This was randomly suggested for me. Do I know this man? No. Was I thinking it? No. Did it make me instantly curious enough to instantly watch it? Yes, yes it did.

"where are your legs?"
"I haven't seen them in a while, they do write to me from time to time tho"
o yes this is some dark comedy shit
My legs are like my father........they “walked out on me” when I was born
“i didn’t get custody” 😔
Pewdiepie can relate
Tbh I thought that was Michael from VSauce at first.
Actually, as a former surgical nurse, I was more curious about your hips. I can totally see how the rest of you that people are inordinately curious about, are complete and functional - I wonder about your operation and how much (if any) of the upper leg or socket was kept intact, or if you're literally sitting on your pelvis. Please ignore if this is too personal. You are a genuinely lovely, open person, and I'm sure when kids ask questions, you're - excuse the pun - completely straight with them.

I wondered the same after the algorithm fed me this video and I thought "what a great dude". And then I watched a couple of other vids and the swimming video answered the torso length/ hip questions.
Yes! I thought it was lower torso too, so that is why I was curious. Thank you so much for clearing the question up for us. Now, I too am wondering if they left upper bone in your legs. You are very brave and we are definitely not meaning any disrespect. I have a lot of respect for you! Thanks again.
Love your sense of humor and nice smile ❤😊
I swear if i had a teacher like this at school who explains everything so clearly and engaging, my path would have been very different.
I’ll never understand people’s fascination with how disabled people go to the bathroom. I’ve started saying “I don’t” and watching the reactions
Omg that's awesome! Love it. I used to give fake due dates, gender, etc etc "Are you pregnant?" "Are you sure?"
Well, there are a few things we as humans all do, eat sleep poop. These basic needs connect us as animals,so when we see a variation in those things we want to know how/why and we want to know if our fellow human is "alright".
@@OppositeofHATE7 yeah we wanna know by instinct but that does'nt mean it's appropriate to ask, or that disabled people owe others to explain their existance. Like sure people are curious and thats normal but it doesnt mean we're entitled to explinations about everything we're curious about.
@@gorefieldluvr6921 how is that the first thing someone thinks of though? i never think of the existence of bathroom stuff unless I'm doing it right that second or someone asks me where the bathroom is or whatever. also he's not missing his asshole LOL so what's the mystery
I agree. I feel like it’s such a weird thing to wonder let alone feel the need to ask.
My main takeaway from this video is that legs make up way more of the human body than I realized they did.
THIS.Because in my mind with how short his torso looked, I thought he was missing his pelvis or something as well...
Apparently we're approximately 50% LeG. I don't know what to do with this information.
Boom!!!🤯

