Great advice here, Caan. "Trade what you see rather than what you want to see" is so, so spot on! Recently got back into tennis trading and the above phrase is very important to keep in mind. Also, it helps for me to consciously determine before each single trade if that trade stems from an opportunity in the market (risk/reward) or trying to predict the match. The latter has been very costly in the past, while the former, by definition, hasn't.
I set some new rules for myself, only entering trades in very specific circumstances.

I think one of the fundamental problems for new traders is knowing what is important to concentrate on and what is not. Wheat from chaff etc.

changes iv'e made that have been a game changer in my trading journey (yes guys it is a journey), that may help you on yours.
first of all stop trying to make money, instead think of it as a game and your job is to get good at this game, your practicing, you will get paid when your done practicing. when you look at it this way it dampens down the emotion. loosing trades are the price of getting good so keep your stakes small, loosing trades are a tool, study them, understand why it was a looser. did you follow your plan? if so good, if not address the fault, use a screen recorder to record your trades and you may not like to hear this but its a game changer USE A TRADING JOURNAL, i know its boaring but its a must if your going to make it in this game, so why use a trading journal? a trading journal allows you to see patterns in your trading, am i getting on to early? am i judging the set up right? ect a journal will show you what you need to address but it does more than this by writing down the facts in your journal you are force feeding your subconscious mind with the facts, this will shorten your trading journey , hope thats helpful guys best of luck

Great advise, it's interesting listening to these video's now that I'm a few years into studying the racing markets, I hear it completely different than when I first started out. I would say to anyone starting out to actually make sure you are interpreting what is being said correctly.

    Great, Caan.
I see you are applying all the stuff you learnt from myself, thanks for trusting in me- you will go far in your trading career.
That Peter Webb is going around the place trying to make himself out that he only learnt by himself and got no advice from me at all what so ever.
    The cheeky skitter.
Well....I know that you always give credit where credit is due my good man, if you see a hot 90's pink Lambo driving down the road you'll know that's me mate, probably on the way home after doing doughnuts in ASDAs car park because the one at McDonalds is too small to do them in.
If you need any more advice on sports trading just give me a bell.
The hot 90's pink Lambo is calling me now, see ye later.

Interesting, you state that you are still in learning mode after many years of trading.
How would you go about learning new trading ideas, are you essentially trying to identify possibly new patterns of price action behaviour that had not been apparant to you before and have a eureka moment from yhis hew insight. As an experienced , successful trader please clarify how you learn new things about trading, thanks

    Thanks for video!
I'm a beginner, will soon be the first year's finish .
I'm not fully sure, but perhaps one of my mistakes is to roll around in different markets / sports, instead of focusing on one.
As far as I work full time, I have a number of potentially profitable strategies, but I have not enough developed and tested them.
Although I've spent a fair amount of time in traiding, but this time is divided into different sports and tactics.
