2D review of a 3D screen is bloody insane!
And if you watch it on a 3D Screen, it will glitch out and explode 😂
This is great, 3D should definitely make a comeback!
I love 3D tech and being able to convert any media to 3D is insane. I doubt its as good as intended 3D content but I'd have to see it in person.
If you love 3D, we're sure you'll love it. If you are not satisfied, there is an easy return policy. Order before March 31st and save $100. Happy to answer any questions!

I used to have a 3D HTC phone and back then it was mind blowing. This is such a cool technology and with how quickly it’s advancing along with AI this could be a brilliant sales point. I wish every screen was glasses free 3D - TV, car dials, phone and tablet etc.
I wish 3D didn't go out of fashion and i really hope for a strong comeback because i was from the few who actually liked it back then but i couldn't afford any of the TVs...
It could probably. New technologies, smaller pixels, 8k displays they can do this way better now. But I what I wanna see is transparent displays stacked together make a "real" 3D display.
I was one of the few that bought into 3D. I loved it for about a month but it got old quick. Even content specifically made and tuned for 3D, while pretty cool, didn't add very much. I feel the same about the theater experience.
@@Late_AyeF Watched Guardians of the Galaxy in 3D. That was a painful experience. Stereoscopic is just for the select few who can tolerate it.
3D VR glasses gaming and movie watching aint going anywhere. Theres no other way to make 360° 3D VR...unless you cover your entire room with 3D VR displays and can manage to get a PC to stitch them together. Floor will still be problematic though as that would require some seriesly tough glass 😊
@@Late_AyeF 3D was a trend everyone wore that shit cinema at the time required u to pay more for eye damaging 3d "glasses" m
so. you were not alone and it's and remains a gimmick
Looks super amazing!😍 I mean I had a Nintendo 3DS in the past and a 3D TV and I really miss this
This is insane !
Not bad at all. It's great to see technology getting better and better 🙂
Life is 2d , the 3rd dimensions doesn't exist and is created by your brain.
@@mrmando69 Your brain told you to believe that.
@Tanumoy Roy I made your brain reply. Your eyes can only see 2 dimensions , medical fact.
@@mrmando69 I have never disagree with this fact.
@@GeeknLonely do a video showing the 4d world then
Sounds interesting enough to want one...😊
I love 3d. I just got a Red hydrogen one . Love it and I'm now ready for bigher.
I remember using LG 3D phone sometime around 2011 men... it was a mind blowing tech that year it was really cool I'm glad to see it coming up again wish to have this as a gift 🎁 😀 😊 😄
not to mention zelda ocarina of time on 3ds. so cool
So are we getting a 3D era comeback?
Back with a bang! Its never been this good. Hope you get to see it soon Daniel! - Marlon
I need to see 3DS emulation on this
The Citra 3DS emulator was on Lume Pad 1... I wouldn't be surprised if it comes to Lume Pad 2 ;)
I'd like to also see Visual Pinball X on it.
I need one
Only just got around to seeing this didn't realise ZTE rebranded this for with the Nubia pad 3d this things expensive I bet great video again chris keep up the great work and bringing tech that other RUclipsrs don't bring
You were in Ljubljana, and you had one of the best Slovenian small brewery beers - Loo-Blah-Nah. I'm well impressed.
This is what the RED Hydrogen Phone failed to do.
Exactly! That's was the first thing I thought I realised it worked with every thing and not custom images and videos alone 😂😂
@@KingOfCorinthit is not truly 3D unless it can convert a 2D stream in real time into 3D and not be locked to specific apps
@ego_ista Agreed! “BUT” AI technology wasn’t there at the time vs. now…
I'm blind in one eye and 3d glasses in a cinema was a complete failure to me but I never thought this was would come wow
Then you can't see the 3D. The only way is to have 2 eyes. I'm sorry but it wouldn't work.😶😶
Can you imagine this on a 65” or 75” TV contents?
3D has always been my dream…now the reality are getting one step closer with the help of AI tracking technology…👍
Nice
Can you use this pad to stream movies from Prime , Netflix..etc. from a 2D format to a 3D format?
It may be a gimmick, but oh my stars and garters, what a gimmick!! This is such a good hook that I imagine that it makes this tablet a must-have for anyone walking by and seeing it displayed in an electronics store next to other tablets. However since it's really hard (impossible really) to show it off in a 2d format, I'm guessing the majority of online buyers won't be nearly as attracted.
Still, I think it just may be the future, and perhaps all the major tablet companies will adopt some form of this 3d tech in the near future (though I'm quite sure this particular method is probably patent-locked to Lume)
Does the processing happen on device or does it depend on a server on the cloud? Which would mean that it requires a working internet connection at all times.
I'm getting one, my first thought is xbox. Cloud gaming and ps remote play
Can you connect it to a bigger 3D display?
You know I just need a tablet so I can write when I don't feel like sitting at my PC. This is overkill. I don't need it. I'll probably only use it for 1/4 of what it's capable of doing. BUT IT'S SO COOL!
Interesting how you're a UK-based channel and yet you don't seem to be able to order this product in the UK
What about 3D MVC MKV?
3d is the future for sure ! 😂
If this had a stylus...I'd bin my M1 Mac Pro in a heartbeat.
Great review Mr Spurt!
Fun fact! You can use an Android compatible stylus with LumePad2! :)
Playing games in stereoscopic 3D? If only there was a dedicated video game console for such a thing.
Its called VR glasses. So you can go get:
- PS5 + PS VR 2 glasses (cabled glasses)
Or
Pico Neo 4 (wireless glasses)
Or
Pico Neo 3 link (both wires and wireless)
Or
Occulus quest 2 (id wait for 3 though as the 2 is dated and cant keep up with above in visuals, size or comfort besides too expensive for what you get today theres much better ones that sont track every move you make as a bonus)
Or
And the list goes on
Does 3D work for two people watching it?
Price??
I can’t believe this isn’t available in the UK 😡
Any word on if the 2560x1600 resolution is the same when in 3D mode? The Luma Pad 1 cut the resolution in half (maybe even 1/3) when in 3D mode resulting in perceivable pixels.
The 3D resolution is divided when in 3D mode, but the resolution clarity is over 2x higher than the original Lume Pad.
What's the price? And are there plans to make 3d films work in the UK otherwise a little pointless lol
How can you watch your collection of 3D Blurays on it? Also I have a Sony Bloggie 3D. Will this device display videos from the bloggie ok?
It’s going to be interesting to see how much its going to cost
$1000 and $100 off before March31
$1099
How much is the tablet? Pops
Out of my price range, I only look at 3D on the Quest 2, and will be getting the Quest 3. I have a great 3d Camera, Kandao QooCam EGO. Want a decent VR180 3D camera, but there isn't a good consumer one at the moment. 3D looks great in VR, I think it will finally take off, when the Quest 3 is out, as that looks like it will be the launchpad for mass adoption. Yes, I could be completely wrong😂
Quest 3 is going to be a lot more expensive than Quest 2 was (so I hear). Still you're right that it will still be less than the Lume 2.
