I’ve been a CPhT for 15 years and no job has ever paid me 65k. Not even chemo mixing. I’m not sure what specialty department she is in that pays that much, but the average technician doesn’t make anywhere near that much. Misleading for sure.
There's no way techs make $65k. I'm licensed, plus an certified immunizer as well as take a lead on inventory, clinical tasks, and billing. I've worked for the same company for 12.5 years and I don't make anywhere near that.
@@Arenem88everywhere outside of the most expensive cities in the country its more like $38-43k. Experienced sterile compounding techs around here make around $26/hr and CVS and other retail places still start techs at like $14.

For people who are wondering for pharmacy salary, dont ever go to big retail chains. You will never get that amount. Most hospital will pay that salary during the pandemic they were offering #2k-$5k sign on bonus but mainly you need experience to get that salary and, of course where you live matters
Pharmacy tech is not a good field. Been doing it for 10 years. Never seen a 65 k position. So happy I got out of it. In my experience. Alot of greedy owners who do not pay well.. alot of new techs come in with a training license and they make about the same as certified techs or a dollar less. Get into another field if you are thinking about it.
@@GonzE1993 I’m looking to go to school to be a pharmacy tech, and eventually a pharmacist. Did you get an associates, bachelor’s, etc? Idk how it works.
If you do that isn't normal at all and you are in a SUPER small minority - also $70K in SoCal is VERY different from $70K almost anywhere else in the country.@@shelbyjackson7809
Any tips on how to get certified on the math portion? I’m going for my 2nd try and I’m scared. But feel comfortable with meds, federal requirements and patient safety it’s just the processing part.
Funny how people tgink that they should set their own pay despite not having sufficient knowledge of how that would effect the system in which that person works. Thats like prescribing a drug without knowing its side effects
Her daughter peeking at the camera is so adorable!
She has a beautiful spirit and an adorable little princess.
She has got a cute kid. I wish them Best to both
I enjoyed being a tech but bc it will never pay $65k is the reason why I left lol

For real. 35 -40k tops
Portland is expensive. I make more than 40K but my area is expensive.

Do you have your PTCB certification?
They do make that. Depends on where you live and what hospital you work for. This is pretty much the standard in New York City now.

Damn, if I was getting paid that I probably would have stayed while going to school. I was making $12/hour then after two years $13.25

65k? I live in Oregon as a tech and make half of that a year.
Yeah she's not even talking about compounding or specialty or anything. She just sounds like she's a retail tech. No way she's getting paid $30/hr.
