Glad you did because I didn't and I'm not the only one who liked the MT-07 better. On Zach's 2021 MT-07 daily ride, he said it too and rated the MT-07 pretty high. OG motovlogger Jake liked the MT-07 better. I thought people were nuts saying the MT-07 was better until I got one. However, it depends on your preferences. I'm glad you like the MT-09. You can't go wrong with any of the MT bikes. I'm just sharing my opinion and how I feel. The sales man tried to sell me a 2022 MT-09 SP that had been sitting for a week, just felt like the same as the previous MT-09 to me.
@@CycleCruza should have definitely tried the MT09 sp if you had the chance. Nothing wrong with the MT07 either. Just a smaller, low powered bike. Definitely optimal for ppl who don’t want something so obnoxious.
@@andygood4127 There are other motovloggers that went from the MT-09 to the MT-07. It feels just as torquey/punchy as the MT-09 but the MT-07 chassis feels better for me. I do love the CP3 engine, I just didn't like the MT-09 chassis.
The MT-09 is a better bike in all aspects except price and weight. BTW, you are constantly comparing two different generations of bikes, the newer gen. MT-09 has different chassis and geometrics, etc. Stop comparing a crappy unadjustable MT-07 suspension to an adjustable 09 stock suspension. Please let Yamaha know they are selling the better bike cheaper. ;)
Fact is the MT-07 sells better than the MT-09. They had a new 22' MT-09 SP at the dealership and it sat on the floor for over a week unlike an MT-07 that is rarely in stock. I hate the banana seat on the old and new NT-09. I love the MT-09 triple cylinder engine though. I already did a grip of videos on the MT-09, getting the new bike wouldn't add much content. However, I truly think the MT-07 is a better urban city bike than the MT-09. However, you can't go wrong with any of the MT bikes.
Some people just look at the specs on paper and it doesn't seem like much but when you ride it you realize this is a special bike. It surprised me being so fun. That's why I says you have to ride a bike a bike before you can truly know how the bike is. Some bikes look impressive on paper and are not that fun to ride in reality, and vice versa.
1 major thing is the mt09 will be much better for long rd trips over the mt07. For example going from indianapolis indiana down into mexico or further.
I think the naked 650cc class strikes the right balance between price, performance, and fun. It's hard to go wrong with any of them. My personal favorites are the SV650, XSR700, and Z650RS. I don't need any more power than what these bikes produce.
Couldn't be happier watching you content of this bike. You have rich knowledge of what you are talking about. You've already been through all the phases and make sense of the best bike to buy. You're reasonings just make so much sense. Thank you for serving us with your content.
Thanks for viewing! It comes down to your preferences in a bike. After all of these years and twelve bikes I realized the smaller quick bikes are the most fun around town where we spend most of out time at. However, it is nice to have many different bikes in the garage to choose from. I hope to be adding some more but the MT-07 and supermoto are staying.
nahx just sell it cyclecruza, stop lying to yourself... mt09 got more torque more power.... and it weigh almost the same as the mt07 with inverter fork as well!
I'm the not only who felt like this, check out Zach's review of the 2021 Yamaha MT-07 on the Daily Ride. He also liked it better than the MT-09. OG motovlogger Jake has raved about the FZ-07/MT-07 since they first came out. Off the line they are about the same and on the highway wasn't much difference for me which I show you in the video. Top end is about 10 mph more on the 1/4 mile. MT-07 chassis is much better! I did not expect the MT-07 to be so fun but man it is.
@@davidleonard8369 I don’t know…I’ve had both and currently my FZ09 destroys the 07s with a slip on as the only mod (engine wise) …the 07 is definitely fun but to say it’s comparable is a lie 😂…put it this way, I’d wager my house in a race against any 07
@@CycleCruza I get what your saying but the 09 isn’t much heavier and has waaaay more power even down low, the 09 will wheelie the first 3 gears on throttle alone …but definitely the sound of the 07 is music to my ears
It’s not always about what has the most power. There are tons of people who will say the mt07 is just the better bike. Perfect amount of power to have fun with.
cyclecruza with all the respect, you haven't ridden 21+ mt 09 yet, so please stop assuming. I have 21 mt 09 and have ridden both newer gen of 07 and 09 and from my experience 09 is a lot better. From power to torque, suspension, and etc. Please ride on newer gen before you talk shit lol. I love your contents and this is first vid that i don't agree on.