THIS!! ...and I actually took human anatomy in school. 😫
As a person with a disability, I appreciate that you spoke about how to properly ask about a person's disability and that although it is true that we are mostly all willing to answer questions there is a time and place. I also always enjoy your videos! You are awesome!! 😄
I appreciate your willingness to be open and honest and use your unique physiology to educate people.
"don't ask strangers details about their genitals and/or bathroom habits" are one of those things that really shouldn't be hard to grasp, and still...
Believe me, some people don't seem to understand. Have scoliosis and lordosis and how many times have i been asked about my sexuality....meaning : can i have sex and does it hurt? Well DUH! Shit it's my spine that's bent and it has nothing to do with my génitals.....can have sex like any other women out there and no, it doesn't hurt!!!🤪🤪🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@jadzia2098 huh.. you sure it doesn‘t hurt? My back feels like breaking apart. After any type of physical activities, the next day I‘ll be paralyzed. Can‘t move at all.
@@lilyblack1979 nope.
why not, what's so spOooOoKY about asking how you shit lmao
@@vladpintilei6204 look, yes i do sit my behind on the toilett seat and yes, i dont do it any differently than you or any other women out there. Just pull my pants down and as i said i sit my behind on the seat and do my bussiness as usual and wipe down as same as others. My biggest problems is that some people ask and at time, some can get annoying and thankfully, its not all of them and yes it can get anyoing when you've been ask so many times before. Cause some dont seem to be able to grasps the fact some keep asking very rudely or while we are with family members or friends or a date. Im 57 and yeah, heard and seen some pretty weird stuff. All im asking is, please be discret and dont be annoyed if we dont answer all of your questions at this precise moment. Please be patient because that person may be new with his/her disabylity and that person may need time to work some things out and may not be comfortable with answering your questions. So please be patient with them cause they may still need to find their way and bearings.
I love when people word the question as “where are your legs?” As if you still have them, you’re just hiding them somewhere LOL
"Oh damnit did I leave them in the closet again when I came out? WELL FUCK."
Lmao my auntie got one of her legs amputated and we visited her in hospital, and my mam said something about putting her special boot on the leg which was amputated. I don’t remember exactly what was said it’s been like 3 and a half years.
@Yeoubi I think they incinerate them.
People online are stupid as hell. It no longer surprises me
Dammit I left them in my other pants!
How easily do your aubergine or limes get squished accidentally when you're moving around? Thanks for funny and informative video!
Probably heavily padded
See, that's what I was wondering...
I was wondering this too 👀
Being in a wheelchair myself, ive squished my limes many times getting out of my wheelchair and accidentally landing on the back of my ankle
I expect that it’s similar to people with legs, you get used to making sure that you’re not going to squish them
OMG YES I genuinely cried a little at your crash course in how to ask someone these questions. I'm autistic enough to be disabled by it and sometimes it's kind of obvious, I might talk to myself in public a bit too loudly, make strange noises (audio stimming) or move in a weird way (kinetic stimming) and I often wear disability lanyards and stuff to identify me as, yk, disabled, not just on meth. And I always welcome questions and I always say "just ask, we prefer the asking to those looks we get when people want to ask but don't know how" and I really really want to normalize "just ask"ing but also yeah it needs to be done in the right way and I appreciate that no everyone knows what the right way is (I didn't know myself until I watched a video similar to yours years ago).
Also for people wondering yeah it counts for most sensitive subjects not just disability. If a dude walks up to me and says "hey this is gonna sound weird but can I ask you some questions about your experiences as a woman?" I'll probably say yes. Basically it's about informed consent, specifically giving the person you're talking to the ability to give informed consent for the sensitive conversation you want to have, or not. Like yeah sure kinda weird sometimes but hey if you're polite and I know what I'm getting myself into I'm probably gonna say yes just because you were polite about it, if someone randomly comes up to me and says "oh hey! I do that too! Are you autistic as well?!" it's different. I mean not for me 'cause I'm basically a Labrador in a human costume I'll b e friends with anyone but you know what I mean.
yikes
I kinda want to be friends now lol.
"Where are your legs?"
"Aw crap I left them in my other pants"
Right?! Like, how is he supposed to answer that? People man.
"I'm wearing pants/a skirt/shorts made out of the same stuff as Harry's invisibility cloak"
That's not funny !

Yeah that’s
I was feeling terrible today. I have severe scoliosis and sometimes feel freakish and pitiful. You made me smile. So glad you showed up today ❤️
Same here Taylor Queensbury🤙🏽💜
I can relate, I feel that way with my back issues, scoliosis being a part of it, though I only have a slight curving, unlike my brother who has the old Harrington rods in his back from the 1980's. I also have ichthyosis vulgaris, a genetic skin disorder that causes very dry skin and bad scaling, so you can imagine what childhood comments I had to endure. I suffer with acute nerve pain from a car accident from over 20 years ago that is so bad I can do very little, let alone work. It is especially hard not being able to do the things with my children and young grandchildren that I had always expected that I would do, and that is the hardest, bitterest pill of all for me. But God is good, and has blessed me in other ways, as I am sure He has you. Life, itself, is such a gift, and is worth living for the joy that we can give and experience with each other! Hope that on this day you very happy and healthy!!!

