My dad did work experience with Hugh and Andrew back in the 80's somewhere in Devon. I've just been given a Manson Kestrel electric as a bit of a family heirloom - It's beautiful.
Cort working with boutique builders in nothing new. My bro's first bass was a Cort Curbow 4, designed by John Curbow himself! Very fine instrument, and he still has it.
KJFilmProductions Mansons(dot)com(dot)uk Yes, I paid the 100£ preorder deposit, and will pay the rest later when they'll start to send guitars (march/april).
NISHE - One Minute Songs Wow ... I forgot I made a comment here ! I finally got this guitar and it sounds WAY BETTER than this video, in reality ... If someone is interested in it, I made a video test on my channel... Thanks :)
The guy interviewing Hugh looks like he doesn't give a shit. Could we please have a host who care? Oh and while you're at it, a demonstrator who pays attention to the camera
If they were trying to demonstrate Matt's tones, they failed quite hard. He uses much less gain than it seems like, and fuzz for most the riffs... And yet they just put a high gain amp in there.
But, specially for what's esentially a signature guitar... For god's sake, his main sounds are an ac30 blended with a marshall and a fuzz factory for lead!
I love how Hugh just doesn't believe the crap about trussrods etc like some pretentious guitarists seem to spew lol. He makes them and doesn't need the fancy jargon lol.
Hi Folks. I had just bought a MBC-1. It's a nice little guitar but I am getting some string buzz on the 5th Fret on the bottom E. Any ideas how I can fix it without destroying the guitar? Thx for your help.
Or the nut is a bit to low or something like that or its just your neck that needs to be adjusted (truss rod or the frets) I do't know many things about all this but Ive tried it before so it can help. Otherwise just let your local store look at it
Hugh Manson stated they were sending information back and forth to [South] Korea for the prototypes and pick ups... They're actually made in Indonesia, Hugh... A quick and easy way to produce a few thousand cheap guitars and sell them at a profit? Yeah, I think that's the plan. Nevertheless, it does sound really nice.
He´s been making Matt´s guitars over 20 years. Yet it is not 20 years since their debut Showbiz (1999) came out, something is not adding up .. So matt was getting custom made guitars when they were still an unknown band in the garage.. makes sense, right.
Pretty sure in muses biography it says something about how Matt was family friends or had relations somehoq with hugh and that's how he got them so early
+John Volk Buying a mbk2 bridge humbucker and a soldering iron is still cheaper and the pickup will be of better quality. Be honest, you just want that lovely shape!
Nobody in Wisconsin drinks much Pabst these days. Cort has a terrible reputation on how they treat their employee's. Happy employee's build better products.
Definitely. I really appreciated it when Tom Araya said he uses the bass he uses because it's basically off the shelf. So that if a fan wants to play the same bass as him, they can just go buy it. Some would need to save for a while, but it's still far, far more attainable than a $6,000 guitar. The way he looked at it, he could get an expensive signature model anywhere if he wanted, but there was no need.
This guitar doesn't really seem to have anything special about it. There aren't really any interesting features at all that I can tell, leaving the guy to talk about things that aren't at all important; the lack of a string tree is important despite that being true of basically all Gibsons? And apparently for some weird reason the shape of the neck pickup route is important?
Hugh Manson makes such sublime stuff. A genius.

1:43 He tells the interviewer what he thinks of him. =)
What an amazing sound!!🎸
awesome guitar!
I'm playing my Hugh Manson fretless bass in my icon photo, nice to see Hugh on the site!!
Cort working with boutique builders in nothing new. My bro's first bass was a Cort Curbow 4, designed by John Curbow himself! Very fine instrument, and he still has it.
Great pickup configuration I like how they work together. Its a very late 80s looking guitar.
Great guitar!!
Glad I ordered one ! Sounds really great !
Which sight did u order on, n did u pay the 100 preorder?

@@thewomanwithnohead hi! Really nice videos in your channel, suscribed!
Please make a 7 string version
Finally!
The guy interviewing Hugh looks like he doesn't give a shit. Could we please have a host who care? Oh and while you're at it, a demonstrator who pays attention to the camera
Looks like a pretty cool guitar. If you're a Muse fan, slap a TenTen Triangle Fuzz on it and go to town.
I thought he used a zvex fuzz factory?
Anthony Sclafani he does
so good fri i like
Did anyone notice Hugh letting slip that Muse have a stadium tour planned?
Wow thats an awkward interview
The worst rendition of Supermassive Black Hole ever.
i know its an old comment but i just wanted to say that i couldnt even tell it was SMBH until i saw that comment LOL
+Tedal Louckes You're welcome ;)
That intro riff was atrocious.
His tattoos slowed him down obviously. What will he tell his grandchildren, "I was kidnapped by Gypsy tattoo artists when I was 9?"
I couldn't tell it was SMBH until that last little lick

ikr..hate when they plug in everything they find into a high gain amp and turn the gain to 10

I'd be nervous in front of Hugh Manson too.

Captain Shamrock I
use fuzz please, not high gain for that axe

Just lift the bridge a bit, but be carefull. Its a Gibson sort of bridge so iT lifts all the strings
Cheers. I am cautious about lifting the bridge but I might need to raise it up a few mm's. Thank you.

“He ordered some to bring on tour” I have not seen one concert played with those 😂
You must be blind then.
Martyn Young I've never seen him use a Cort, he always uses his Mansons
on some gigs, Matt plays guitar with the tape covered the manson decals, I think that is the mbc 1 he plays
Ivan Permana when was the last time you saw that?
I'm going to buy a cort mbc-1 soon, which amp do you recommend me to buy?
Fender Mustang V.2 II
+Joshua Melara Thanks!!
Vox AC30 or a Vox VX1 or 2
I didn't know Dani Alves plays guitar
Matt Bellamy has huge hands
Not really... he's kind of a small guy and his hands are proportional.
Hugh Manson stated they were sending information back and forth to [South] Korea for the prototypes and pick ups... They're actually made in Indonesia, Hugh...

I'd buy the guitar just for the beefy manson pick up.
+John Volk Buying a mbk2 bridge humbucker and a soldering iron is still cheaper and the pickup will be of better quality. Be honest, you just want that lovely shape!
I thought that he was trying to play I Disappear with Metallica, because that is how the intro sounded like.
People looooove to hate, old jazz farts go home, it's 2015 muse fans it's time to drone
Those interviewers are really annoying.
Nobody in Wisconsin drinks much Pabst these days. Cort has a terrible reputation on how they treat their employee's. Happy employee's build better products.
US$6.000,00 guitars alianate 95+% of the planet.

C'mon, Cort ? I'm surprised the let them into NAMM.lol
gimmie
The only thing i got from this is that the guitar sucks unless Matt is playing it lol.
Tone is in the fingers... and Matt has all kinds of effects too which they probably haven't dialed in.
Idk why they would make this guitar with a basswood body.... Disappointing I would buy one if it had an alder body or a higher quality wood.
Jake 053 The Idea was to make it more affordable
От мэнсона тут только форма корпуса и грифа. Это говно дороже 150$ не может стоит никогда!!!! А продают за 800$.
Сергей Ходатович Дык сказали же что сигнатура вообще другая, а это балайка та что в видео
You almost need an interpreter to cut through the accent...I don't know, sounds like I doonoo...the vowel sounds are X3 stretched
terrible interviewer ! HM is great !!

Well its not really Unique but trust me when you try iT its one hell of a great guitar
+Lil'bassist254 it's just that I have literally no reason to ever try it. shrug.
