Except the development time for the toys is longer than the show, the animation was based on the final toy design, which is why they're accurate. So that doesn't really save the design of the toy.
Agreed. Wanna know what I found on TFWiki? Energon Hot-Shot's vehicle mode... is a modified Aston Martin Vanquish. Yeah, Energon Hot-Shot transforms into James Bond's signature car. I never knew that until I checked TFWiki.
Can't wait to see you review Cybertron Hot Shot (or rather, Excellion). That figure looks spectacularly badass, has a decent transformation, a gimmick that adds some flair and isn't intrusive, cool colors, a head that actually turns, and a very practical gun.
I got this toy for Christmas once while my brother got the cool motorcycle with the 2 Minicons and alliance switch gimic... shows how my family loved me...
And after rewatching this particular oldie episode for this Halloween: I'm pretty glad to have the Henkei version of Hot Shot with the chrome guns and the epic lightpiped eyes! XD
I know You have some feelings towards Hotshot as a character but, you like the Prime Bumblebee, and I assume you like blue also. How did you feel about the Prime RiD Hotshot?
Looking at the actual figure, i wonder how i could think that it would be "good". Even worse is that you put it next to his wavemate Inferno, a toy that's more interesting, that only suffers in leg mode.
Hm. The arm mode kinf of reminds me of the Armada Hotshot's gimmick with the 'boxing glove' forearms. And.... Can't believe you did that at the end. XP All in all, a good return to the Plastic Addict videos. Now to wait another month or two >w
@UnnamedSeeker I was debating whether or not that was correct or not. In the end I went with the version in the instructions as it's the only official reference I had. In the end the difference is negligible anyway, since the legs already hinge from that spot the difference isn't that great or helpful.
5:15 This literally happens to Bumblebee when I’m playing with Transformers: Generations action figures, only Bumblebee gets decapitated by one of the Predacons from the 1996-97 waves of Beast Wars toys whose name I can’t specify yet until Hasbro remakes him.
@durge12 You're right, I'm running out of material by reviewing another Hot Shot when it's only been 3 years since I reviewed the first, it's practically back to back. You're right, Sideswipe is worse, that doesn't change this toy's bad articulation, blocky design, or poor proportions. And really? Prowl? Grabbed him before doing this review, he has knees, full shoulders, articulate leg mode, good torso mode, stylish vehicle... Pretty sure your judgement is solely because of his squat robot mode.
Honestly despit his lack of articulation i allways loved energon hit shot. I feel like this is a servicable design if they wanted to every circle back to energon for the legacy or whatever comes down the road
@TJOmega Well, it IS a souped up Aston Martin, that front shape is unmistakable. And it has a radar dis guided missile launcher attached in a way that makes it look like some panels open up to allow it to fold out. Just give him a coat of metallic gray paint ant he'll look like your standard 90s Bondmobile.
Dont take these reviews so seriously, just because I make fun of it does not mean I'm going to get rid of it, and going around asking for handouts is not the best strategy in the first place.
I remember when I first saw this toy...good thing you and I think alike. He is a plastic brick indeed. Thank you sir for finally saying what needed to be said about this toy.
You should do something like "The competitionist, NG+", And look at old Plastic addict victims, but with the new writing/style of reviewing. Sorta like comparing where you came from to where you are now.
@UnnamedSeeker Cause it looked nothing like any James Bond car I've ever seen? There's a few similarities but nothing close enough to a real vehicle to make a reference.
at least u were nie about the combined part with him being top cuz he was the first one with the red truck then combined them then kept them and hot shot wa my favorite caracter from the armada since i grew up on that every morning but i liked it was easy to change.
That was my first Energon toy to get. Always thought the face looked puffy. And yes that head coming from the back bothered me. Same for Rodimus. Yet I don't mind the rest. Not the best but ehhh there were still worse stuff. Great review still tj.
@vamspapi I never said I abandoned them, people just assumed it. Just because I rarely do episodes does not mean it's abandoned, only that I can't get to them as fast as people want.
Yup, he's crap, alright. I just donated all of my Unicron Trilogy toys to my friends, who have 9 adopted children, and their boys love them even if they are bricks! I sometimes wish I could step into the wayback and just appreciate some of these figures for being fun to run around with yelling "Pow! Pow!", but my adult sensibilities are insulted by such poor engineering and design. Excellent review, TJ! Hope to see more Addict soon. We've all been having withdrawals!
I always wondered why you dispised this figure, i thought it was out of spite of Armada Hot Shot. But now i see. Thanks for showing me the light. Also Cybertron Hot Shot i guess you treat seperatley from the previous counterparts which i good. Both Cybertron toys were cool.
I actually like this toy a little bit, and I LOVE his torso mode combined with Rodimus. I've never liked Inferno's Leg Mode. It's so hindered and brickish.
SO, TJ, asking your opinion: Which version of Armada Hot-Shot gets the Go-Ahead for putting into a collection? I'm partial to the Super Mode one/which is an homage to Rodimus and the Universe version.
Since you've done one of the worst Energon toys, would you consider doing one of the better toys? With Takara Tomy releasing Sharkticon for the first time to the Japanese market he and Slugslinger could do with a bit more exposure.
i like this car actually, i do prefer the collectors club nightbeat though in this mold, but i do like this mold its a cool chunky robot.. and he looks best in robot mode, with the doors down instead of up ... just having them be down kinda aganist his arms
Thank goodness both versions of Cybertron Hot Shot were actually good.
Yeah I really liked Cybertron Defense Hotshot.
all 3 of them
@@masterfarr8265 Technically it's only two molds, his third toy was just a redeco.
@@OtakuUnitedStudio that third one is a whole other character too
@@OtakuUnitedStudio Actually its three. The OG, the CD, and the Legends Class
Yes, the joint that connects the toys is universal.
Except the development time for the toys is longer than the show, the animation was based on the final toy design, which is why they're accurate. So that doesn't really save the design of the toy.
Agreed.