@@zuziiice8907 Thank God that you don't have, it can be brutal, as I am sure you already know!
As someone born with an invisible heart defect and then had open heart surgery, I was never able to articulate my thoughts the way you just did. It was so hard explaining what happened because this surgery wasn’t common back in the 70’s and being a child with a freakishly large scar running down your body scared almost everyone. I just want to thank you for the words you spoke. They’re a gentle guiding light to navigate through the strange questions curious people ask.
Okay, so he still has a waist. Honestly the shirt makes him only look like a torso. Hence the question
Isn’t a waist and a torso the same thing
I think they're saying that it looks like the pelvis is removed
@@scj7408 it depends on who you ask. For some, the torso is the human body minus the arms, legs, and head. For others, the waist/hips are a separate part. I’m honestly not sure which is scientifically correct
Yup. When he started showing Gone and Gone 2, i was convinced he wasn't just missing legs but also his pelvis and a good bit of organs. So yeah it looked to me he didnt even have parts of his intestines and i did wonder: how do you even take up nutrients, how do you pass stool, do you even make stool?
Maybe its because his pecs and shoulders are so wide?
That's what I was thinking. Not sure if it's the tshirt or what but it looks to me like his body was cut off at the belly button.

Thank you for so graciously explaining how questions from the abled people sometimes appear. I have an invisible disability and often get intrusive questions about my service dog. I don't handle them as well as you do. Thanks for your example.
His personality, humor and HONESTY is so refreshing.
I agree
Cute as a bug.
Yes it is im so glad I stumbled on to his channel. Im a new fan! ☺😍💓💕
Funny guy
Omg totally 😂 I love the way he approached this. I definitely agree wholeheartedly that disabled people shouldn't have to deal with all that and the way he explained things made perfect sense in a non abrasive and honest approach.
That’s crazy how strangers will walk up to you asking such private questions
ikr? absolutely rude :(
2 years ago, during Passover, I took my fam to Lancaster County, where we went on an authentic Amish buggy tour. Since it was Passover, most everybody there was Jewish. One fellow asked our buggy driver, "If we were to knock on an Amish family's door and ask to see an authentic Amish home, would they let us in?" I thought (but was not ridiculous enough to say aloud), "If some random stranger knocked on your door asking to see an authentic Jewish home, would you let him in?"
Like our vlogger here, I would be fine if someone just came over and asked for something to drink or perhaps a snack and then, while munching away, said that s/he'd always been curious about the dynamics of Jewish families, but don't expect that somebody of a different culture will ever open up their own home as your personal museum tour.
I often get the feeling that with a handicap everyone can see, you are not believed to have private sphere. You'd be surprised by what strangers all say and want to know...
Some people are just more curious than polite (like a child). (Also the parasocial relationship a creator might play a role.) Might be better he addressed it than having people speculate. There should be no shame in bodily functions and no one wanted him literally filming himself pee.
So rude 😒 ugh
Dude, I love your straightforward and truthful way you presented this. This came up randomly in my feed, and because I am an engineer, I was intrigued. Your light-hearted manner is quite appreciated. My daughter is in a wheelchair from a brain injury, and I get that questions coming from truly curious people are really OK. Thanks for the video.

There's nothing better than a sense of humor! As disabled people, we just can't make this stuff up 🤣 thank you for the lesson!
My God this man is strong. The way he dealt with society’s idiots is awesome.
Its not really peoples fault for thinking he doesnt have everything below a belly button, his shirt typically makes him look like he doesnt have anything, so they arent idiots. Just curious lol
@Seamus F whatever you say Seamun

@@gglopez4018 ok spud
I think the reason this question is asked so often is because of the length of your body (for lack of a better term/description). It looks as if your body ends at mid-torso or just end the bellybutton. That gives the illusion that anything below the bellybutton is missing.
Thank you for so willingly and graciously answering this any other questions that come your way. What an inspiration you are to everyone. There is nothing better in a man (with or without legs, eggplant, limes or peach) than a sense of humor.
Yess. This is my thought as well. As in I believe he doesn't have any "junk" cause of where his body ends
I think it’s probably due to atrophy of muscles that would be anchored into lower limbs and added bulk to those for the upper limbs and torso that give the illusion of his body ending mid torso. It’s surprising how many muscles the body uses to move your legs, and how those muscles and those bones they anchor to contribute to body shape.
Yeah, I wrongly assumed he didn’t have a pelvis. This explains so much.
It made sense, but I'm still wondering if resting upright (standing) puts pressure on his genitals at all since they would be the lowest point on his body.
Yea the optical illusion makes it look like its photoshopped mid stomach when theres no 'pants'
Thank you. I’m disabled too, and usually I just want to get on with my day, not answer 20 questions about my crutches before I have even left the first shop… it’s okay to ask questions politely, but it’s also okay to hear “no” and “sort I’m busy right now” as responses.
Especially when being disabled makes us extra vulnerable, and I have personally had people get really aggressive when I tried to politely explain I was busy… it’s scary!
I think the question is that even though he has a pelvis, people don't see it. So it's confusing. It's super that he answered the question. People often have no common sense. I couldn't imagine asking a person personal information without knowing them deeply. Treat everyone with respect and caution. Good answer.
Thank you for being so transparent with us. You're never obligated to answer anyone's questions. I love your channel.

