This guitar actually sounds really badass, has that Matt Bellamy aggressive sound to it which I like.
Danny Peel the sustain
*heavy breathing*
Thanks for a great demo. I had to buy one. :)
I have a strat, tele, Les paul and a Brian May guitar. This guitar is amazing. As soon as I picked it up I had to buy it. I think all the people who have posted negative comments about this guitar really really REALLY should pick one up and play it. Then come back and delete your comments lol. Its amazing.
+Captain Shamrock I accidentally brushed my hand against the headstock whilst checking the price tag on one in my local guitar shop... I put a deposit down on it a few minutes later.
+Mark O lol...the smell alone would make you buy one.
I'd been painting all day so i was still ignoring smells when i went in lol. I'm going to be picking it up in the next week or two, i really cant wait :D
+Mark O its a great guitar. might upload my own video soon.
+Mark O, this guitar can be compared to a Fender?
Pwoper guitar
I love you lol
Pwopa Pwopa Pwopa Pwopa Pwopa Pwopaganda
Why don't you "Foreign Dudes" speak the King's English, like we do in Canada! PWOPA-PWOPA! - what kind of Pidgin-jibber-jabber is that? 🇨🇦 🍁
we've got the MBC-1 and very happy with it.. fantastic demo.. clip at 11:32 seems to be out of sync with audio... :D
When people say it's a bad, just remember that Matt Bellamy actually uses it.
Nope. He clearly don't. He use all of his Manson guitars, and one Fender Stratocaster to play The Globalist (and other rarities, when they do) but he never use this one live.
+DowserGratt I thought he did some recordings with it. If not then my fault. It's a bit dumb that they actually photograph Matt with it when he's not using it. I still think it sounds great.
LOL nope Matt uses Manson that is a custom guitar, so we are taking about 3.500 euros (dollars of whatever)
This is a good series guitar by the way
j3sperado he definitely uses it... just in his free time. He also obviously has to play it to make sure the guitar is really a Bellamy sig. I'm sure he wouldn't mind using one on stage; he seems very, very fond of it.
@@DowserGratt actually, there's a bunch of videos where he plays Psycho with this very guitar.
That blues lick at 11:15 made my eye sweep a tear
Hi Folks. I had just bought a MBC-1. It's a nice little guitar but I am getting some string buzz on the 5th Fret on the bottom E. Any ideas how I can fix it without destroying the guitar? Thx for your help.
Now if this guitar had a mahogany body with Maple top it'd been more awesome look and sound
this guitar or ep lp custom pro or ep lp tribute?
Very good demo, that's an awesome and incredible guitar for its price ! I also like to couple it with a Digitech Whammy DT (but definitely not as good as the guitarist in this video ! ;)
What distortion are you using in the beginning? Sounds great, still waiting for my guitar to make it here!
+Vikke95 that was the stock distortion on the Orange Rockverb - I'm also using a Digitech whammy pedal set to add the low octave.
Can someone tell me what the small cut-out at the base of the neck is (and what's showing through?) it's on the recent Manson mattocasters as well...
Also, for anyone who owns this, would swapping out the humbucker for a Manson bare knuckle be worth doing? Or is the stock on of similar nature to the bare knuckle?
fixxer37 The adjustment of the truss rod can be done there.
Regarding switching out the pickup, I probably wouldn't bother doing that unless there was a Manson shop in my country. I have an MA-1, and although it's tone is a little different, it's not THAT different.
Does the guitar get dents or scratches easily? Because in my experience basswood is very soft...
mine has scratches from my belt from school performances
other than that not at all, it's amazing
how are you bending the pitch at the beginning? I'm confused
I was bewildered too, at first.
I think he's using some kind of pitch expression PEDAL.
I could be wrong.
Odd, I'm sure I saw a preview the other did that in fact DID have the kaos pad installed. I guess you could buy a kaos pad mini and rout it in or even just velcro it on lol...
Where did you see the review with the Kaoss pad?... because I'm thinking of getting one installed in my mbc-1.
Madman You can only get a Fernandes sustainer or a Z-vex fuzz factory installation or both if you order the MBC-1 through Manson guitar works (they come at £399 extra each) at this time, they have not yet announced plans to offer a midi control pad installation on this guitar. You are only able to purchase the control pad installation through purchase of a custom guitar or a Manson MB signature model. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the info but i was wondering on buying a Kaoss pad mini from amptone lab then installing it myself. I just wanted to see how it would look like cause we all know a kaoss pad on a Matt signature guitar would be sexy. It could be that they are going to make more than one signature model. Im just guessing by the mbc-"1" there could be a mbc-2 or something, either way thanks for the info. :)
Madman
Ah fair enough man! Best of luck with the mod if you can pull it off, I would love to see it! And yeah you do raise a good point, they may well released new models in the future which would be very, very exciting. We can only wait and see! You're very welcome, I hoped I could help you out :)
+Madman
I'm not sure if it's officially listed or not, but you can also have Manson install an MXR Phase 90, as well as a long skinny midi strip. My custom MA-1 has a sustainer, MXR phaser, a midi screen, and more. I love it sooo much. The Cort model would be way more economical. Also, I might have misunderstood you, but did you say that some Mansons come with an internal Kaoss Pad? I've never heard of one like that. You can have them install the midi screen or strip, but it doesn't do anything by itself. Good luck with modding your guitar, and if you want to see what a guitar with a mini Kaoss Pad installed looks like for modding help or diagrams, do a google search for the "Ibanez Kaoss guitar." It's a good idea and looks fun, but it's nowhere near as attractive or slick as the Manson.