The triple cylinder is nice but the cp2 sounds better and mt-07 has a better chassis to me. It just comes down to your preferences tho. You can't go wrong with any of the MT bikes.
Man, i must add one more comment. You are by far the most honest and realistic motorcycle RUclipsr i saw till today. Really, thanks for talking truth. There's so much bias about motorcycles and big bikes/big power necessity myths, and I'm so happy you aren't going for it. Thanks again and keep up the great work! 👍
After owning both I love the cp3 surge. But the 07 all day is usable power, banging the throttle. Personally I'm a big guy and the 07 just didn't cut it for me on the highway. If Yamaha ever makes a bigger version of the cp2 I'm all over it!
I look like a bear riding a tricycle when I had one. No worries. It still made me smile under my helmet. I miss it after owning my CBR954 on the street and tracking an R6 for a few years. supersports are so boring on the streets compared to that fz I had
I feel like you do not like the mt09 because it was not made for you. And you did not do the correct mods, vcyclenut ECU flash!!! It's a must. mine would power wheelie in fourth gear at 100 miles an hour with the stock gearing. Racing from a complete stop or a roll nothing ever beat me to 120 mph and I ride with some fast bikes , I kept the stock suspension but I did a big weight reduction and I got a 2014 FZ 09 down to 394lb.
Haven't watched your videos in over 5 years.. and man.. you still got amazing content bro! Nice to see you still getting it done out here on these streets!
Ive been looking at the Suzuki gsx s1000GT+ for 3k more you get a tour bike thats also a liter bike that you can go anywhere with. The only problem with the smaller bikes is you cant travel longer distance with them. Ive been getting bored just riding in my town ive been wanting to go exploring.
The MT09 has won many accolades on international bike review channels. I wouldn't discard it Cruza, low down torque isn't everything. How did the MT07 compare to other Middleweight machines on handling and suspension?
I still love my FZ07 even after 4 years of riding one. I have 39k miles on mine and it's still running stout! If you want even more excitement off the line, swap out the throttle tube with one for a r6. You'll thank me later! Ride on 🤙
I have 1/8th mile time on both bikes after many Dragy runs. (intake/exhaust/tune on both): 2019 MT09 - 0-60mph - 2.70sec 6.86 @ 106.02mph 2018 MT07 - 0-60mph - 3.17sec 7.38 @94.69mph It is quite a power difference especially on the highway but I too like the MT07 better. Riding slower bikes harder is sometimes more fun. Plus the MT09 throttle jerkiness is unforgivable.
You failed to mention one thing. The CP2 engine is one of the most reliable power plants of all time in motorcycling. Talked to my dealer and they sold them since 2014 and had yet to have a single one with issues. Not one. My gf has a 2021 MT07 and the engine is bloody amazing. And I have had an MT09, Hornet 750 and a 1050XT last years. And none of them sounds like the CP2. It simply sounds like it will never ever break down. And if you are tall, you might be better served by the Tracer 7 if you like the CP2 engine.
As a person that rode an fz07 for three years I can say that they are crazy fun bikes. I switched up to an fz09 this season and I'm not looking back. I wish I could have both but if I have to pick one I'm keeping the 09. you can say what you what you want about how quick an 07 is but the lack of power is really the only reason I switched. I was bored of the power after the first 1000 miles. it's all subjective.
Awesome video. Honestly can't go wrong with either MT07 or MT09. The MT07 is much more usable in the everyday city riding. But having owned a MT07 and now having a MT09 SP. It's not truly comparable the two bikes. As buying a base model MT09 doesn't make sense. As if you buy a MT09 and buy the upgrades to make it equal to the SP model. You'll spend more than just buying the SP from the off. The MT07 is great in city. But if you ride and commute into the city and also ride in the mountains. As here in north Georgia it's roughly near 2 hours to my favourite mountain, Blood Mountain. I think the MT09 SP is the better option. As commuting everyday you can't under sell cruise control. Relaxing on the highway seemingly makes the trip shorter and more enjoyable. As you said it comes down to each rider's wants. Either way the MT lineup is my favourite lineup ever. A new rider could start on a MT03, become a experienced rider and easily move to the MT07 or MT09 SP.
