- At my Age is a show that aims to provide intervention for elderly people faced with a plight they can’t resolve because of age.
At 65 Gogo Nelly Wilson is not registered as a South African citizen and therefore has no Identity Document. As a result she lives in abject poverty because she cannot access the old age social grant and other services without an ID. For a while now her younger sister has tried her utmost to register Gogo Nelly but all is in vain. What does an elder do when she watches her peers live in comfort enjoying privileges provided by government and she is left out? What will it take for the department to recognise gogo Nelly and restore her dignity as a South African citizen?
