      @reuploader It gets hard to tell when a car is letting you in when they keep close and don't flash. Plus, it happens all too often where people are oblivious and completely ignore traffic that must merge and has little room to do so. Overly cautious on the truck's part, which is dangerous, but the cammer should've slowed down well ahead of time in order to maintain a safe distance anyways.
      Moving over may have been possible, but it seems a little too tight in this case.

    • @thomashajicek2747
      @thomashajicek2747 Год назад +5

      putting on your blinker doesn't mean you're free to merge. It sucks in some situations like this, but it's the truth. The blame here is partly on a merge lane of a busy highway that ends much to soon.
      When the truck merged away from the front of the cammer, the camper had plenty of room to merge and maintain speed, but instead chose to slow down. That created a dangerous and unnecessary sitation on a busy highway. Based on the dense traffic it's highly likely the cammer was being closely followed and rightly concerned about getting rear-ended if they suddenly hit their brakes too. I see this daily in my morning commute.

    • @thomashajicek2747
      @thomashajicek2747 Год назад

      The cammer did leave plenty of room until the camper decided to slow down so much. The cammer clearly could not have merged as you can see a truck pulling a long trailer pass followed by a car. The cammer away into the left lane as soon as he was clear to, Based on the busy traffic I would bet the cammer had someone following closely, and may have been worried about getting rear-ended if he hit his brakes hard for the camper. After seeing that play out a hundred times in videos like this, I'd feel the same way, and I've seen this very situation many times in my daily commute.
      In the end, the camper had room to merge but didn't and chose to slow way down on a fast moving busy highway. The cammer did what they needed to avoid hitting the camper and they didn't.

    • @VoodooV1
      @VoodooV1 Год назад +3

      RV had plenty of time to merge in ahead of the cammer. Sure I agree the cammer is a douche, but if the RV can't find a spot to merge into, it's THEIR obligation to stop and wait for there to be a safe spot. RV is not entitled to force an opening, which is ultimately what happened. But what the cammer "should have" done and what they're legally obligated to do are two different things.

      Comments and video poster assume driver can see the lane ends right there simply because the cam shows it. If his position is low in the car, he might not be able to see the point where it ends, possibly due to the RV.
      RV definitely caused an incident that didn't need to happen, and nearly a collision.
      When dude asks "what are you doing?" It's because the RV driver is not being consistent or predictable in any way. Maintain speed and merge, or get off the road and stop. Braking while merging when you're well aware of cars coming up behind you is incredibly dangerous and is a sign you have no clue how to drive.

    • @heatshield
      @heatshield Год назад +3

      People act like that on the bridge a lot. It’s usually people who aren’t familiar with it. Even though people in that area generally drive somewhat distracted and “entitled” I guess you could say, when it comes to that bridge everyone has it figured out and it gets handled without incident. Most of the time very politely and safely. In heavy traffic, three or four cars will cross one way then someone just decides to stop and let a few from the other side have a turn. Usually no problems.
      Once in awhile, someone who isn’t familiar with the bridge will end up starting to cross while it’s occupied, like the bus did, but they’ll immediately wave that they goofed up and start backing out.
      It’s the strange ones like this bus that really make me wonder what’s going on in peoples minds though. That same thing happened to me once except going the other way. I was more than half way across as a car came up fast and stopped about ten feet from me, reached out the window with his hand up towards the sky like he was asking me why I’m the one in the wrong.
      I just sat there for a few seconds waiting for him to realize what the problem was but when he started yelling and beeping at me, I wasn’t going to back down. For one, I didn’t want to but also there was another car behind me, back where you see the school bus in this video, so I really couldn’t go back.
      I pulled the keys out, got out of my truck and showed the guy my car keys, jingled them in front of his car. I stepped towards the edge and dangled my keys over the canal, staring straight at the guy with a grin.
      If he didn’t back down, nobody is crossing. LOL
      Of course it was a bluff but he didn’t want to test it.
      The concerning thing here with the bus is, they sit so high up in those things that the driver had the best possible advantage to be able to see if someone was already on the bridge as they approached. They must have just not been paying attention. Then when they motioned for the other driver to back down, it means they probably shouldn’t be driving a school bus. There’s tons of signs on the way up and if they missed all that and missed the other car *and* didn’t know how to handle the situation, they probably aren’t a safe bus driver. Makes me real nervous. lol
      Anyway, if you read all this, it was just me venting. Hope you enjoyed. Some people tick me off and it’s funny to see a place that I know in these vids. Cya.

      You can rest assured that in any somewhat governed part of the world, going down the wrong way on a highway to block multiple lanes while towing something (without having like a dozen police vehicles secure the area first if indeed necessary) is very much a mistake.

      Even if that wasn't the case, suppose he accidentally made a wrong turn down the ramp. It wouldn't be very safe for him to back blind the entire length of the towed vehicle and then some, most likely in the middle of an intersection.
      So I could easily see that being the safest course of action available to him, mistake or otherwise.

Not to mention in any state I've driven in, highway U-turn spots are restricted to emergency vehicles for this very reason.