All of the MT bikes are great in their own way and you can't go wrong with any of them. I'm just sharing why I like the MT-07 better for me and my preferences. I saw Motonosity ride the new MT-09 SP and he said it felt slower than his 2014 MT-09. I haven't rode the new MT-09 so I can't comment but I will say I did take my MT-07 in the twisties and man does it flick nice, I was whipping it around like nothing. As shown in the video, highway performance between the 2020 MT-09 and 2022 MT-07 didn't seem much different, both didn't do much in 6th gear and both were ok in 4th passing but they both were fine on the highway, nothing spectacular like the Tuono v4 I owned which was a rocket on the highway but I don't ride the highway much so it doesn't mater to me. I just wanted a city hood holligan bike with a nice sound track, cable throttle and some bottom end grunt and this mt-07 is perfect for me. I really don't care for ride-by-wire throttle, feels unnatural.
@@CycleCruza I think you should have taken a 2022 mt 09 sp for a demo you would have maybe changed your mind on it they changed 90% Of the bike from the 2nd gen. It’s almost a different bike. The look now mt 07 looks better that’s why I bought mine 4 years ago. But my mt 09 sp is growing on me lol tail cover made all the difference fixed that ugly seat..
You do sell it well.... With so many great choices out there, I know that you put a lot of reasearch into finding what fit YOU best. Kudos for finding what works for you. Now I look forward to see what your passion for motorcycles will make of your Beautiful MT07!
Cruza the 21/22 mt09 chassis is all new frame and swingarm and I can tell yah the sp handles and feels top notch amazing! The great thing about the advanced state of motorcycle engineering & design is it offers so much variety and models to choose from with their inherent trade-offs/ pros and cons that the difficulty is picking the one machine that gives yah the most satisfaction and usability. The mt07 clicks a lot of boxes for me too.
To me as long as it brings a smile to your face it doesn't really matter what bike you ride.. I love the Gsxr750..I've had it for almost 4 yrs now. Most of my rides are under 65mph..strangely my back or my wrist don't hurt at all after 2-3 hours of riding.Ive rode from Miami to orlando 3 tines on it with no issues.. got rained on and it handled the wet conditions just fine ..no need for traction control if you got good throttle discipline. .its good on gas if you keep it under 8k rpms.(85-90mph ,6th gear 7-8k rpms) ..it weighs 419lbs with a full tank.125 Rwhp which is PLENTY..handling is outstanding. Decent brakes with a cpl mods... I don't care for Tech and gizmos..I just ride to ease my mind and explore...I'm not chasing any lap times..I just love the look of the bike.. occasionally I take it on the hwy super early and push it hard.. would like a smaller bike but ppl drive crazy down here in south florida.. I know if I need to GET AWAY ,This bike will hit 140mph+ REAL QUICKKKK.. thats why she's a keeper.. Great Review as always CYCLECRUZA.. this is my fav MOTO CHANNEL on youtube.. no ego..no bs.. just a man having fun.. MUCH RESPECT
Fresh out of my driver's license for motorcycles, the school I went to uses ONLY Yamaha MT-07's, anywhere from 2019 to 2022 right now. I have used the '19 for 12 hours (3 lessons of 4 hours each) during the inital manouvres course (slow and fast slaloms, emergency stop, U turns and such things). Then I used the '22 version for 12 hours (3 lessons of 4 hours each) during the lessons riding in traffic. This is EASILY a great beginners bike, it is extremely easy to handle, light in weight (relatively), it's got enough power on tap for both city and highway environments, it is very comfortable although I wouldn't really suggest touring with it (you will get sore after a few hours). It is also reasonably cheap on the user market AND most importantly, riding it is genuinely a lots of fun because it's nimble and agile and powerfull enough. Not sure about the 09 as I haven't tried it yet though, very curious about how it's going to feel after having ridden the 07 consistently.
dude you have to adjust the suspension to your weight and driving style. these bikes often times come from the dealership not even set to stock settings. some kid throws it together and that's it. he/she might leave the clickers and preload at a complete random spot. all the in or all the way out. they don't care and even if they do it's not setup for YOU
I don't know about the 890 but I didn't like sitting on the 1290, big hump of a tank. One of the great things I love about the new mt-07 is it has an old skool cable clutch/throttle and no intrusive electronic rider aides. Most of the new bikes have all of the electronic bs. Ride-by-wire throttles feel artificial to me.
