  • Hey everybody it's your boy Byrdman!
This was my second F1000 race from this past Sunday from Carolina Motorsports Park where I competed in the first round of the 2022 North American F1000 Championship.
I had already won the first F1000 race not too long prior to this and had qualified P2 this time instead of P4. However, this time I was unable to take the lead off the start so it made things even more interesting when I had to find my way past my fast competitor Shane Prieto who had amazing straight-line speed. This was a really fun battle with him, and I had to drive the best I ever had this whole weekend to keep up with the competition!
Thanks everybody for watching, enjoy! Byrdman OUT!

Nice drive! Is that right radiator pod hinged? It sure moves a lot.

It’s connected to the floorboard which is attached to and held up by the car frame!

Why is your car so skittish/nervous in the corners? Bad setup?

The F1000 car by nature if you’re driving it properly and on the limit will naturally drive off of the rears on the exits when applying the power if it’s setup without massive understeer. However, looking back on this video I can tell that the car still had too much understeer on the entry!
It’s kind of like a go-kart, where loose is fast. If you don’t get any action in the rear in an F1000 car, especially on power down, you’re just going to be miserably slow dealing with understeer on the exit.

This was therapeutic to watch. I hope I can get into the F1000 series at some point. O:

I’m glad to hear that. The F100 series is a great series. Fast cars and the competition I feel like is only going to get better!
