    A Camaro ZL1 spins big during a track event at Carolina Motorsports Park. My video and break down of what happened. Car and driver were ok. Turn 10, aka The Kink, is a high speed corner at Carolina Motorsports Park which can easily surprise drivers. I've been through there over 100 times, but increased speed and driver error resulted in unrecoverable oversteer.

    it seems to me that more brake would only worsen the oversteer going through the turn. I have never been to CMP, but it seems to me based on your video that the kink is one of those turns where you want to have a little throttle input early on to balance the car and keep some load on the rear. Similar to turn 10 at Watkins Glen.

    If your data is correct you were braking into the apex. This is pushing weight to the front of your car. More brake will only cause that affect to worsen. Your exit looks early as you track out towards the curb rather than further down the track towards the dirt on the left hand side past the curbing. My thoughts would be that you want to have your entry speed set prior to apex so you can go to the throttle rather than more steering input. My thoughts are that this is max speed combined with early apex. At 1:23 I see you putting in steering angle with brake. The sliding wheel wants to lead due to loss of traction. You could coast but your suspension is not working. You definitely do not want to be on the brake. Glad you are okay along with the car. That tidal wave of sand sucked! Monster car!

    Was wondering if you were going to post this. Glad the beast is ok. Traded my GT350 for a Porsche Cayman, so much more fun.

    You have to have the braking done before the kink

    Did you have TC and ESP completely OFF? Or just Race mode? I found that all nanies off let me feel car better and I can react faster when car slides (especially with too hot tires). But I have SS 1LE.

      TCM Race, so stability control is off, but traction control is minimally there.

      @@BeastZL1 In TCM Race I had few moments, where I overreacted... very hot tires, car started to slide, I wanted just small correction... but I felt no reaction from the car and ended with overcorrection. I've been driving with everything off ever since (on track)... and for me, its safer way paradoxically :)

      @@tonous83 the SS 1LE and ZL1 are slightly different animals, since the ZL1 has more power and weight. PTM race allows earlier throttle on corner exit with some safety net. It still allows you to rotate the car with the throttle mid-corner. It comes down to driving style, experience, and a little bit of risk/reward.