Everything you're saying is exactly what I said when I owned my 07. Owned a 2017 FZ07 and now a 2021 MT09SP. I fully agree about the 1st and 2nd gen MT09s. I test rode them a bunch of times and couldn't get into them. Rode them stock and modified. Just felt like and amazing engine in a sloppy chassis with subpar suspension. However, 3rd gen MT09 came out, test rode it, and placed an order the next day. It is worlds better than the previous generations and the bike it should have always been. I think you should make it clear that you're referring to the previous gen 09s. It's not just slightly updated, it's a different bike. You owe it to yourself to give it a ride to see the difference.
I did show that I owned a 2020 Yamaha MT-09 in the video. They did make some positive changes with the 3rd gen but as I mentioned it still has a supermoto-like chassis, banana seat and a ride-by-wire throttle that I don't care for. The salesman tried his best to sell me a New MT-09 SP that had been sitting on the floor for a week but I passed. Really, it comes down to personal preference and you can't go wrong getting any of the MT bikes. They are all tuned with great bottom end grunt that is great for the street.
@@CycleCruza but did you ride it? You're going off your experiences with the 2nd gen MT09. Not trying to sell you on a new 09, just saying you should make it clear that your comparison is based on the 2nd gens.
I think you really have to have ridden the new MT09 before writing it off. At 6ft3 I find the MT07 too small for me, otherwise I’d have probably have got one. Got no regrets about my MT09SP
It is not that much of a difference between last generation and the new MT-09, both have the same supermoto-like chassis, banana seat and ride-by-wire throttle that I don't like. As stated in the video, it comes down to your preferences, you can't go wrong any of the MT bikes, they are all tuned with bottom end grunt. I'm just saying the new MT-07 is best for me and my preferences.
@@CycleCruza There is a huge difference with the MT09 and the new MT09, but it mostly caters even more to the people that already loved the MT09, not raw feel supermoto enthusiasts. But it’s a huge margin better as a track bike and a sports bike. I agree with this video though. I have the new XSR900(exact same as new MT09) and I miss my FZ07. Might buy a used one in the future. Very different types of ride.
@@CycleCruza All the reviews say the chassis and throttle are much improved on the new model and I personally don’t have any issues with either. I changed my MT09 seat to the OEM comfort seat and much prefer it. Would defo like to try an MT07, Yamaha definitely got it right with all the CP motors it seems. Only negative i have with the MT09 with the electronics is that the ABS kicks in too soon when it’s dry, comes on when there’s still grip left so i pull the fuse on that if I’m riding hard
@@CraigSmith568 The swingarm is the only difference. I've ridden MT09s and it is nearly identical. Chassis, frame, wheels, engine, suspension, handlebars, foot positioning, the way it corners, are all nearly identical. The only difference is that its a little bit more stable in corners and you are slightly more bent over on the XSR. They adjusted the overall geometry to account for the slightly longer swingarm so that handling feels the same on corner turn-in (I can attest to that)
I recently had a chance to ride both of these bikes. Mt-07 with full exhaust and the Mt09 stock. Even stock I thought the Mt09 sounded much better. Power delivery is much smoother, though its a little more sensitive. The Mt09 is a lot more powerful all across the range. Ergos, I like Mt07 better. Looks, the Mt07 is also better. As someone who owned a Tuono V4 as well its hard to make that transition. Most of the roads are flat and straight here in Minnesota. There isnt a lot of curves. Having wind protection is more important then corning for me. I was ultimately disappointed and found myself missing my Tuono. Planning on test riding the Street Triple RS next.
I've heard a lot of people say the like the mt07 better. Perfect for street. Plenty of torque, wheelie monster but not enough to get you in trouble like mt09. May upgrade from the duke 390 but the tech on these is so nice.
if you are a street rider, this is all you need. 0-70 mph is just as fast as a supersport. anything over that on the street doesn't even matter because of traffic. go to the track if you wanna feel fast.