I just use my Quest 2 for gaming, I'm not impressed with 3d film/tv content using the Quest2 because of battery life, comfort, and most importantly visual resolution. I think the Lume 2 would be for a different audience, but I do wonder how the tablet copes with multiple watching at the same time, seems like that would probably scramble it's 3d ability.
Why aren't there TVs like this!?
Price?
This is same as the ZTE 3d tablet that was shown at MWS if I'm not mistaken?
And the asus 3d laptop
@@amaljoe367 Actually it's the same as the ZTE but it's completely different technology from what Asus is doing.
3ds games in high resolution, anyone?
How can I get one to buy
Can it create convert 2D photos into 3D for the picture frame setting?
Yup. The LeiaFrame app turns it into a digital picture frame.
Which OS is running on this bugger
How much is it
What I don't understand is why glasses-free 3D never took off. It was introduced to the mass market with the 3DS and it never really went anywhere after that. With phones nowadays literally scanning and tracking your face constantly, you'd think it would be easy to implement..
Face tracking is fun, but how good is it when using glasses?
Great question! Most of our engineers wear glasses so we ensured it works flawlessly!
How much it cost in £ ??
When will there be 3D movies that work in EU? I heard the movie part only worked in US.
Though LeiaFlix only works in the United States for now, if you get 3D movies from any other source they will play back on the Lume Pad 2.
@@LeiaInc So if I buy the Lume Pad 2 and go abroad will LeiaFlix not work abroad, is that what you are saying? How would it know if I am physically in the US or in another country?
@@fruitmonkey555 Movies in LeiaFlix are only licensed within the United States. The app checks the device's geolocation to ensure it's in the United States before loading content.
Lume Pad 2 is available for reservation for US customers, at suggested retail price of $1,099 USD. No deposit required. Overpriced?
Too pricey for me but so is the Galaxy Tab 8+ so maybe not overpriced given it's the only thing like it. Think the 3D will get tired quick though just like every other 3D implantation other than VR.
@@Late_AyeF I forgot the terminology, but this just "splits" the screen to display 2 different perspective of the same image right? IMO that can be done in software and with Samsung tab 8 having 4K displays, this could be achievable.
@@Follower_Of_Xi_Jinping_Pooh No. You're talking about stereoscopic 3D which requires glasses and a specially polarized screen unless you old school red and green which looks terrible. Lume Pad 2 is no-glasses 3D which makes it impressive.
@@Late_AyeF Nope not that one. Forgot what it is called. This company released 3D tablets in the past, which has 16 perspectives/views. You can see the 3D effect in 16 araes of the screen but of course you gotta divide the all those pixels to 16 images hence the lower quality.
@@Follower_Of_Xi_Jinping_Pooh Never heard of this. And even so that still doesn't sound like something being done only in software with a normal LCD or OLED display. Sounds to still be a form of a parallax barrier in use. Let me know if you find info on what you're recalling.
How much?😆
OMG!!! A HTC Evo 3D in Big :OOO
While I generally like your video reviews, why oh why didn't you tell us how the the 3D effect actually works??? Majorly missed opportunity, it was the one thing I most wanted to know.
How is Netflix on that tablet?
Put a Nintendo 3DS Emulator on that !!! 👍
The original Lume Pad had the 3DS emulator Citra. Let's see if it comes to Lume Pad 2 👀
Glasses. Free. 3D. Tablet! Lela. Lyme. Pad. 2
The 3D conversion requires share, more, Leia tube? They missed the mark there. Needed to be more seemless.
I wonder if it can convert Steam games played via Steam Link to 3D....😊
We'd love to allow RUclips to play back in 3D natively, just ask Google to add our SDK to the RUclips app!
Luckily, the 3D conversion is seamless in LeiaPlayer. Just import your own files, and it works!
Regarding playing PC games in 3D on Lume Pad 2...stay tuned ;)
But can it run 3ds emulator?
The original ran the Citra 3DS emulator, I think it's likely that Citra will come to the new one too!
I have both the Hydrogen One Phone and the 1st Lume Pad. I was pretty disappointed by the resolution and brightness of the screen. What is the actual/effective resolution when the screen is displaying 3D content? How about the screen brightness in Nits compared to the previous generation?
It's over double the resolution of the original Lume Pad and over 50% brighter.
@@NimaZeighami what’s the resolution and nits brightness in 3D mode?
@@wokwithwong 640x1600 in 3D and 300 nits.
Does it render two images, one for each eye and the screen has prism-like setup which allows one image to be seen when viewed from slightly left and another when viewed from slightly right?
And if you move your eye exactly the middle of the screen, you get double image or no image at all?
No. It actually renders multiple images, and then uses face tracking to ensure you never have double vision issues even when you move, as long as you're in the camera's field of view.
@@NimaZeighami How it shows different image to each eye?
@@MikkoRantalainen It diffracts photons using nanogratings before hitting the color filter layer of the display, this sends multiple views in multiple directions which create the stereoscopic visuals.
@@NimaZeighami So if the nanograting allows splitting images to e.g. 4 directions, the effective display resolution is split in 4, right? (That is, every 4th pixel is used for each view direction.)
Is the transition range between two splitted images black or does the transition range have double images?
@@MikkoRantalainen neither, it’s smooth as there’s overlap. With so-called “Lightfield” displays, you actually see multiple views per eye at once, and your brain fuses them. That makes it seem MUCH sharper than the theoretical per-view resolution, and allows for smooth switching between views as you move your head.
Is this similar to the 3DS top screen?
We love the Nintendo 3DS too, but the technology is totally different! The Lume Pad 2 uses diffractive lightfield backlighting while the 3DS uses parallax barrier technology. In addition, the Lume Pad 2 uses the face-tracking position to change the angle of the in-game camera, something that the 3DS doesn't do.
@@LeiaInc cool! It’s really interesting
Why doesn't a AB shutter button engage the camera on the Leah Lume pad 2 ALL IT DOES IS RAISE THE VOLUME UP AND
It's designed for volume adjustment, not being used as a camera shutter. It's not in a good spot to be used as a camera shutter, so most users will cover the 3D camera when try to press it. It's also in a position that would be uncomfortable to reach. And the volume rocker is stiff, so when you press the button you may shake the tablet and ruin your picture. Tapping the button on-screen is superior ergonomically.
Ok that’s not how it works on my iPad and my cell phone but. Guess I’ll just have to push the button with my thumb. Thanks
yo can play every single game on the market on 3d or just a few prepared for like the old 3d tv?
Any photo or video can be played back in 3D, but for apps and games they have to be made using the Leia SDK to play back in 3D.
@@LeiaInc well at least you can see gameplays on 3d ... not bad but it can be much better , thanks for the answer

