted? well that was just a lame excuse and it was better if she should have admitted that the man was illtreated.
CEO smile yhooo 😭💔
Ntebatso Moloi I hope you go back to this video and if you don't find anything wrong that all I f you working for the government said and done wrong then it's fine
Rest in peace mkhulu nana

Dr Lesia 💔💔💔💔💔💔💔 as a women, but hey you are the head.
Oh Far East is the worst hospital. Mkhulu is right. The nurses are super rude. Clinic in twatwa Emaphupheni is like a death trap. They will put drips on you for no reason without even cleaning you up. Disgusting.
They will shout at the elderly and say bayadina.
RIP Mkhulu the system failed you
once one is I'll and contacts the Media...trust Me, such a person die shortly after consulting a hospital. why? COZ they call it a good riddance
It's painful when u have kids and die alone
People die in that hospital ......... ladies who give birth nge c-section see horror ...........abanandaba njr ......
Haibo this CEO wangcasula nje.Esani i-smile??
Uyazincengela ebulale umuntu
The CEO lacks empathy. Care giver at home. How sure are you that he has a care giver? Did you EQUIP the care giver? During apartheid people were treated better. This is sad
What a disgrace 😡😡😡🤬
I know this madala
What the hell is this lady saying...I mean the CEO..
That's not family. Those are neighbor's, abalobuntu unlike CEO and the rest of Far East Rand hospital. He stays alone. Stop assuming CEO. You're lacking in your job
To be honest neh im not being discriminative but the problem is with us "BLACKS" we are so greedy towards ourself and it hurts 😓😓 May his soul rest in perfect peace
Just stop the translation, its Giblish.
