I can’t imagine taking down Christmas tree or decorations until after Ukrainian Christmas (January 7th), I suppose because that’s what my family has always done, but also because they are so pretty, and why not appreciate them longer? There is such a long cold and dark period from the festive holiday season until spring that it seems to break it up a bit more.🎄

Yup! For the last two days I’ve been weighed down in the recliner by a snuggly baby. It’s against the rules to move while they’re asleep. And I think I only ate cookies, popcorn and gummy bears on Monday. (Gotta get them out of the house before New Years 😆) It’s a good thing my better half is working this week or I’d be completely lost.
How I miss these days. From 2002-2009 had the ability to take the last two weeks of the year using minimal vacation time, as Christmas eve, Christmas day, New Years day were all paid holidays, and New Years eve was a half workday. Remember two consecutive years taking 16 days off in a row using 7-8 days of vacation personal time. My current employer doesn't allow any vacation to be scheduled the week of Christmas or the week after and any time off other than the recognised holiday of Christmas Day or New Years day requires proof of illness, death in the family, or whatever emergency that required you to miss a day or more.
Man, I didn’t think you could get more relatable until I saw the Apple Watch randomly start picking up text. I just got one and have no idea how I set it off sometimes. Happy New Year and enjoy the couch!!
So true! I've been "working" this week but most of my team has disappeared until the new year. I decided to telework the last 2 work days of the year so at least I can get something done at home. I do not take down my Christmas decorations until after January 6, Eastern European Christmas (i.e Epiphany).
I wish our week was like that... We always have something every day we have to go to... A family Christmas party or two left over. Family guests in town, This thing with so and so, putting away decor in-between, cleaning, activities a kid was invited to, Everyone knows your not busy, so they plan everything that week. Plus people still work... So mom's doing everything at home to get to whatever shindig as soon as dad's car pulls in, we are off.. it's a super exhausting week. End of year Deadlines also. We usually have some kind of car or house emergency problem to resolve, some kind of starting school to prepare for, game nights, restaurants, some group winter snow activitiy, friends and family events. It's super exhausting... plus the trash pickup is late and gets forgotten and is overflowing... And everyone thinks we have your week of doing nothing and doesn't understand why after a vacation off, I need a vacation off... We do struggle with time and changing clothes... These are run by holiday gatherings and public appearance.
"Have I only eaten cookies today?" hits way too close to home.
The left over dip was me🤣

I did ask myself that question about only eating cookies all day 😅
I'm guilty too.
I absolutely follow the "don't move if the dog is sleeping on you," rule. It's gospel for my sweet doggo

i ALWAYS lose track of the days
By FAR the MOST confusing week of the year.
We live by the "As long as Christmas decorations are down by Valentines Day, we're good." rule :D
We live by the “take the tree down and if the lights don’t get taken down then who cares, we don’t gotta put them up next year” rule
I know right! That’s our mantra too

So true! I've been "working" this week but most of my team has disappeared until the new year. I decided to telework the last 2 work days of the year so at least I can get something done at home. I do not take down my Christmas decorations until after January 6, Eastern European Christmas (i.e Epiphany).
I actually checked with my wife just last night, "is tomorrow subject to any 'holiday influences'. I was so glad when told me no!
Amen! The struggle is real!
I would decay on that couch and never move, but I would not make that precious fur baby move off of me! 😂🥰
I watch these with my mom .she likes them
I wish our week was like that...
I actually have to work during this week every year and I'm still getting messed up on days!
