For a small porch thats thrown up some problems Steve.😳. You mentioned a heat pump drier. I got one last year and they are brilliant. 500w and no wasted heat. Wife has full permission to use anytime😁.

Why not 175mm Fibremesh Concrete raft with ample fibreboard around pipes…job done! Soil strata looks fine for raft with minimal loads for porch…

      @@SteveAndAlexBuild Steve,
It is a raft style foundation that is being suggested here.
But instead of traditional re-bar reinforcement fibre - mesh reinforcement is used. There are pros & cons to both systems.
And of course you know what "fibre-board" is for around the pipes...?

I cant believe you didn't pull the meter back a foot or so. There may have been a stop tap in the footpath or failing that squeezed it off with £50 tool, assuming 25mm poly.

Hi lads, question about the gap between internal and external bricks. Is the gap for insulation different for a porch compared to a house? I assumed it was 150mm but in this video the gap looks to be 50mm. I take it building regs for a porch are different to regs for the house?

@@SteveAndAlexBuild nah I understand that mate and it’s tough when you’ve done a days graft to motivate yourself to do another in the evening. Shame about the hip tho, one positive thing tho, I work with a guy who had his hip done last year and he’s got full movement again and full mobility for work. He just says “it feels great, I just don’t trust it the same as the other side”