It's funny, I went to the dealership and was looking to buy an MT07. It was Jan. 2018 - They had a new red 2017 MT07, new '17 (gen 2) gray MT09, and new blue '17 XSR900 siting next to each other. The MT07 felt better than MT09 just sitting on it and it felt like a "nicer bike" looking at in in the showroom. But after seeing the XSR and sitting on it, I knew that was my bike. To me it's nicer than either of the MTs as far as just what you see.. perceived quality and how "premium" it is. No test rides available so I didn't ride any of them before I bought the XSR. I think I made the right choice for me but the MT07 is no joke, it's a really cool bike. I definitely would miss that triple, but I'd like a bike with that CP2 engine someday. CP2 sounds amazing. I don't think it sounds better than a screaming triple, but it's just as good, just different. It's all personal preference at the end of the day anyways. Good time to be a motorcyclist. 👍 I wonder what the landscape will look like in ten years?
You picked a great bike. In ten years we may have some good affordable electric bikes available. But again electric is not the same as a gas engine Ride safe my friend.
It's not! I've had an MT07 and just bought a new MT09, it's way better than the old MT09 and way better than an MT07, I'd say your 09 must of had problems, mine pulls like a train in 6th
The discrepancy between the quarter mile times could be mostly overcome by putting a quick shifter on the MT-07. Would probably bring it to within three tenths of a second.
Good Brother, I have been watching your channel since I got into riding. You are by far my favorite and most entertaining RUclipsr. However, lauding this beginner bike as if it were better than the next level bike in Yamaha’s MT line up is too, too much of a reach. Bruh, someone commented that you’re trying to justify buying this beginner bike and I tend to agree. You’ll be selling this bike soon and I’ll be tuning in to see more great content. Have your fun Brother but get back on something with some real low end grunt and overall power.
I would not recommend a MT-07 as a beginner bike, the mt-03 but not the mt-07. However, some people start on a mt-07 and do ok. If you go look at my first ride on the mt-09 I was not all that impressed as I was with eh first ride on the mt-07. The MT-07 is a keeper, I never said that about the mt-09. The YZ and MT-07 will be keepers. You should test ride the 2021+ MT-07 because you don't understand like I didn't until rode it.
@@CycleCruza Brother, you're my guy all day, every day. However, I'd like to see you on something more exciting, more robust, more fitting of CycleCruza with the CBR 1000 double R (in my best CycleCruza voice). Brother, those videos were epic. Because of those videos, I purchased my first bike before I even took the MSS class - a 2014 CBR 600 RR. It was a bit too much for me but I grew into it. Bruh, why not try an MT 10, Speed Triple, or even the Z900?
Buying this bike was redundant. Give us a new experience! Please get a cruiser. Not because you’re old, but for content. We’d love to hear your views on the different types. Get those different types and talk about them. This bike is a waste of content. Sorry.
I slowed down the video and found that first gear took you up to 39mph before you shifted to 2nd on your MT-07 and 48mph on your MT-09 before you shifted to 2nd. Does this mean anything? No. Just sayin'! Hope you're having a good weekend CycleCruza!
I'm glad someone else noticed. I'm glad he likes the bike, but based on what I see on the MT07's dash when he's accelerating, he's hyping it up a little too much. Now that xDiavel he had, that was worthy of the hype in terms of acceleration. That thing was a beast. Apples and oranges for sure. But I'm just talking acceleration.
As owner of mt 09 2022 and mt07 2015,they are not even close. On highway mt07 s 5th and 6th gear is unusable. Mt09 is much more powerful ,also better sound. Mt07 is beginner bike more flickable and better for the city everyday riding. Those bikes are not in the same league. And I really love my mt 07!!!
I also enjoy the 07 more than the 09. Had two 07s then got a 09. The 07 was more nimble, narrow, and lighter while still having fun usable power. I also think it looks and sounds better. Numbers on your part don’t tell the full story. The 09 is cool no doubt but I still preferred the character of the 07 over the 09
They are 2 totally different bikes for totally different purposes. And you cannot compare the engines man, come on it is like comparing apples to oranges, both are fruits, both are round, but...
MT07 all day! Rode my boy’s xsr900 a few times. It’s fast on the top end and all but my MT07 just fits me all around. We did a few pulls and of course he dusted me after about 90 mph, but being practical, I don’t need to go 100+ all the time. MT07 pulls away at a stop for a few seconds all the time. On the twisties, I’ve always kept up with the xsr900 unless there’s a long straightaway. The mt07 is just right. It even kept up with other super sport bikes until there’s a long straightaway, doing spirted rides in the twisties.