The two Cybertron Hot Shots were gifts from God compared to the Energon and Armada ones.
TransformerFan Bryan and the universe one wasn't too bad.
That's true, but the Cybertron ones were still superior.
TransformerFan Bryan true
@@twilight_phantom2969 I am in need of the left arm of the energon version!
and the Siege one
0:57 bruticus is in the house!
FreedomTrain24 Y'know I'm kinda imature like that to think that's pretty damn funny with the cursing.
he even does his own back up vocals
I got this toy for Christmas once while my brother got the cool motorcycle with the 2 Minicons and alliance switch gimic... shows how my family loved me...

I know You have some feelings towards Hotshot as a character but, you like the Prime Bumblebee, and I assume you like blue also. How did you feel about the Prime RiD Hotshot?
Lol as a kid this was my hands down favorite toy. Funny to get a new perspective
Johnny Longtorso! Johnny Longtorso! The man who comes in pieces! *Whip sound* He's long!
i love this figure, it's my second favorite in All of energon@
I like inferno as the torso and hot shot as the legs, cuz it has awesome cannons.
LOL. RID Bruticus rap made me laugh so hard. Keep up the good work Tj.
A bland vehicle- doesn't stick out- disguise- DO YOU GET IT
Wow, "Plastic surgery" xD
I really think cybertron HotShot makes up for the character!
Its a very neat fig!
I have the same fantasy with my Energon Rodimus.
This guy was my childhood
You actually scared me during the executioner scene, at 2 in the morning on Halloween.
Представь себе, что было бы, если бы в Армаде он все-таки соединился с Джетфайером.
Another plastic addict? THIS IS THE BEST HALLOWEEN GIFT EVER!
I think it's better than Armada Hot Shot
Looking at the actual figure, i wonder how i could think that it would be "good".
Even worse is that you put it next to his wavemate Inferno, a toy that's more interesting, that only suffers in leg mode.
3 hot shots on this show now thats dedication
Also, the car hood opens the wrong way, what repairman would be able to fix a car while lying on top of the roof?
lots of car hoods open that way, like the dodge viper for example
Really? guess im just out of touch :P
Joshua Jin some car hoods do open that way, however when they do open that way they open out quite far so the guy can actually get into it
DarkstarGaming just like the BMW e30 3 series
Or the DMC-12 oh wait that was for the trunk.
In my opinion and defense. I really really really enjoyed this figure. He was my first transformer that I got in sixth grade.
Hm. The arm mode kinf of reminds me of the Armada Hotshot's gimmick with the 'boxing glove' forearms. And.... Can't believe you did that at the end. XP All in all, a good return to the Plastic Addict videos. Now to wait another month or two >w
nice use of the prop ax you found
and kudos for the universe 2.0 hot shot cameo
To be fair TJ, you could use the shoulder dislocation joint for leg mode as an outward movement joint...
@UnnamedSeeker I was debating whether or not that was correct or not. In the end I went with the version in the instructions as it's the only official reference I had. In the end the difference is negligible anyway, since the legs already hinge from that spot the difference isn't that great or helpful.
if i recall, leg mode also had you further extend out the legs in order to make the combined bot taller

