I'm 74 and have been riding all types of bikes bikes for years. I bought a chrome bronze 350 Classic last year, the best bike I've ever had, brilliant to ride around Essex, fabulous motorcycle. Gets lots of positive comments.
Hi from Australia. I own two high powered motorcycles that are not really built for commuting in a built up city. So I bought a 350 Classic to commute. The dealer commented I would find it underpowered and not like it after the bikes I own. He was wrong. I love riding it and it is the best bike around town and in traffic. Looks great and easy to maintain and FUN TO RIDE.
Take ur life in ur own hands riding any motorcycle in any Aussie city these days except early on a Sun morning. Better to get out of the city and ride off into the sunset🏍️
I live in Texas and we have thousands of miles of back roads which the RE Classic is perfect for. The seat is incredibly comfortable and it has enough weight to make the ride smooth. The Classic, due to its anemic performance, does not belong on freeways or highways. If you are looking for torque and speed, the Classic is not going to make you happy. If you are looking for a laid-back riding experience on lonely back roads, then the Classic will make you very happy. I'm still "running" mine in and cannot wait to take it on a 200-mile trip in the future.
Last October I bought a Chrome/Bronze Classic. Because of the break in suggested I almost returned it the first week. It was an excruciatingly painful process. But now that I have 2500 miles on her she just hums along. I live in Southern California where to get anywhere you have to hop on the freeways with traffic, if it is moving, is as high as 85 mph. After a few mods she will easily get out and do 65 mph no problem. But I'm telling ya that riding a new bike is nowhere near riding a broken in one. The constant complaints from the reviewers about breaks, suspension and all are completely absent because until about 1200 miles the bike just not up to it's capabilities. I can throw her around the twistys up in the local mountains and the hills in Orange County and LA with ease, so the tire thing is also a load of bull. CEAT is a division of Pirelli just as ByBre is a division of Brembo. And my other bike is a CBR1000RR so I know what a bike should handle like, having ridden sportbikes for 40 years. The Classic is really a diamond in the rough. Thanks for the video! Cheers from LA 🏖
The break in period is definitely a frustrating process but it's worth it. The demo bike we took out was a bit vibey. Probably because it'd been thrashed from zero miles - conversely ours is really smooth. Just approaching 1000 miles now and it gets better and better 👍

A small bike ridden at or 90% of what it can do is far more fun than a big bike ridden at 30% of what it can do. My happiest biking memories and best adventures were on a 250 single 2 stroke. Sit on it for long enough and you can get anywhere, and it's so much cheaper to run. A bike that can do 150mph needs tyres rated for that speed, even though you never do it on the road. I have a Guzzi V7 and my next bike may be an Enfield. EDIT: I actually decided against the Enfield because I didn't like the dealer. Ended up with a Triumph 660 Tiger Sport. Although it is capable of high speed, it rides very nicely and smoothly within 30 and 40 mph limits too.

My 1980s 350 Royal Enfield is STILL going, doesnt cost much to run ( 20 bhp, ! I put mine 1980s enfield on the dyno , got 14 HP ! ) wouldnt buy another bike !
I did a 1000km trip around Nepal two-up on a Classic 350 a couple of months ago. I ride a Bullet 500 at home. As expected, the Classic has way less pick up, and I found it needed to be in first on any kind of up hill. But that's fine in a country where the speed limit is between 20 and 40 kmph. Any faster and you'd be picked up by a speeding bus. I have a playlist of our near death experiences. I think the Classic is a fine elegant and smooth ride. It made me feel like a gentleman, whereas the Bullet makes me feel like a bit of a wrongen.
I came to defend Royal Enfield. I needn’t have 🤣 I enjoyed hearing your thoughts. I haven’t ridden a 350 but my 500 is the most fun I’ve had on a bike since I was a kid ragging a fs1e around the fields 🙂

You could pretty much do a road trip on any of their bikes, just beware, though they top put at about 70 mph. If you can live with that, then it's just a case of picking a bike.

