  • 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 with Handling Package,
    Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 Tires, Power Stop Track Day Brake Pads (budget friendly) and DOT 4 fluid.
    Brakes held up just fine through the sessions. No fade at all, even though it was a very hot day, 95 F and a track that’s hard on brakes.

    Not bad. I was at CMP for the first time this past summer with +100 deg ambient temps, double stinting my car, and went 1:46, any idea what this would be with better ambient temps and not sharing the car?

    Great video, nice driving. Just sold my C7 Z51 and am pretty sure I am going to get the new Mach 1. Did you do a track alignment on the Mach 1?, Car seems really strong, I assume thats an A10 tranny, shifts seem clean and quick. Thanks for posting this as I had put in 21 track days with C7 and really wanted to see someone who could drive running a Mach 1 on track

      Thanks. C7 Z51 sounds like a pretty nice track car. To answer your question: My Mach 1 is on the factory street alignment, since I drive it around town a good bit. The 10-speed shifts super quick, and the 7,250rpm redline also helps to keep the engine above 5 grand pretty much all time. It was my first track day with the Mach 1 at that time, and the car was definitely not at its limit. I was beyond mine, and it being a very hot day, I didn't want to push any harder. I'd say with track alignment, cooler temps and a driver upgrade, the Mach 1 can get close to a 1:40 lap. Hope to see you out there with your own Mach 1 soon.

      @@christophleipold6097 Thanks so much for the reply. Well I did find a new Mach 1 up in NH and bought it November 2022. Up to 600 miles on the 1,000 mile break in. So far, I have changed out the 31 pound front cast iron rotors to 2 piece lighter rotors (20 pounds), and done racing brake pads F & R. Installed a Ford Performance Catch Can, and put in a set of the Schroth Quick Fit Pro 4 point racing harness in the driver's side Recaro. I also pulled the 3 counter sunk screws from the Shelby adjustable strut upper mounts so that I am ready for a track alignment in April. I am glad to see that although it was 95 degrees out there, the Mach 1 seemed to perform well from a cooling perspective. Not much more to do just received my RedLine RL600 Hi Temp DOT4 brake fluid, and larger front brake cooling deflector plates to bolt on to the lower control arms. Can't wait for Spring ! I'll read the comment and reply below about the video and driving data you're using. That's the one thing I really miss . The C7 Performance Data Recorder was a great training aid, but fortunately in 2023 there's plenty of other good options.

    Not bad, what kind of Exhaust do you use?

    • @christophleipold6097
      @christophleipold6097  2 года назад +1

      Thank you, it’s the Mach 1 stock exhaust. It helped that I had taped an external mic to the rear of the car to pick up the sound better.

      @@christophleipold6097 Whoaaaa! The stock exhaust sounds really good! After removing the stock EU headers (we had a PDF intalled too) my Mach1 does sounds similar, but that work was a pain in the ass.....

    What recording equipment do you use? I'm specifically asking for video and driving data.

      I’m using the TrackAddict phone app, a VEEPEAK OBD II plug, a dead cheap Apeman 4k action camera with an external mic taped to the license plate, a camera mount attached to the headrest, and RaceRender 3 on the computer. All is super easy to use.
