I just got a 2022 720S ludus blue with red stitching, seat belts and calipers with CF spoiler. I love the car. I actually really like the folding display. It is so cool. I didn’t get the photochromatic roof. I didn’t like the blue hue when the roof is dark.
Brilliant review Brian!
Some info (I have a spider):
- both doors have a (tiny) storage compartiment (it auto-locks when you open the door so your items can't fall out)
- you can change the setting in Iris so the driver panel doesn't drop down when switching to track mode
- albeit I find that annoying too (and don't understand either why the engineers shaved off weight everywhere but add this gimmick), I switched it back on as it is then obvious you are in Track mode. Why? Track mode isn't only about the suspension config, but also reduces the ESC by 80%. This is not something I want on the public roads :)
- Ground clearance is amazing. I've used the nose lift only twice in 6,000mi... in the UK, land of the potholes and gello roads :)
Thanks, Michael. I never get enough time to play with any car thoroughly and often miss some details. Other channels do a much better job with the quirks etc 😂. I have to use the lift regularly whether I’m in Toronto or LA. Love the car. Enjoy yours!
Excellent review 😎👍👍👍
💯👌🏾
Great review ... btw, the coupe you drove must have been a very early car - both the nose lift button and the grate in the door in my 720s coupe are exactly as you have in that spider. There’s also a well hidden cubbyhole in the doors.
Keep up the great work!
It definitely was an early car.
Hi Brian ..howz the ground clearance when driving within city...car looks amazing
Hey Sudhir, no issues, it's got a front axle lift thing. Where I live the roads are crappy, but driveways aren't that steep.
Is there an increase in power from E-85?
Uh, why?
Brian Makse want to know. Auto facts are a good thing.
I saw a piece on a koenigsigg the got a significant increase in power on the E-85. Just wondering if this or any McLaren’s get a boost in HP.
New 720S spider or a used 675LT spider ? I think my money would go on the more engaging to drive 675LT which has also bottomed out in its depreciation curve so will ultimately cost less money to own now. They still are cool as hell and look like a more co -ordinated and sexier design overall. 720S is definitely more modern and out there on looks but the 675LT just looks sublime and spot on in every conceivable way IMHO. 675LT will be a classic just like the Ferrari Challenge Stradale
I like the 720 socket headlight more. Hard to believe Mclaren has only been making road cars for less than 20 years.
What orange is it?
Don't remember, that was a year ago.
It looks like Papaya Spark Orange to me
You didn’t seem to have your usual enthusiasm during this review. Granted, you already reviewed the coupe but this is the one that gives you the best of both and you seemed less than thrilled.
I don’t even remember that, probably over two years ago. If anything, I may have been frustrated with the shoot because there would have been a mileage limitation and no decent roads to drive within that limit!
This car is sexy has hell but I preferred the colors of the hard top 720s the orange one who looks a bit more coppers 😍😍 and just to say if you think the roads around Toronto are craps don’t ever come to Quebec as soon as you cross the line between Ontario and Quebec you think you’ve been teleporting right into the jungles just to say this week a guy who just bought a motorcycles brand New caught a pothole on the streets and totally destroyed the new bike and nothing caused it no others cars nobody walk across the street nothing the guy just couldn’t escaped it you can swerved a couples ones but theirs so many of themes that one times or another’s your gonna caught one and also the motorcycle was not a racers one it was the kinda bike to cross the dessert and it got destroyed by a pothole in the middle of the streets and not long after the pothole was repaired because this happened so often that since many years the city doesn’t feel responsible for things like this but we’re paying more and more taxes
Claude, I guess you're new to the channel. We've shot a number of episodes in Quebec. I don't necessarily disagree on the condition of the roads.
Why when you can get a C8!
You can't get a C8 today, nor can you get a C8 convertible today.
patday36 Because,,,,,,,,,,,McLaren.