❤You are right! This bike is fantastic to tide🎉. I love it even in the city busy rides and especially in the longrides either smooth or bumpy roads! The fuel economy is brilliant!😊
Great use of the click bait there Jim, hammer that algorithm 😂 It's not a bike I could ever see myself owning but they obviously appeal to very many riders. The new Triumph 400's the Scrambler 400X in particular catches my eye, a little more grunt and presence 👍😀
I've got an older (2016) Bullet 500 which I keep alongside my 'big bike'. It's the worst motorcycle, dynamically, I've ever had, but the one that's absolutely captured my heart. Is it fast? Nope, but clipping around the lanes on it is great fun - it makes a lovely sound, makes old geezers on the side of the road wave as I go by, and I've been all over the South Downs, Lincolnshire, Norfolk, Essex and Kent on it for weekends away with absolutely no problems at all. In fact, the last time I took it touring, it ended up being the donkey taking all of my mate's luggage, after his supposedly versatile Honda CB decided it didn't like having things strapped to its rear seat! No bother for little Enfield - it chugged along merrily.
In all honesty, I never wanted to ride bikes, but as a little run around the city, I could honestly love to purchase a Royal Enfield Classic 350, in Marsh Grey, Gunmetal Grey or Halcyon Green. They look awesome, and fuel economic.
I’m torn between the Classic and Hunter 350 currently. So far I like the sound and style more of the Hunter, but the riding position of the classic looks more relaxed.
Live in NYC. Own a 1k CC BMW (among others). But… My RE Classic 350 is more fun through city streets and back country roads here in NY. Fast enough to slice through all the city congestion (in style), yet slow enough to smell and take in the scenery. Love that bike and will never sell it. P.S. Wouldn’t want to hit the US interstate with this bike, however. (That’s what the fast bikes are for.) Cheers. ✌️😎
I had a feeling it was clickbait, but I really wanted to hear if people don’t like them. It’s a small bike, but still big enough to be on the highway - kinda perfect. It’s going on The List.
At least half of my mileage is with a pillion and its surprisingly good considering the stats on paper. It's important to remember the style of bike it is and factor that into expectations re performance. Accept she's not a Fire Blade & all is good 😊 The only complaint I have with the tyres is tramlining along poor surfaces but I don't have a vast experience of other bikes & tyres so others with more knowledge may know whether other brands of tyres would improve this.
Curious why the title said "worst bike ever"? You seem to like the bike just fine! I'm buying a 2022 350 Meteor this weekend for $2000, only 4k miles. Can't pass that deal up!
Unfortunately, to get the views on RUclips, you have to make clickbait thumbnails and titles to get people to watch. They are fun bikes. I hope you enjoy yours ride safe.
I had an Enfield thunderbird 350. It's more expensive to maintain than a cheap car. It's got no power. no comfort, no speed. It might not be the worst bike, but it's at least a runner-up.
Try using your eyes to check gauges etc rather than bobbing your head up and down all the time. The less the camera moves the better the viewing experience.

I own a green halcyon green one. As an ex Hayabusa owner I have to say it’s a fantastic bike.I never stop smiling when riding it!😀
I came to defend Royal Enfield. I needn’t have 🤣 I enjoyed hearing your thoughts. I haven’t ridden a 350 but my 500 is the most fun I’ve had on a bike since I was a kid ragging a fs1e around the fields 🙂
Yeah sorry for that, Great bikes just doing the sums thinking of pulling the trigger and getting a Classic 350.
@@JimDiesel71 Nah it was a good ploy 🙂👍🏼
All the best!
Did you just say you used to ride a fs1e????? No waayyyyy - gues what my little troublemaking '50 was? yup....
@@frankysworld yeh brilliant little bikes. I learnt to ride it when I was 11. We destroyed it over 3 years or so on a farm. Then we moved on to an XL100.