I rode the 2019 mt09 and the 2022 mt09. Trust me my friends they are complete different. The new gen can beat an r1 off the line and hold its owns up to 70 mph then the r1 pulls
The one thing that confuses me with you is it seems like you love every bike when you get it then when you get a new bike suddenly you have a different opinion on the last one.
I could go in so many different directions, I don't love my 2022 MT07, But I don't love my 2 HD's either. simplistic motorcycle with a lot of grunt , It is becoming a blast to ride. My favorite of my 3 is my 2014 Street glide. This has the perfect balance of torque, HP and weight for this 5'5" 160 lb 53 year old rider
Anytime anyone states their opinion and says a “lesser bike” on paper feels better than the MT09, all the 09 boys get fired up. The 09 is better in most ways to the 07, but cyclecruza is just stating his opinion through what I call a “butt dyno”. Put all specs aside and just ride the thing. When someone states they like a bike better doesn’t make it better. The insecurities I see from the 09 boys is embarrassing. This has been going on since 2014..
I hated the stock mirrors and bought some Kemimoto mirrors on Amazon for $35 and they actually mounted on the stock bar ends. Surprised by the quality for that price.
Those quarter mile times are bs. fz/mt09 run 10sek and sub fz/mt07 run 12sek and sub I have '18 mt07 stock besides exhaust and all stock '17 xsr900, and sorry difference in acceleration is huge, they simply cannot have almost the same times as you showed on vid. However I can agree with general better usability of mt07 in cities, as gearing is lower.
Best comparison video on the internet to date. The data doesnt lie, yet for all those on the fence on the MT-07 it is all in the ride itself and as Cruza pointed out the weight difference makes all the difference along with the comfort factor. Think I am going to add a bar riser myself even though you get a much better feel sitting upright I do find myself at touch of a forward lean, which can get the butt and back tightening, but usually only after 4-6 hour ride. MT-09 is a great bike and may fit some better, and although I never sat on an MT-09, at 6'1" and 220lbs the MT-07 fits like a glove, and is all about the riding experience. Great job gathering the data as it is undisputed, and if you are looking for a track bike, or you live in a region where twisty's are on every road you travel and you absolutely must take them at high speed then a front suspension adjustment/upgrade along with a replacement adjustable rear may be needed. If you like to just push the envelope and are not looking to break Maxwrist's Dragon time record, the MT-07 offers all anyone could want keeping in mind this is a hyper naked and not super sport. Again I have to say great video and info, and the most important to all no matter what you own, get out and ride!
Hey man just wanted to say love this video. This is the first of your videos that I've seen and I'm gonna subscribe. Iv only ridden my friend's sv650 in this format of motorcycle and am looking for that exact bike but maybe 20% more power. That would be the perfect bike to me so I think an MT07 would be perfect.
I think you get to a point that more power is useless for everyday drivers. I think these 600cc engines are about all yo need for everyday riding and even to have some fun!
i would agree that the power of an mt 07/xsr 700 is all you would ever need, but i have to say that the new 2022 xsr 900 looks *so* incredibly good, i just have to get one, even if its a little overpowered for my taste haha
You are entitled to your opinion... but I dont agree with it. Learned on a MT07 and got bored with it in the first week. Bought the gen3 MT09 SP and have zero regrets.... sorry but the 07 is just not in the same league IMO. Sure it's a bit lighter and therefore more agile, but that's its only advantage.
have an xsr700 I could have goten an XSR900 at almost at the same price. The dealer wanted to get rid of it because it was a year older. I decided I wanted the xsr700. It has more than enough torque and power for what I wanted. Also is lighter and easier to handle. For my style of riding I think I prefer the xsr700 or the mt07 over the xsr900 or mt09.
FZ-07 riding position is definitely more comfortable than the MT-09. Cycle cruza get a triumph trident and do a review on the triumph vs the Yamaha MT-07. Thanks bro!
Sometimes I just have no choice but to laugh my ass off at self professed experts on the net. Anyone that tries to claim a MT07 is better than a MT09 doesn’t know crap. You should have just said that the MT09 just scares the hell out of you.

help I need blue tooth can I get one that works with arai?
Having both bikes I can definitely say I’d take my MT09 any-day over the MT07.
he trying to convince himself after overspending on the bike...
I don’t know everybody, I’m not Jesus but CC is the only person I know you regressed when buying the MT series.
