He also plays the piano beautifully. He's a real multi-instrumentalist, and GOOD at everything he plays. I suggest his "In A Box III - 900 days", that's just recently come out.
He's amazing. ❤️ His song with the best lyrics ever (matching those of Leonard Cohen) is "The Labyrinth song". Also, one of the great ones is "Fair haired traveler".
He's such an all-round amazing artist. Hope to see more of this. Almost any of the acoustic covers he does of his own songs are great. Also, flipping the guitar and using that metal piece is an old blues technique. Not something he created but the way he used is clearly very different but similar effect. Not sure what it's called.

Asaf Avidan had cancer of the larynx and underwent surgery after which his voice changed. The rehab included a lot of time with a vocal coach