@@Saddlebags73 got mine brand new when I was 17 (drove an old Zundapp CS50 before that) It was one of those chopper looking versions that were severally limited not to go past 40km/h - It went a bit quicker after borrowing my dad's powertools and slapping a 16mm carb on it. after that I got a 1972 Enfield India Bullet 350 😃
Cool bikes. Am wondering if one can replace the stock seat and pillion with the stock small saddle with springs, like on earlier Classic 350's-John in Rexas
It's such a shame that you have a non run in bike, they don't get freed up till 1500 - 2000 when you can properly appreciate it
Yep, the classic definately improves post run in.
Got myself the very same bike that you tested
It's my 86th bike and I'm loving it
Off on an Adventure soon
Tyres, power it's all in the mind
Forget the image and ride ya bike and have fun
86th bike? Are you an owner of a motorcycle sales company? :D
If You buy a Classic 350 brand spanking new; Be prepared to follow the break-in procedure...to Completion !! (After that, You can drive it as you wish...) If You do; You will have a bike that will perform as it should,. Under all reasonable conditions... & You will be glad that you did!!
Thanks for the tip, appreciated.
And I was coming hot to slam this bloke talking smack about my favorite bike! Haha, but you redeemed yourself...and I'm settled now. Probably should go ride mine now ;)
Ride Safe 🙏🏼
I am planning on starting to ride bikes soon, would any of royal enfields bikes be suitable for road trips? I live in Texas if that matters, I just love the retro look of their bikes
You could pretty much do a road trip on any of their bikes, just beware, though they top put at about 70 mph. If you can live with that, then it's just a case of picking a bike.
Can you do a video on the difference between the classic three fifty and the meteor three fifty
Noone mentions if it's easy to work on or not or to get parts? I live in the USA.
I'm torn between getting this or the Ninja 400 as my first bike. Do you guys have any suggestions on which one to get for an absolute beginner?
Most bikes these are pretty good, it's all down to looks, style, and which one you like the look of most. You can't go wrong really.
Jim mate iv been vloging on the Enfield classic 350 you really can have alot of fun it has a mistic magic inside it trust corners so well push her in the corner the bikes frame is made by haris performance which have been making frame since The 1970s give some welly fella
Nice one Jim, you make a good video matey, i enjoyed that but you got me with the clickbait....bassad 😁 ps i own it's sibling, the Himalayan, mate has the classic, brilliant bikes.
That’s you’re idea of “carnage” 😂😂😂😂😂
Morning Jim, I was riding daily until the Blast Furnace effect hit us here in Vegas. July and August will be off limits unless your Rad.(Mad) Love that 350.
My Himalayan is the bomb. I absolutely love it.
65 is tops for me, and I stay off the freeways here. We have Knucklehead's in motor vehicles who can't see hi- Viz wear.
Stay healthy/ Ride Safe
Hi, thanks Royal Enfield are delighted hitting the ball out of the park with their range of bike. You stay safe too and try not to melt in that Heat.
For big feet just adjust the lever and linkage up some.
I love my Signals Desert Tan for the beach roads of Florida!!! It gets much nicer after break in...❤
so that motor it has... is that a parallel-1 or a V-1?
❤You are right! This bike is fantastic to tide🎉. I love it even in the city busy rides and especially in the longrides either smooth or bumpy roads! The fuel economy is brilliant!😊
If you don’t like attention don’t buy this bike. I can’t stop anywhere with my signals without people coming up and chatting 😂
I have bought this Classic 350, it's just an incredible machine... Love it...❤
Love the old school speedometer
They look great.
Probably my favourite bike in terms of looks.
I would love to hear your opinion on a test ride with the 500 classic. the bike this bike replaces
Do you mean the 500 that proceeded the 350? If so I have the 500 Classic great bike.
Texas here!! Been looking at these !
I felt like I have to change the gear one level up all the while you where riding.