You're very patient to explain how and when others should ask questions even though it's sad others don't already know this. Keep on keepin on.
"I'm not here to be a teaching moment for you every single day every hour of my life." YES!!
What people often fail to realize is that if when you see/meet a disabled/different person you go to them and ask about their situation/make a comment about them, that is a few minutes of your life. But if every person the disabled/different person meets does that, can you imagine what their life becomes? How frustrating it is to continually hear the same comments around you or to continually have to answer questions?
Some people might have a natural inclination to teaching and sharing, but some others might well not! Don't make someone's life more difficult that it is to satisfy your curiosity, unless you have the impression they might appreciate your interest or you wouldn't be able to find this sort of information anywhere else and you're dying to know and you can think of a nice, tactful, not imposing way to ask! Even though I assure you there's plenty of people on the internet willing to share about their lives to help other people understand. Maybe more willing that the random person you meet just going on with their lives on the street 😉
As a black person, I feel that. I feel like screaming the same thing every day. So preach! Say it louder for the people in the back! 💙
@@thenightporter yes, of course some of these questions are just straight up rude and produced by morbid curiosity rather than true desire to understand how someone's else lives!
My sister is a redhead while everyone else in the family had dark hair, and my mother was asked by several random stranger "what did the father think". I mean, how can you ask such a question?! So really, the concept of people making absurdly intruding questions is not so foreign to me.
I just pointed out how even the more kindly expressed, genuinely curious and well-meaning questions could have in the longer run a negative effect and that we should all consider before asking 😉

It's called common decency and awareness. It's easy for people to ask a question, but it's much harder when the person being curious about the other doesn't take them as a individual into account, especially in person. It's more for their general questions being answered than finding common ground. It can be accidental or in other cases not, but either way it makes said individual just feel some type of "wtf just happened" or feeling just irritated. I love your videos man! As a fellow person with physical disabilities, I absolutely love this video. You hit the points right on! I love that you chose to educate! 🤟
i'm disabled. i have osteogenesis imperfecta. i'm REALLY glad you added that point at the end, because the number of times i've had complete strangers come up to me randomly at the bus stop or on the street or in bars and ask me completely inappropriate, disrespectful, and rude questions is just insane.
if you see me at the bus stop with headphones on, or you see me engaged in a conversation with a friend at a bar, for the love of god please do not interrupt me or make me take my headphones off to say something like "what's wrong with you" or "are you a midget or a dwarf" or "does your dick work?". yes, i have had strangers in bars interrupt me to ask me about my penis. don't do that.
Wow, I’m so sorry some people are insensitive and/or unable to word things in a more sincere way about their curiosity. I have POTS and work with a service dog so I understand this situation all too well
I've probably been rude in a form, I went to a haunted house attraction, and I was staring intensely at a guy who was carrying another guy around, the man carrying the one guy around sets him on a table, and the dude looked like the guy in this video. ( These weren't people apart of the haunted house, just visitors like me. ) But I couldn't stop glancing at the guy, I never approached him. But I was dying to ask how it happened.
@@ChonkyCats staring is pretty shitty. it would have been far more polite to just walk up and say something like "hey, i'm terribly sorry if i'm bothering you, but i'm really curious about your disability, do you mind talking about it?" rather than just creepily staring from afar.
i can't speak for every disabled person, but i can always feel someone staring at me and it doesn't feel good. i'd much prefer talking about it as long as the person approaching me isn't an asshole. but i'm a dirty punk rock weirdo on top of being smol and disabled, so i guess i'm extra unapproachable tbh. which is ironic because i'm pretty gregarious lmao.
@@Zvox it was nighttime at a haunted house, the guy probably would have been extra edgy if someone came up to talk to him. I imagine him saying something like "What you think I'm apart of the attraction? Buzz off before I beat you silly with my ripped arms"
I'm so sorry people are so rude to you. Take care 🧡💛💚💙❤️
this man is so kind and his vibe is so welcoming. He’s so honest and open with everyone.
I’m just thrilled you draw your people the way I draw people. 💪🏻
I really respect how open you are and welcoming to educate us. I also love that you were so sincere and honest about what’s appropriate and what’s not. You did a phenomenal job. Thank you for it all

