I'm in that position right now. Would love to know how it went for you. Were you comfortable and got the shots well, if you don't mind me asking? (I'm deciding whether to find them an alternate )
I’m in the need of your expertise. I just bought this camera with no lenses or flash. This is my first ever DSLR camera. I’ve looked into Sony accessories but they’re really expensive. Can you please give your guidance in what is good compatible to buy for this camera for a tight budget guy. I also don’t want to buy or carry lots of lenses. just one. Thank you!
Robert 'GRIFF' Griffith I just meant I would get back to how to set a button up to allow you to access picture profiles. The canon profile can be found here www.eoshd.com/2018/05/eoshd-pro-color-v4-hdr-for-the-sony-a7-iii-and-a7r-iii/
ditto some comments below. I am not a professional, but I am not a novice. The Sony a7III is my first DSLR since I was a kid many moons ago (I had a Minolta film as my first camera when I was 22). Your comments are useful but too often I had to stop the video, go back a few frames, look at the menu, etc. You speak much too fast, and move through the menu settings much too fast, which gets in the way of the good knowledge you have. Also, I would like to hear a bit more explanation of the reason you choose what you choose. There is some of it here but you do more of that in your other videos. I hope this critique is taken positively since the content is good. Thanks.
So some of my photos come out in KB and some In MB. how do I get all of them to come out in MB? I have a Sony a7 iii What setting should I do? Am I doing something wrong?
Great video.... I’ll be excited if you move to the Sony and bring out more videos... lenses, tips and tricks etc. I ended up with the A7Riii... Love your videos and supporting a fellow Ontarioin ツ keep up the good work.
Hello sir.. I want one suggestion as i am going to buy sony a7iii and I'm confused in lens which one to buy from these two: tamron 28-75 f2.8 or sony 24-105 f4 as my first lens.. This is my first camera and first lens. Please guide. 😊
Personaly i prefer the 24-105 f4 that lens is so sharp ?. I had the tamron 28-75 2.8 which was also great but i really missed having 24mm as 28mm was not wide enough
The UHS II is mainly for clearing the buffer speed on photos. UHS I is good for video, BUT you have to make sure its a class 10 (3) and not a class 10 (1) card!!
Lee Zavitz ok! Where can I find mapping that in the settings? Also when I turn the main dial to 1 (from Manual/Movie/Auto) the aperture and shutter scroll wheels cancel one another out/adjust both settings simultaneously. So when aperture goes down, shutter speed goes up. I can’t find a way to stop that behavior.
Doesn't it make more sense to set your control wheel to ISO? You have the back dial for aperture already (or shutter speed, if you reverse them) - setting the control wheel to aperture 3:48 would be redundant, right? Both the rear dial and the control wheel would both be used for aperture.
Ben Knechel I think the question arose because when I switch the dial to my Custom 1, the two scroll wheels on top undo one another. So if I put aperture up, shutter speed goes down and vice versa. No idea what that setting is, so that’s why I ask about remapping. Any idea about that?
@@taliscopes I think that the front and rear dials can only be aperture or shutter speed. The control wheel (the big flat one on the back) can be programmed to be anything. To me, programming it to be ISO makes the most sense. Then you have all 3 of your exposure settings at your fingertips.
RAW uncompressed ?? Is RAW Compressed lossy or lossless at Sony, at Fuji you can choose between both (lossless or lossy compressed). Here it does not mention wehter it is lossless or lossy.
RS The compressed raw is Lossy. That’s why I switched it to uncompressed. Though I doubt anyone would even be able to tell the difference unless pushing hardcore shadows like 5 stops or something.
Stopped watching 2 minutes in. People who watch these kind of a7iii beginner videos of course wanna know what all the settings does instead of having no clue what settings they have chosen
Just found your channel. Using my sons A7iii to learn more about Sony camera. Best 4 year old video I found so far. Thanks!!!!
It was so simple but yet I couldn't figure it out. THANK YOU for a simple, straightforward how-to demo.
Thank you for resetting your setting just so you can show us, rather than telling oh this is my preferred button.
I just got my A7iii today and this was super helpful. Thanks!
Your video's are saving my life with this new camera!
thank you for this video, switching from canon and this helps a lot
Excellent video, thanks for taking the time to walk us through the setups and explaining why/how you map the buttons.
that's why I enjoy watching your videos @zedpromedia
You are amazing, Lee. Thank you for the video.
this video was very helpful, thank you!
Super helpful video! I just bought a new camera, and need to get up to speed on its functions for a shoot I have this week. Yikes!!
I'm in that position right now. Would love to know how it went for you.