@@andygood4127 There are other motovloggers that went from the MT-09 to the MT-07. It feels just as torquey/punchy as the MT-09 but the MT-07 chassis feels better for me. I do love the CP3 engine, I just didn't like the MT-09 chassis.
*NEW VIDEO:* Yamaha MT-03 vs MT-07, which is BEST for Beginner Rider:
ruclips.net/video/MylOiq7jquA/видео.html
The 2021 MT09 has a all new chassis and KYB forks and rear shock plus the engine is now 890cc so apple's and oranges really.
There's a reason why the Mt07 is the #1 top selling bike in the whole lineup. You hit all the points bang on!

The mt 07 has shorter gearing in the first three gears so it rips off the line.

The triple on the 09 alone makes it better though.
The triple cylinder is nice but the cp2 sounds better and mt-07 has a better chassis to me. It just comes down to your preferences tho. You can't go wrong with any of the MT bikes.
Yeah that high tech steel tube BMX twisty-flex chassis is way better than the all new aluminum one on the new MT-09. 🤣
At 3:45 the guy walking by thought you were waving at him and waved back lol
After owning both I love the cp3 surge. But the 07 all day is usable power, banging the throttle. Personally I'm a big guy and the 07 just didn't cut it for me on the highway. If Yamaha ever makes a bigger version of the cp2 I'm all over it!
I look like a bear riding a tricycle when I had one. No worries. It still made me smile under my helmet. I miss it after owning my CBR954 on the street and tracking an R6 for a few years. supersports are so boring on the streets compared to that fz I had
there is a tracer version which is a bit more toury
Isn't the Suzuki more like 6K more? $7,899 vs $13,799.
@@CraigSmith568 I guess, usually if you wait for used they all equal out to the same price around 7-8k
The MT09 has won many accolades on international bike review channels. I wouldn't discard it Cruza, low down torque isn't everything. How did the MT07 compare to other Middleweight machines on handling and suspension?
The Tuono 660 is where it’s at
Drive by wire is a killer.
@@a124as doesn’t have to be but it so often is. A custom ECU shows how great it can be
@@a124as and which bike are you taking about ? The mt09 ?
I still love my FZ07 even after 4 years of riding one. I have 39k miles on mine and it's still running stout! If you want even more excitement off the line, swap out the throttle tube with one for a r6. You'll thank me later! Ride on 🤙
I have 1/8th mile time on both bikes after many Dragy runs. (intake/exhaust/tune on both):
2019 MT09 - 0-60mph - 2.70sec 6.86 @ 106.02mph
2018 MT07 - 0-60mph - 3.17sec 7.38 @94.69mph
It is quite a power difference especially on the highway but I too like the MT07 better.
I was bored of the power after the first 1000 miles. it's all subjective.
also maybe I'm out of my mind but at a measly 5'10" the 07 always felt small to me.
Never was, never will be...
Stop lying to yourself bro. Get the Mt10!
@@CycleCruza I think you should have taken a 2022 mt 09 sp for a demo you would have maybe changed your mind on it they changed 90%
Of the bike from the 2nd gen. It’s almost a different bike. The look now mt 07 looks better that’s why I bought mine 4 years ago. But my mt 09 sp is growing on me lol tail cover made all the difference fixed that ugly seat..
The MT07 comparison with Triumph Trident. Winner the Trident.
Moto Bob channel, different opinions.
What about reliability tho
You do sell it well.... With so many great choices out there, I know that you put a lot of reasearch into finding what fit YOU best. Kudos for finding what works for you. Now I look forward to see what your passion for motorcycles will make of your Beautiful MT07!
Yeah I love it but everybody has their own preferences.
Mt09 all day
Also the Trident.
Not sure about the 09 as I haven't tried it yet though, very curious about how it's going to feel after having ridden the 07 consistently.
dude you have to adjust the suspension to your weight and driving style. these bikes often times come from the dealership not even set to stock settings. some kid throws it together and that's it. he/she might leave the clickers and preload at a complete random spot. all the in or all the way out. they don't care and even if they do it's not setup for YOU
3:46 - Dude waved to you CycleCruza, showing his respect for your MT-07!
If you like the MT07 so much, you would love the 890 R.
Yep he should have got a 890R all day, its the Mt07 turned up a few notches, I love mine
What year was your mt09?