Wow, don’t know why this came to my attention but you are amazing and I love your honesty and great way of letting people know how things are with you.
I’m having a hard time accepting that people can be this intrusive to people with disabilities. It’s pretty obvious your basic daily bodily functions are A-OK, else you wouldn’t be this healthy and autonomous… I don’t see the need to ask, but I understand the curiosity. Mostly, I think it’s more about boundaries and context than anything else; points you’ve made abundantly clear while also showing great respect to those who deem relevant to cross said boundaries outside of an appropriate context. I have nothing but admiration for the patience and maturity you’ve shown through this video, and hope you’ll get a bit of a break from these questions afterwards. Keep on producing great content!
This guy is the definition of an individual that’s cool asf
"I'm not about to start an only fans account." This guy is just too good.
I love your energy and how you’re educating other people who may not understand or curiously inquire about your daily life. You do it in a positive, informative and respectful way! Not to mention, the occasional humor is a plus. I hope you’re doing well!! 🙏🏽💕
You are incredibly kind and you did not need to answer these questions, but you still did. Thank you for your patience and bravery in answering these questions!
This was done so nice. He touched on everything without being vulgar and disgusting. Take note people
Now if only everyone in the comment section could use a similar approach by appreciating him without committing social genocide on everyone else.
Does he smoosh his egg plant when he walks?
@@peterjohnson2793 This is my question as well. Does it need to be moved out of the way? Is there any extra protection needed? I'm not a guy, so I don't know how it all works normally. Maybe there's no issue. 🤷🏻♀️

Thank you for this. I can’t imagine how difficult it is to get asked such a personal question all the time. I’m sorry you have to deal with that, but appreciate your openness and willingness to answer it here!
I love you and your humour. The world needs more people like you and if we did we'd be in a much better place. Thanks for the lesson, it was fabulous.

My grandpa was runover by a train, that he used to "ride" to school. He miraculously didn't die but lost both legs, and somehow lived to tell the tale. He did have his wooden and then his aluminum prosthetics, farmed, raised 12 kids, 2 wars and the dustbowl years who knows what else! Always use my ancestors example as a source of strength and resourcefulness in my disability struggles. You are an excellent ancestor to someone
Tell me you’re a witch without telling me you’re a witch
What a lovely thing to say..."You are an excellent ancestor to someone." 💕
🙌🏽💕👪
@Saucy Boy I was waiting for someone to ask lmao
Let ya boi explain..
So witches, pagans, and many many many cultures follow tradition in the form of anscestor veneration. (Which honestly ima be straight up every black person should be venerating, thanking, and giving praise to their anscestors. Known AND UNKNOWN.
For your anscestors are those in your bloodline that came before you, and without them you wouldn't be here and in other words, They are you. Empowering them, means empowering yourself as well as those on the other side.
Hope this was eye opening❤
(Also about the disabled guy being an anscestor, ion think you can be an anscestor and be currently living, you'd have to die to be considered and anscestor, soo descendant, until death.)
@Saucy Boy I was just answering the question bc you seemed like you wanted to know.
But so as long as you understand the principal of what I'm taking about, why trip? That's lowkey just a sad projection of your ego lmao, ppl use short-hand and slang all the time. it's YT not damn ENG 111
Just bc something may not be "proper" according to some system you grew up using doesn't mean you can't find some use in it but iight
Thank you! I had no clue who you were before this but I always want to understand different perspectives, and knowing how to properly ask quiestions and try not to be weird or rude about it is a really big thing. Thank you, and I hope you have a nice day!
I randomly came across your video just now and I'm so glad I watched it. You have a beautiful attitude about life and I find you charming. I love your positivity and you have an infectious smile! I need those kinds of things right now, so thank you Spencer... you're a light in the world.❤️😺

Great clarity on the appropriate interaction with a person with different abilities. On the one hand, I’m horrified that anyone would actually approach you to ask you anything personal without knowing you, on the other hand, I appreciate the willingness to spread awareness when they do.
This was the first video I have seen from you. Thank you for sharing. As a woman with no disabilities, I may speak for a majority, when I say that I would also not know how to handle answering or even asking questions. Thank you, very much, for your explanation and giving awareness. 🥰
I don’t know how I ended up here with a man explaining how he poops, using fruit and a Swifter sweeper handle, but I’m here for it.