I’ve just gotta say you sound like English Dave from gta and it’s fantastic
Great use of the click bait there Jim, hammer that algorithm 😂 It's not a bike I could ever see myself owning but they obviously appeal to very many riders. The new Triumph 400's the Scrambler 400X in particular catches my eye, a little more grunt and presence 👍😀
But still India 😊
Nice Review.
Hello from Bangladesh 🇧🇩
I just booked this same colour, Gun metal Grey. However I need to wait till March 10 for the delivery.
First inpressions, it just looks amazing
Im your new subscriber from India 😊
Thanks for the Sub, do you ride?
@@JimDiesel71 yes I do ride
beautiful slow bikes, without monoshock, nor inverted forks legs.
In all honesty, I never wanted to ride bikes, but as a little run around the city, I could honestly love to purchase a Royal Enfield Classic 350, in Marsh Grey, Gunmetal Grey or Halcyon Green. They look awesome, and fuel economic.
I have the 2022 model, Halcyon Gray. Awesome machine.
Fabulous little bikes with a massive heart 👍
Maybe consider using a different camera setup... getting dizzy watching this video...
I’m torn between the Classic and Hunter 350 currently. So far I like the sound and style more of the Hunter, but the riding position of the classic looks more relaxed.
The classic riding position is good. However, if you're six foot plus, you might suffer with your back after a few hours.
Ride it? That is a big yes for me!
Given those things you mentioned health wise I'd say try the meteor 350 😊
Love 350....looks amazing classic
Love it
Live in NYC.
(That’s what the fast bikes are for.)
Cheers. ✌️😎
Can't believe I always get lost going to Haywards - it's not a part of Cambridge I'm familiar with.
I was expecting to dislike you after that awfull clickbait title but that was a fun to watch little ride/review. Ride safe!
I was like that, only went bought one lol love it
I have 2020 classic 500 and the crankshaft has shit itself at 4600 k's. Not happy so I'm getting the parts from Hitchcocks and the premium parts.
That ain't good, obviously. How much for a new crankshaft?
I had a feeling it was clickbait, but I really wanted to hear if people don’t like them. It’s a small bike, but still big enough to be on the highway - kinda perfect. It’s going on The List.
Man you triggered a whole motorcycling community with that clickbait 😂.
@@user-kricks yeah upset a few fragile people.
At least half of my mileage is with a pillion and its surprisingly good considering the stats on paper. It's important to remember the style of bike it is and factor that into expectations re performance. Accept she's not a Fire Blade & all is good 😊
The only complaint I have with the tyres is tramlining along poor surfaces but I don't have a vast experience of other bikes & tyres so others with more knowledge may know whether other brands of tyres would improve this.
Tyres, that's a never ending debate 😆 but different/better tyres will improve the tramlining issue.
I'm sure tyres will make a big difference
Try raising the pressures 5 psi at a time
I was going to say what Russ said, but in 3psi increments - narrow tyres are rather sensitive to pressures -especially two up
that is a good bit of fun jolly , i thought you would struggle to find much wrong other than the power ;;
Put a battery in one hand and the electric starter in another and you will see why it weighs what it does.
People love them because they look the part, they're fast enough if youre not in a hurry and most of all they're cheap compared to Japanese bikes.
I am an American and couldn't understand most of what the narrator was saying. Did he like the bike or not?
😂 yeah I liked it, so much so I bought one.
I had an Enfield thunderbird 350. It's more expensive to maintain than a cheap car. It's got no power. no comfort, no speed. It might not be the worst bike, but it's at least a runner-up.
I love the looks of the bike.
Nice bike... I have same colour...
Try using your eyes to check gauges etc rather than bobbing your head up and down all the time. The less the camera moves the better the viewing experience.
AT LEAST OUR SCHEWLS ARENT SHEWTING GALLURIES
Half the price of the bike is for pollution controls you have to change so the bike will run better and cooler.
This bike should be compared to a BSA B40, Norton model 50, Velocette MAC or original bullet 350.
No point comparing it to a modern bike.
