He was a good example of what TV Tropes calls a "bait-and-switch tyrant." He was a smirking tosser for one episode, but almost immediately afterwards, showed his better side. He was still a hard man for the rules (and probably rightly so in the Fire Brigade), but he also knew when to bend them. As you say, he was very much one of the lads at heart - a very good blend of leader, colleague and friend really.
What, a stranger says to Malcom he's looking for the station officer, and Malcom just takes him there ? How about "Can I ask who you are ?" or "Is he expecting you ?"
3:15 "YOU MEN THERE!"
😂😂😂
Loved Malcolm - he was one of the funniest characters! Missed him so much when Poison Pearce took over.
@@BenBanjo87 Yea. Malcom was the best. Geoff ruined Blackwall.
"We'll talk about it." In other words "Wait till I'm officially in charge, then you'll get your bollocking."
In S4, Nick was a snobby prick he was season 6 Geoff, but as the show went, one became one of the lads and it was sad he died the way he did

Hallam is just pissed at being kicked off his perch.
“That’s how he will handle it, badly.”

Better than saying "Up there, mate!" 😂