Yes the beer at The Foundary is great - dont think much of the tablet
when it goes on sale for $400 or less... right now I am happy with my samsung 10 inch tablet...it still works..

Old technology/software, the display panel tech just got way better. Before displays are 720p, now we have 4K, 8K displays.

The 3D resolution has more than doubled from the first one.
@@NimaZeighami Well that's good to hear.

No pen? No thanks
When I heard 3D Ii had to check it out. . . But VR > 3D
3D is that still a thing. Don't need nor want it.
$1100 for a tablet that has no practical applications is just insane. This is a closed eco system including its apps. The same with Apple but Apple has so many users and developers to make it the most sustainable closed ecosystem. With this tablet, You are very limited on what you can do. Not a lot of developers (currently, I hope there will be more), not a lot of users. On top of that is the closed ecosystem, it's just not practical.
Hey Thu, though making apps for our device requires using our SDK, for photos and videos we support playback of all open 3D standards. If there was a standard way for us to make all app play in 3D without using our software, we would definitely enable it!
I don’t think it is a closed environment. There are iOS apps that can send spatial video from the 15 pro. The iOS is in beta to do that but should be released shortly. Files can be exported.
It's only $1,100 😂 it's easy to gush over this when you get it for free.
I'd rather buy the Samsung Galaxy Tab View for $500 less
Why is this still on Android 12. Garbage software. Doubt it'll even get android 13 or 14 for that matter
