Carolina Motorsports Park hosted their first Turn One Track Day after a full repaving and the track is fast. The track layout is unchanged, but the new engineered track surface makes the track feel completely different. The new pavement is fast and is easy on tires. The asphalt is a special mix for race tracks and has a hardened, smooth outer layer. Best lap time was a 1:41.6!

@@BeastZL1 so Mesa just set the 600 record at a 1:30 flat. On some sticky ish tires, I run a hair under 1:40 there, at a decent advanced group trackday pace.
I’d say quick racers there can pull low 33-36’s consistently at race pace.
Nice Job, Was there Monday for a Supercar Rally I put on and it was a great track. Best lap was a 1:39.67 on some Heat cycled out Cup 2's in my GT3RS. For sure will be going back at some point.

Hmmm....I don't understand how in Performance Traction Management (PTM) mode Race....Stabila Track came on 8:31. My understand is that in race mode this won't come in and "catch" you.
Track PTM Race has a low level of traction control, but stabilitrac (Stability Control) is fully off. It will allow you to spin the tires and use the throttle to rotate the car, but will reduce power or throttle if excessive spin is detected.

Front tires sounded like they got a bit overheated at the end there. Awesome driving though, really fast through the kink. Time for a set of R888's!
It was the green track. It was totally virgin asphalt.

Yes, they removed the bump that randomly upset the rear suspension.
@@BeastZL1 I was worried about that. I'm there next month on a motorcycle. This track was such garbage for so many years. I'll be at VIR as well next month, which is my favorite track.

No, but the bump at the apex is gone.
How much does it cost to race there as a beginner anything I should bring helmet spare tires etc? I wanna go race my old 13 1le before I kick the proverbial bucket.
Typical track fee is $150 to $250 depending on the organization. There is a SCCA Track Night in America event that is tailored for beginners in October.
