    Fun fact: The end of the video loops to the beginning. And that was a happy accident.

    Invaluable that a true enthusiast was able to test and report, thank you! Too bad it doesn't support proper frame-packed playback since streaming that over wifi from a nas is an obvious use case.

    I have been passionate about 3D stereo photography since my dad owned a Stereo Realist camera in the early 1950s (I still have it). I have some of my baby pictures in glorious Kodachrome, in side-by-side 3D! Years ago, I travelled all over Europe with this camera.
    I want to have a platform for sharing my own stereoscopic 3D content. After years of working with cumbersome techniques (including "cha-cha" with a single camera and manually making depth maps for 2D conversion photos, and a very cheap 3D video camera from ten years ago), I just ordered a Kandao Qoo Cam 3D. Thanks to your review, I will be buying this Lume tablet RIGHT NOW.
    I will buy a Goovis Lite 3D headset (which is like a VR headset, but doesn't have the 360 degree feature) when my next paycheck comes in.
    I live in Hawaii and as far as I know, no one here is doing 3D videos for RUclips.

    Best review of this product out there! The first 5 seconds is how helpful every other review is. You gained a subscriber. I want to get this to be able to play my 3d blurays. Will I have to turn them into SBS video? And how would I be able to do that exactly?

    • @jonathansabinvarietyfilms
      @jonathansabinvarietyfilms  3 месяца назад

      Thanks glad it could be helpful! I use MakeMKV (which is free with beta key) to rip the Blu-rays, and I use PowerDirector 17 to do all my 3D editing and conversion. (The latest versions from Dec 2023 onward don’t fully support 3D, so I kept my hard copy.)

    Awesome review video You have the realist review video Out there
    I picked up on myself too Nice tablet but not too happy Have to pay credits to use the AI technology LeiaDream The tablets that you sent out to reviewers did not have to pay for credits I didn't think I would have to pay for cbecause there is nothing about it So far you're the only one I came across in a video that has credit too !
    Pay to use Ai From them review videos From other youtube We bought the tablet we don't Pay for anything else That's what we're paying for I would like to hear your thoughts on this If you get a chance thanks

    • @jonathansabinvarietyfilms

      Yes my unit had a finite amount of credits, with the option to buy more. Many AI sites are like this, as it seems to be the only way currently of have a sustainable system using all that processing power.

      @Variety Films I kind of thought the same thing with the servers ... But still ... If you watch any other review video There is no credits ... You do not have to pay for the ai technology ... That's what we paid for that's why we purchased the tablet .. But I guess they're only giving that out to sponsored people ... They must be more special than the consumer ... That's my thoughts ..

    Needs to be able to play 3D Blu-ray MVC files. SBS is okay, but would require all the 3D content I already own to be re-encoded.

      Would be quite the storage strain, only 2-3 movies on the tablet at a time, or in the case of the highest available SD card over 20.

