- At my Age is a show that aims to provide intervention for elderly people faced with a plight they can’t resolve because of age.
At her age, Gogo Linki Mothapo (73) still serves as a domestic worker which she indicates helps to calm her nerves from worrying about the problems in her life. At the dawn of democratic South Africa, 1996, Gogo Linky like many South Africans in need of homes rushed to register for a RDP house. However, she never received a house. Realising she’s nearing retirement age, she started building herself a home she could retire in. Unfortunately, her house was vandalised and she experienced a lot of theft that saw her give up on a dream of ever owning a home. It is heart breaking to see an adult struggling alone and fighting her own battles without any family support.

Its so so sad to watch ugogo as she seems to be in pain both emotionally and physically. From what I see this could be some auto immune neurological disorder . I hope someone from production will read this and suggest this to the doctor so that some tests could be done. Also check for Fibromyalgia, she seems to be presenting some of the symptoms . May God be with her as she seeks healing, all is well gogo, I am praying for you and your family🙏🏾
Medical intervention is really needed, please involve psychiatrist and neurologist as well,,,some questions like how did she take the death of her husband needs clarity,,soo that she can also be managed properly...Her labile emotions needs to be looked carefully, it might be due to stroke that went on to affect the part that controls emotions
This woman has depression there's no demons apha. Also the social worker need to speak to her in private. She was chained maybe that threw her off and who knows if they weren't abusing her at that church. She probably wants her money. Imagine getting paid but you don't even see it.
Yes she's depressed, oh Nkosi its sad when everyone is ignorant in a home.
But why don't they give her a pen and paper to write down what's bothering her since she can't talk?...
Maybe she's illiterate.
Illiteracy is really a problem because instead of seeking medical help (professional) they opted for seeking help elsewhere. Health education is really a thing needed by many

I hate to say it..but i really don't trust her daughter, i think she might be abusing her mother, There's something about her that does not sit well with me .
but how come so many people depend on the grant of one person?
This matter is extremely spiritual. No medical intervention will complete heal her. Only Jesus Christ can truly set her free. Not confused pastors who believe in ancestors 🤦♀️ We need true warriors of God!!!

Can't gogo write all of this down? Pity this is an old show. I hope gogo is feeling better now and they took her to a doctor.

They need to talk to gogo separately without her children.
In my 27 years on earth ive never seen such a disease ,i hope she will get all the help she needs.They don't work but they keeping popping babies out! They must go get jobs.
I don’t think gogo grieved her husband properly - I don’t think she went through all her grieving stages, I strongly believe she is stuck on one of the stages . .plus depression - she is showing some signs of depression , not major depression necessarily but maybe major depressive episodes plus it’s worse coz she can’t voice out her opinions. Plus this whole thing of her illness - it left her distraught. A mix of loneliness too. Watching further gogo has psychosis - it’s an abnormality of the mind , individual loses touch with reality and can experience hallucinations or delusions leading to schizophrenia.
I’m in my final year of psychology so I hope my diagnosis is not completely wrong but according to the DSM-5 criteria she shows all signs . Plus also she shows signs of bipolar 1 - experiencing depressive episodes and maniac episodes hence she is hitting people and all

This needs to be referred to a Community worker too. This lady needs deliverance and counselling
nonsense social workers ! why not give her a pen and paper and write her feelings out.

Hayi, the lady is clearly too emotional and it's obvious she has speech problem and other medical issues. Why delaying and not refer her for medical and psychological assessment while trying to obtain collateral to the family and also have multidisciplinary team input where the lady is admitted and interviewed in the private place away from her family. How can she even express abuse by family incase there is possibility. How can she open up about her traumatic experiences without psychologists and psychiatric input. Home visits are good but some cases need removal from home for proper assessment. When all symptoms suggest severe emotional damage , trauma and significant others depending on the clients grant there is a risk of financial abuse as well. I hope Social workers speed up engagement of other appropriate professionals who need to take the lead assessment