are you going to buy transformers prime hot shot
I want to see hotshot combined with himself. I want to see ANY energon combined with himself.
You should do something like "The competitionist, NG+", And look at old Plastic addict victims, but with the new writing/style of reviewing. Sorta like comparing where you came from to where you are now.
JaAm! nice to see your reviews again.
5:18 OFF WITH HIS HEAD!
Great job TJ amazing as always
my energon hotshot had really poor quality control it's right arm kept falling off so as a Kid I never played with it much
Honestly the quality that most main Hot Shot figures have is quite depressing, but hey at least Excellion is nice
I swear to god I had this guy’s hood only as a kid. I gotta find it again for comparison.
You should have used the Universe Predacon Bruticus, so he'll look like he physically improved
HE'S INFECTED HE SAID THE ARMADA ONE WAS GOOD CALL CSI
YAY! Good to see you bring back Plastic Addict.
i am thinking up a design for a Bumblebee toy that would be like this toy, but awesome and fun to play with
@UnnamedSeeker Cause it looked nothing like any James Bond car I've ever seen? There's a few similarities but nothing close enough to a real vehicle to make a reference.
Was this the toy that got bumped from the list of the worst five and was replaced by ROTF Demolisher?!
Robot Rapper. That kinda works?😎
That first intro scene with the Lightsaber really makes me think Tyler could actually audition for a Star Wars film and make it.
Happy Halloween, TJ. Thank god that I didn't get him.
I can imagine what would happen if the plastic addict was a toy designer for Hasbro
We'd get cool toys...with higher prices. Maybe. What do you think, TJOmega?
I feel he was a bit harsh on this one, it matches the show perfectly
at least u were nie about the combined part with him being top cuz he was the first one with the red truck then combined them then kept them and hot shot wa my favorite caracter from the armada since i grew up on that every morning but i liked it was easy to change.

At least RID Bruticus got an awesome new toy repaint of Cybertron Scourge.
Super Hotshot :D
Loving your reviews as always, TJ

For the record, I had Energon Hot Shot when I was a kid, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Go figure.
You've done it again! Can't wait to see another toy get melted down by insults.
i loved the toys from the unicron trilogy
I always wondered why you dispised this figure, i thought it was out of spite of Armada Hot Shot.
But now i see. Thanks for showing me the light.
Also Cybertron Hot Shot i guess you treat seperatley from the previous counterparts which i good. Both Cybertron toys were cool.
The vehicle mode reminds me of an Aston Martin Vanquish, bexause they both have the same grill and no personallity at all
Inferno’s guest-starred in two plastic addicts now. Huh.
I actually like this toy a little bit, and I LOVE his torso mode combined with Rodimus. I've never liked Inferno's Leg Mode. It's so hindered and brickish.
I acctually like energon hotshot
just for nostalgic pourpouses
now lets see your review
SO, TJ, asking your opinion: Which version of Armada Hot-Shot gets the Go-Ahead for putting into a collection? I'm partial to the Super Mode one/which is an homage to Rodimus and the Universe version.
Loves the Inferno and I wish I got the Prowl one.
Good to see that you put that axe to good use. I used to have one just like it, but I threw it away a few months ago... wait.
@ItsFuzzyMeatloaf Nowhere in the video did I say it was in the worst 5 so no, it's not in the worst 5.
I didn't mind the look of energon hotshot in his vehicle mode and I really wish I had the two cybertron hotshots
Wow, judging from the seemingly well designed joints and body proportion, is that Henkei/Classic Hot Shot in the end of the video?
One thing that sucks about my Energon Hot Shot is that I have two right arms
I feel bad for Hot Shot. Poor guy can't catch a break.
I actually enjoy this figure...
Same.
I just got hotshot into a cool gun shot pose to the side, by un tabing the arms. shure it looks a litle funky , but he can look and shoot to the side.
Inferno for top + Rodimus for legs = The best Powerlink combination I used as a kid. :D
@quebecprime Did you see the Worst 5 board? Did I say it was the 2nd Worst? Is it labeled the 2nd Worst like all the others were labeled Worst?
Inferno works better as the top half. So that wave consisted of two tops. Sounds like a Grindr date gone wrong.
@Barber100Dr No need. I don't own the toy though and from looking at it I wouldn't call it bad enough anyway.
Since when did Dr. Frankenstein stand around with one arm pointing outwards while wearing yellow gloves?
He looks like a replica aston matrin
The powerlinking gimmick was awesome, I hope they do it again
5:31
It's DULL SURPRISE!!
Hay. I m gonna b annoyin. is dis part of top 5?
I kid, I kid. Nice to see a new Plastic Addict.
So do you count the Cybertron Hot Shots as successful TJOMEGA?
I liked the IDEA of power linking transforners i just wish it wasnt all the atoubots
It wasn’t all of them technically, the Omnicons can’t powerlink
Since you've done one of the worst Energon toys, would you consider doing one of the better toys? With Takara Tomy releasing Sharkticon for the first time to the Japanese market he and Slugslinger could do with a bit more exposure.

When it changed to it transformer mode, your facial expression said all, my god, I almost fell it from my chair when I saw it O.O
@TJOmega
and actually universe hotshot looks like a classics jolt
take a look and you'll see it
XP
To be fair, that gun looks damn cool