    I am crazy nuts about 3D since I was a kid. Since then I have a home theatre with projected 3D and calibrated perfectly for the best 3D movie presentation, made a 3D Calibration Disc image I gave freely out to the Theatre Forum years ago before any where available. It was basic. But It worked and I offered it as an .ISO bluray image. Have collected almost every book and film available on 3D. Bought the Sony TD 10 which I still use to this day which has the 3D lenticular viewer so you can view your 3D as you film. Using Vegas from Sony can do editing of the video files and export to many different 3D Formates besides authoring a 3D Bluray Disc. Side By Side is my favourite, but you can also do OU, of FULL, or even Blue, Red, Green etc. I found out about this device just today. Might get one sent up here to Canada. Since then I have purchased the Oculas just to get into that technology. I am curious. How did you export your Blue Red 3D. Can this device export many formats as well. Can you also stream from a network server using a media player. I really hope being able to view as you video your movies becomes available. BTW the Sony TD 10 records in 5.1 and it sounds amazing in the home theatre in surround. And when I say Theatre I mean 2 Rows stadium seating sound proof room where you lose track of time. How is the motion while panning etc. Sorry If I have so many questions. But out of all the reviews I have watched today. You have the best one. ALSO FYI = I had originally purchased a Panasonic 3D Camera. It had a lens attachment where it only filmed in SBS. Each time using it you had to calibrate it. And two week s later the Sony came out. And it's a button switch from 2D to 3D. I was able to return it and upgrade in a way to the sony cause of my relaitons with the store. Since then I film everything in 3D mode. You can still watch the file normal on any 2D display without the need to convert it. And also use that same file to edit in 2D through all other programs without converting the file. Thanks again for a great review video + examples. I wish this video was available in SBS. I paused the video as you were filming outside. Perhaps some of these questions will be answered. I was just too excited. Plus I have a lot to say about 3D. And the apparent "FAILURE of the recent 3D TV craze" Which I believe was a lie put into place by one very powerful entertainment company. But that's another story I have for another day. Thanks. - Toronto, Canada.
    UPDATE: Oh man here I go again. Pausing the video . This review just went from good to GREAT as your showing your process.
    Wondering if the file is an MVC extension. I hate those. But oh well. Hand Brake I heard can do it. And Also TS Muxer and then another few virtual .iso players can out put ext. Too much work if you ask me. I'm wondering if Sony Vegas might be of great use to you. At the time I bought my camera. It was the only program that understood the video Extension. The fact that you had to align raises a concern to me. Now back to your video. I apologize bud. - Still, Toronto, Canada.
    UPDATE 2: Well you answered another thing I was going to look into. The Acer or Asus Monitor. Glad to know this is better. BTW I am a MAC user so most of the software which is PC I use BOOTCAMP which allows the MAC to open natively into a PC on reboot. I wanted to be able to work out a 3D editing flow with a monitor so I could see 3D as I edited. I tried monitors in the past with no luck, and even the SONY 3D Gaming TV which was an amazing quality TV of that size that couldn't compare with any TV at the time, or res/size. That didn't work. So because of my years of collecting books and images CROSSING my eyes to double check my 3D edits or animations has been my go to.
    UPDATE 3 FINAL: I may be off topic but in my goal to collect every movie ever released in 3D I came across an Documentary by Brain May from the group QUEEN who is a 3D enthusiast. It's great. In it, he explains and shows for the first time every Georges Méliès film in accidental 3D. You see making film copies of his movies back in the 1800's was expensive. So to cut down on costs he often would film with two camera side by side. Not knowing at the time he was actually filming/capturing 3D. Incase you didn't know. The Documentary is called. Brain May's Brief History Of 3D. Sorry for the long read, and any errors. Amazing Review. I am subscribing. - Still Here, Toronto, Canada.

      Many thanks Mike, and thanks for recommending that documentary, I've heard of it but have yet to watch it. I forget if I covered it in the video or not, but in answer to your question, I used PowerDirector to convert to anaglyph 3D. Also, you said you wished this video was in SBS, and it is! All Variety Tech Today episodes are in a separate playlist on my channel in SBS format. (Just search for the coressponding episode number.)

    Hello, fellow 3D lovers. I have a Vizio 3D tv ,a rocket 3D phone, and an IQH3D tablet. Please let me know it this tablet is a gamechanger because on my tablet, sometimes the sweet spot is so small, it can be frustrating to keep the 3D image aligned perfectly and my phone, I never use it. As far as my TV, I hate having to set it up and use the glasses ( although not a deal breaker ) it's really just the setup. Any thoughts on how much better this new tablet would be great. Thanks

    • @jonathansabinvarietyfilms
      @jonathansabinvarietyfilms  Год назад

      Good morning Ronnie, yes it is a game changer because there IS NO sweet spot. It uses tracking so the 3D image follows you and you don't lose sight of it. If you want an easier glasses free 3D experience the Lume Pad 2 is highly recommended. As for the Vizio TV yes those work great to. Not sure what's hard about setup though, other than putting on the glasses and popping in a movie. Just leave the Blu-ray player plugged in and you're ready to go.

      On 3D TVs or projectors (plus on Lume Pad!) there's almost always an sbs 3D mode in the settings, or in some cases, right on the remote,that takes the two squished halves and combines them.

    $1099 + shipping and 23% VAT is not acceptable for a tablet with 2 years behind SoC. Snapdragon 888 seriously? It should be Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 - Ai 2D to 3D conversion could be more advanced. Also aiming for highend Android tablet when your last two attemps failed without OLED screen? I doubt they woul have another chance of doing it right. I write this from LumePad 1 - one of the my most disappointing purchases ever.

      I guess if you paid opening price for LP1 which I didn't thankfully. Curious what apps you expect to not be able to use due to the processor. Also would love to see this better real time ai conversion you mention because I don't think it exists. On the other hand there are better computer ai solutions that require hours of processing time.