Gone 2: The Sequel - This video is a treasure trove I swear

Hi! I’m Grace. I love your videos. Not only are you very positive and have good vibes, you bring awareness to the reality of living with a disability. You show how aside from a few modifications , you live a happy healthy , fulfilled life. Thank you for your openness and your truly awesome personality.❤️
Your so witty and have such a warm personality. Thanks for sharing, I never really thought about it or found myself curious until your video was suggested. So again, thanks for filling in the blanks
K so what i got from this video:
•You have a really short torso
•ur funny yet you are smart
•people ask really personal questions
•and you explain things way better than all my school teachers
That's the part I don't get either. His torso seems too short to hold his lower vital organs and intestines. It seems to end around his belly button, not his hips. From his explanation, he has pelvic bones and his legs are gone at the joints. I'm still confused but so be it. He's quite amazing.
@@lemon1657 That is because he is resting/ sitting on his ribcage which is why the rest of his upper body isn't visible.
(I have found a video form 3 years ago where he explained how he swims without legs and he propped himself up and in that moment you could clearly see his stomach. After that he lowered himself back down on his ribcage which is why i am assuming that this is how he usually sits/rests. Correct me if i am wrong please
@@m.8198 Thanks, you're right. I saw the video now. It's quite extraordinary and he's so cheerful despite any obstacle. Wish we could all be so positive.
I can understand the curiosity. When he sits the way his body (for lack of a better word) “collapses” seems like he is missing everything from the waist down. It doesn’t appear there are hips or anything. It makes his torso seem so small.
Yes, that's what I was thinking. I thought he was similar to another man named Loren, who has a YT channel called, Loren and Sabia (or maybe it was vice versa?). Edit: it's Sabia and Loren.
Yeah, that's why people think that he doesn't have that private parts
Waist down, hell. It legit looks like his whole body ends just below his ribs.
@@sharity3289 i don't think that Loren is the same. I mean he wasn't like that when he was born, he had a car accident that lead to his current situation.
It's amazing and how much of our vertical selves is legs and feet
Brave and well spoken. Not that it is anyone's business. Kind of you to be so kind to the nosey parkers.
Bless your heart, you are so tolerant! I'm a teacher, so I get my share of inappropriately personal questions from kids, but I can't imagine the vast amount you must get (and worse, many not from children but adults who should know better). I'm so glad you're able to have a sense of humor about it!
I don't know why I was recommended this, but the only reason I would be confused is that your torso doesn't look long enough to include the pelvis.
same-
Right? Like where?
i kind of would like if he just showed us where his belly button is so that i can make sense of the proportions. like fully clothed just put a finger where the belly button is
I think it's because he's "laying" on his belly area, but because he's got a shirt covering him, it looks like he's just balancing on his rib cage area.
Due to his condition (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caudal_regression_syndrome), his spine didn’t develop properly. It’s possible that he’s missing some vertebrae and ribs, which would shorten his torso.
This guy has the patience of a saint to be honest.
What’s he gonna do
Like beat the persons ass or what? I feel like the most damage this man can do would be through biting and he’d have to get pretty close to do that.
@@goatpepperherbaltea7895 he has arms and a few decades worth of daily upper body exercises just from the necessity to move so I feel like you're underestimating him.
This is the first time that I am seeing one of your videos (thanks algorithm). I appreciate how well you educate folks on disabilities and how you don’t mind answering questions that may be on people’s minds. Hopefully this will lead to more compassion and understanding.
I would never in a million years come up to you and ask you such personal and private questions. What’s wrong with people!! You seem like a very sweet person wish you a long happy life🙂