the sustain
Just picked up mine today, don't be fooled , in person in the looks and sounds , it's very legit, quality sound, looks good and can play with anything any band
Guess it's time for me to learn to play
oponions on how this would sound with a marshall 30cfx
Probably only as good as that amp is going to sound... they're average amplifiers at best. But i'd say it would be pretty good overall because this guitar is great.
i really don't like the kill button... prefer it to be an actuall switch
I find buttons quicker and easier to be honest but I guess it depends on particular people
+Co0kieDealerr I agree... and I've never seen a kill button on one of Matt's guitars so I'm not sure what's going on there. I have a Manson MA-1 Evo, which is similar to this and it has an actual switch.
MazerRackhamX something I was wondering.. is a killswitch better than a button...more reliable?
I really depends I think a switch can be more rhythmic, but a button is better for just spamming it
I might get lost without fret markers...maybe.
Looks like the Hunchback of Notre Dame... still sounds great, and those Far East guitars are an immense value. Thanks for the review!
Chrismayo1981 Is there any need for that dude?... pretty rude.
Just so you know, I was referring to the guitar! The Bass bout's size is funny looking.
Chrismayo1981 HAHA!, fair play dude.
Is there anyone here that could help me. I want to buy a new guitar and this one looks really interesting. Is there any "better" guitar to get in this price range?
+aXque, you'd better buy Fender Stratocaster, order all over the internet Manson MB-1's, for example, pickups and install it into the guitar. Why? Because Cort is a piece of shit by default. Yes, I admit that Hugh Manson spent a lot of blood and sweat for collaboration with Cort and made budget version of famous guitar.
Worldwide practice shows that real guitar with custom pickups from MB-1 sounds great! But Cort's guitars are made of plywood multiplied on Indonesian shit and sounds awfully. A friend of mine has one and he complains all the time about quality...
Yeah, you'll spend twice more money, but you'll get a Real Thing instead of official counterfeit :D
Thx for the input.
+aXque +Виктор Григорьев Actually, the body on this particular model is made from basswood, I would agree with you for other Cort guitars in terms of quality, but this one in particular has high quality parts, and is also looked over by the Manson 'luthier' team, so I wouldn't blow this one out the water just yet.
Especially if you fit it with an MBK-2 pickup from the Manson website (which is what I'm gonna go for, along with a fuzz factory and sustainer install), but as shown in the video, there's still fantastic sound and other videos show a similar response.
And also, along with Hugh Manson, Matt Bellamy also helped design the guitar, in parts and construction, so I doubt that it's as bad as you think.
But otherwise, I've gotta agree with you, Fender's are amazing.
And yeah, if you can try one out, but to me this looks a great bit of kit :)
Pineapple Jr I went with a Epiphone Les Paul Custom Pro instead. :) What a beauty.
@@victorgrigoryev The only brand I didn't feel like was cheaping out in their respective price ranges was Cort. My 2009 M600 is good quality mahogany not like the newer Ibanez models I owned. Just sold one, and ordered this. Honestly, you get way more guitar than the price tag if you buy from Cort (in this price range at least).
Any decent budget amp to use with this guitar?
Auzeos well I'm using the new Boss Katana and it's great
Played it for the past year with a Marshall mg101cfx till I can afford my dark terror
does anyone know if this guitar requires batteries or not?
No need for any batteries. Why it would?
***** cause I read active pickups on guitar center that's why I asked. I hate guitars that use batteries cause it would cause inconvenience plus also a risk of leakage
Oh no no, they're just regular "passive" pickups. Musicians Friend has the same error on the website.
If you get sustainiac it probably needs batteries
People always say about things cleaning up rolling back but you lose your volume.
It's negligible because with a driven/clipping amp or pedal the top part of a wave is essentially cut short or "compressed". Once an amp starts distorting, the bulk of the extra "volume" into the gain stage goes into distortion rather than actually increasing the volume of the sound
Bruh why don’t they sell these on Amazon anymore? I have money saved up and would like to come across one of these to buy.
Manson released the MGM-1 few weeks ago, it's the replacement to this and it's about the same price
They stopped selling these recently. You can currently order the new Manson Meta Series MBM-1 though. It’s almost the same except it has new pickups including a humbucker in the neck position, (I think) satin soft v shape neck, +silver option, tuners might be a little different too
J Melara - I appreciate the reply. You might even appreciate mine since I bet you lost hope for me. My MBM1 just delivered last week. I’ve been busy so I’ve only done around 10 minutes worth of jamming with it but that’ll change soon.
GoofyGonzalo OCP AYE!!! Congratulations!
How much does this cost?
I'm over a year late but $600
Its been two years, and now, i just bought one, the red sparkle version, i bought it for 870.00, plus shopping, but it's because they're no longer being produced, i feel that it will very much worth the money
Aaah... A killswitch
12:40 what is that?
Dermawan Sugiharto idk but it sounds chuck berry-ish
thanks
Made in indonesia 😎😎😎
indonesia
this is more like a Tom Morello guitar
I can't stand Muse, but had to buy this guitar.
Pete Ward why
what a useless button :D
Not if you're Bellamy or Buckethead.
Bad review
Why?
Aaah... A killswitch