Last week on a video shoot, the camera overheated and shut down- I complete missed 50% of the live event, so NOT happy about that.
Thanks Lee, I learnt a lot.
you are Rock dude ..... thanks so much mate.

Could you use the S@Q button to manage filming during shoots so you can capture 60fps footage for slow motions edits in post?
Really find your vids thorough and informative. Only CC is how fast you talk,,,,,,
Do you have custom buttons setup for video shooting as well? I love the way you explain it it's so clear and clean
did you ever found the video setting?
Another quality video bro.. thumbs up. 👍🏼 twice 👍🏼
For real. I wish he had a twitter so we could ask questions and suggest video ideas.
All my social media links are always posted in the description. You can tweet, Instagram DM. I try to answer everyone I can.
Zed Pro Media yep, I think he does not check the description of the videos..
You mentioned the EOS HD profile, but didn't get back to it. Can you elaborate on where to find this and how to install? Thanks.

Thanks for the prompt response!
Zed Pro Media-After reviewing the link, it looks like this is applicable ONLY for video. Is that accurate?
great informative video man
Please explain why u set up the Drive Mode on C3 when u can Push the wheel as well makes no sense?
Thank you best setting
Hi Bro, could you please explain more about canon picture profile? you talked about in this video earlier.
I dont use it anymore. I shoot everything in HLG2. I actually like how it looks more. ruclips.net/video/bD7upTEDm8U/видео.html

Where can I find the Canon profile :/ Btw thanks for the video, I just changed all my settings to mimic yours. I guess I'll change with time.
The Canon profile he mentioned is called EOSHD Pro Color V4.0 HDR - For Sony A7 III and A7R III
Would be really handy if there were a method of assigning 'my menu' to a custom button.
Thank You Very Much, Best Explanation Online! You Made my Day .
What lenses are you using with the a7iii?
Just what I needed to setup. Thanks!

How did you install PlayMemories? I tried MAO but nothing worked and it's still in Chinese

RV Rider go with the Tamron. It’s a really great lens
Personaly i prefer the 24-105 f4 that lens is so sharp ?. I had the tamron 28-75 2.8 which was also great but i really missed having 24mm as 28mm was not wide enough
Nice stuff, thank you!
The settings are not there when I turn the camera off and back on again, can anyone help me with this?
Hey man! Great video! Do you know if a UHS-II is required for video on the A7iii? I’m having trouble recording on slot 2 with just a regular UHS-1
Benny Acting not needed. Bitrate is only 100mbps in 4K. A standard uhsi card like Sandisk 95mbs is more than enough.
Zed Pro Media Thanks bro!
The UHS II is mainly for clearing the buffer speed on photos. UHS I is good for video, BUT you have to make sure its a class 10 (3) and not a class 10 (1) card!!
SOny need to build a companion app so that we can set these things up on smart phone then sync to the camera
There is one. I think all Sony Alpha cameras with built in WiFi Support it.
How about the two scroll wheels at the top of sony a7r3 and a73? Is there a way to custom set them? I don't see them in the list for custom key.
They are for shutter and aperture. You can change which one does what. But they are dedicated for that.
Lee Zavitz ok! Where can I find mapping that in the settings? Also when I turn the main dial to 1 (from Manual/Movie/Auto) the aperture and shutter scroll wheels cancel one another out/adjust both settings simultaneously. jpeg quality....xtra fine 😂😛😂
Slow down on screens, to hard to follow.

from india
ok ,i'll never switch to Sony .So confused menu ,but definitely helps other owners.
Too fast for me. I couldn't keep up. Moved on.
Good thing you can slow the video or pause it
@@LeeZavitz Yeah good thing but not worth it.
Stopped watching 2 minutes in. People who watch these kind of a7iii beginner videos of course wanna know what all the settings does instead of having no clue what settings they have chosen
I have my camera and I'm trying to setting the settings and you are moving way too fast. I can't follow along.
Ever thought of pausing the video or even pressing the left arrow key to rewind a bit?
Ok, lots of info, BUT you go so fast it was useless!
Good thing RUclips lets you change the speed of the video if you need. :)
Thumbs down 👎🏻 twice 👎🏻
