Love your channel!!! I am an older woman that watches your channel. Watching all your videos and sharing . My daughter will hopefullly be going to Thailand for their honeymoon Gets married in August!!!! So very excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!You both are A Beautiful couple that you are!!! I Pray for you everyday for safe travels!!!! as you journey on your travels on utube!!!!
We did the same trip one week ago!! On the first day, we ended up in the engine room, on the second day we went to the boat at 7am to to get the best spots, when we got there it was only us and the captain. Definitely worth it 😂
Very interesting video. I’m curious to see what Laos is like. I swear you guys are troopers! You seem to take even the most unexpected and annoying inconveniences in stride! Thanks again for sharing your adventures!
It's all part of the experience! There was a VIP bus which took half the time but we both knew it would be an interesting experience plus a cool RUclips video, so we had to do this, and was definitely worth it in the end! :)
The river view looks relaxing. I think during the 70's, that area was a war zone when the Vietnam war overflowed thru Laos. But now looks nice. Enjoy guys.
Thank you, this was a great help! I will soon make the same crossing, but I will try without the help of a company. Anyway, your tips are very valuable.
You two are my favorites of the zillions doing this itinerary. Really unpretentious and charming with good information. FWIW, another alternative to the public slow boat is to take a rather nicer private slow boat. I took the slow boat to Luang Prabang and the Shompoo Cruise for $170 USD on the return trip. We were ten passengers and four crew on a beautiful boat made for forty passengers. Excellent meals served, short tours of points of interest along the river and a very cordial staffer whose whole job was to make sure everything went properly. Absolute bliss. Nagi Cruise is an equivalent product. If you really want to splash out there are cruises with private staterooms and uniformed servants, but that's really expensive and attracts a very specific clientele.
You better hold the Thai baht rather than change to the US dollar. In Laos, they accept Thai baht and if you use the dollar, you will lose more esp when you buy the small thing.
If you pay a bit more you can get a nicer boat (around $100) with a lot less passengers including food and accommodation + some stops at some of the villages
Awesome videos as always! Keep it up! Just about to do this route myself. Could you please tell me which tour you used from Chiang Rai to Laos? Thanks 🙌
20 years ago. the Lao immigration looks like a small house 😂😂😂 but the boat still looks the same. did you buy some seat cushion? those were life saver back then coz we only have wooded seats -_-
I have a question about the passport photos. Do the photos need to match your passport, or can I get some other ones taken before I go but they won't match my passport as I'm obviously older?

Nice one, just did the opposite journey from Laos to Thailand. Boat was only 50% full but it did take longer due to going upstream

Would you recommend applying for the visa online?
I think sometimes it can be easy just to turn like most people do

Hello! Does anyone know if they do the tour every day of the week?
Hey I have a question, i'm going to do this trip in october and i'm wondering what you guys ended up paying for the visa? :-) Have a Nice day
Hi did you need proof of onwards travel to gain your visa?
I have a question about the passport photos. Do the photos need to match your passport, or can I get some other ones taken before I go but they won't match my passport as I'm obviously older?
They don’t have to match your passport at all, my passport is very old, whereas the photo I took is done not long ago
@@Joelfriend Thank you!
You can take a cheaper photo for the visa to get into Laos
Did you book this the day before you left??