@@SoapsAreStupid The XSR900 has the same engine as the MT-09, but definitely not the same as an MT-09. The swingarm is a lot longer for one.
They adjusted the overall geometry to account for the slightly longer swingarm so that handling feels the same on corner turn-in (I can attest to that)
Ok, it's a nice bike. Nothing to get excited about. It gets you around the city adequately.
It is exciting to me, it is a hooligan bike and pulls wheelies up to third gear and sound is so nice with an exhaust.
nice review! what is your height??
8:25 The Tuono and CB650R are the real mvp’s when the other bikes have gone to sleep. The other bikes only win in first gear or off the line
You can hear the buyers remorse in his voice
@@EEEBA1 Thanks man. Yeah ride safe out there! People are crazy on the roads these days.
Which one is for a heavy rider for example for someone heavier than 225lb
It's not! I've had an MT07 and just bought a new MT09, it's way better than the old MT09 and way better than an MT07, I'd say your 09 must of had problems, mine pulls like a train in 6th
I wish suzuki would bring back the sv1000
Suzuki needs to up their game.
The mt09 is way faster than the mt07. They do not compare in the slightest
CycleCruza you always put a smile on my face 😁👌
The discrepancy between the quarter mile times could be mostly overcome by putting a quick shifter on the MT-07. Would probably bring it to within three tenths of a second.
Naw I ain't buying it. Could've gotten the triumph trident 660. Smh.
MT07 isn’t better, you just prefer it.
Buying this bike was redundant.
Give us a new experience!
Please get a cruiser.
Not because you’re old, but for content. We’d love to hear your views on the different types. Get those different types and talk about them.
This bike is a waste of content. Sorry.
I slowed down the video and found that first gear took you up to 39mph before you shifted to 2nd
on your MT-07 and 48mph on your MT-09 before you shifted to 2nd.
Now you just need to get an MT-10 to complete the trilogy!
Depends where you live. I travel mostly by highway and the MT-07 is just not good for highway riding.
There no replacement for displacement but nothing wrong with liking what you like
People have been raving about this bike ever since it came out, which is why they hold their value if check the price of second hand ones.
Please Put Akrapovic Exhaust on it and make a video . Stock exhaust feels boring.
Your not serious, MT-09 all day!!
How do you feel the xsr700 is compared to this?
I also enjoy the 07 more than the 09. Had two 07s then got a 09. The 07 was more nimble, narrow, and lighter while still having fun usable power. I also think it looks and sounds better. Numbers on your part don’t tell the full story. The 09 is cool no doubt but I still preferred the character of the 07 over the 09
They are 2 totally different bikes for totally different purposes. And you cannot compare the engines man, come on it is like comparing apples to oranges, both are fruits, both are round, but...
Most underrated channel I relate everything u say
Let’s go for a ride
I'll have to ride both next year to fully get a grasp of both bikes. Including the speed twin
I hated the stock mirrors and bought some Kemimoto mirrors on Amazon for $35 and they actually mounted on the stock bar ends. Surprised by the quality for that price.
Those quarter mile times are bs.
fz/mt09 run 10sek and sub
fz/mt07 run 12sek and sub
I have '18 mt07 stock besides exhaust and all stock '17 xsr900, and sorry difference in acceleration is huge, they simply cannot have almost the same times as you showed on vid.
Again I have to say great video and info, and the most important to all no matter what you own, get out and ride!
been thinking about getting an r7 until i seen these mt-0s. i think i’m gonna get a mt-07 😤
Yup, I can't even use more than 40% of my z900. These 200hp Superbikes and hyper nakeds are just to flex on bike night
I wish you started on the mt7 then the 9 then the 10,would be a logical advanced, but to each his own, glad your have fun
I have 09 now, but I own 2 x 07. 1st gen and 2nd gen and boyz CycleCruza don't lie. I love my 09 more but 07 is better suiting bike over all !
As much as I agree with the slower paced 07 being better, being a wheelie hooligan is no better than being a speed demon.
i would agree that the power of an mt 07/xsr 700 is all you would ever need, but i have to say that the new 2022 xsr 900 looks *so* incredibly good, i just have to get one, even if its a little overpowered for my taste haha
I have a 2017 mt07 an I love it light zippy but like u said needs an exhaust an it's a beauty ✨️
Good video bud thanks
