    “He’s too self sacrificial” is kinda the best way to describe Peter Parker. It’s the defining trait of every Spider-Man in any universe, the willingness to put all others above oneself. It’s what I wish I had the strength to be, it’s what we could all stand to be more of to make the world a better place. This is why Spider-Man will always be my favourite superhero.

    Just a particular detail for those that are still confused or wondering... Everyone in Tom's universe has forgotten who Peter Parker is. But they all know Spiderman exists. All of the chaos, destruction, and the fights that he's been in basically means that the public just knows or is aware of Spiderman, just not who his real identity is.
    Tony Stark figured out who Peter Parker was after doing some digging in Civil War. But if he was still alive to this point, Dr. Strange's spell would have made him forget Peter entirely but not Spiderman. In an alternate timeline or universe where Tony didn't die in Endgame, maybe there's a chance he would have tried to work out Spiderman's identity again just for kicks or if whenever he deemed necessary.
    Why am I talking about Tony? Because the fact that after the spell was cast and everyone forgot Peter Parker, it means he can't use his nanotech Iron Spider suit anymore. The Stark technology doesn't recognize Peter as its user anymore, hence that's why he makes his new one from scratch at the end.

    • @rayray9865
      @rayray9865 2 года назад +29

      I feel like the last portion is a bit flawed saying that he can't use the nanotech anymore since it's not fitted to Peter Parker anymore because if all the events of Civil War happened and Spiderman was in all of those events that means that Tony made the suit for Spider-Man regardless of who the identity was. Now if you don't want to use that then you can simply say that he could reverse-engineer the nanotec so that it works for him, because he in a sense he did that to the suit in homecoming and Spider-Man is smart enough to do something like that. But ultimately I still think and I'm pretty sure it's the real reason that Peter decided to leave his Tony Stark ec suits as a closing of a book a chapter in his life he's trying to move on and I think that's the real reason not because he can't use the suit anymore.

    This Spider-Man film really hits on the classic saying "With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility". You may be upset about the ending but that is a part of the Spider-Man character. When you're a super hero sacrificing yourself for others all the time you don't get alot of happy endings. Peter didn't want the weight of his burden on Ned and MJs shoulders he wants them to be happy even if that means sacrificing his own happiness. It's like Aunt Mays speech in "Spider-Man 2"; " I believe there's a hero in all of us, that keeps us honest, gives us strength, makes us noble, and finally allows us to die with pride, even though sometimes we have to be steady, and give up the thing we want the most. Even our dreams"

It also brought him to a point in his life that is very recognizable for comic fans, broke and living on his own with no real support system from the rest of the superheros, and it is in this state that I personally fell in love with the character so in a twisted way that I'm not entirely proud of I am quite happy that this happened to him because now whatever comes next I just know is going to be the best spiderman content we've seen to date.

That being said Tom's Peter is not the Amazing Spiderman's Peter. He actually resembles the Peter from Spectacular Spiderman. I will say he eventually gave us a really cool Spiderman character. Plato described a hero by something called the "Four Cardinal Virtues." These virtues are
    1) Prudence--being able to recognize the right thing
    2) Justice--the determination to do the right thing
    3) Fortitude--the ability to endure the consequence of doing the right thing
    4) Temperance--the ability to give up what we want in order to do the right thing
    Every great hero exemplifies these traits to varying degrees. Peter, because of his youth, consistently lacks the first one and often must seek counsel and advice. But once he can finally see the right thing, his strengths take over. Spider-Man is among the greatest of all modern superheroes because he exemplifies the determination, fortitude and self-sacrifice to do what is *right* regardless of consequences.
    Even when he must stand alone

    4:31 This is Matt Murdock “A Really Good Lawyer” who also happens to be the Blind vigilante known as Daredevil a Street level hero who’s active in Hell Kitchen. He first appeared in Daredevil #1 April 1964 just two years after Spider-Man’s first appearance. They’ve worked together for years sharing the common goal of protecting New York from criminals with the Kingpin being a shared villain between Daredevil and Spider-Man.
    I honestly don’t blame you for not knowing how massive this reveal was as this is his first appearance within an MCU film so unless you’re heavy into Marvel outside of the MCU you’ll probably have no clue who he was. Daredevil does have his own Netflix show featuring Charlie Cox who returns as Matt in this film wearing the same glasses and overall suit style. The show for years was debated if it took place within the MCU as the show never referenced anything from the movies besides some nods at The New York invasion from The Avengers not never commenting on what happened. Avengers tower was also never seen in the Manhattan Skyline the show very much isolated itself from the MCU. But now with Charlie Cox appearing as Matt in No Way Home this pretty much confirms that the Netflix shows are canon to the MCU which is great as Daredevil is such an amazing show highly recommend.
    5:31 Fun little nod to the DC comic Flashpoint which featured Barry Allen (Flash) traveling back in time to prevent Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, from murdering his mother. As a result, a Butterfly Effect-esque “flashpoint” causing radical changes to the DC Universe. This in a way links to the changes our MCU Peter makes to the villains by “fixing” them he sends them back into newly created universes where they survived which will have many changes from the original universes.
    So just the be clear on the villains. They went back to alternate universes, ones where they survived rather than returning to the main universes we saw in the Rami and Webb films. The actions of Peter in this film does not rewrite the Sam Rami or Marc Webb films those still play out exactly the same. Every choice, action, or decision creates a branched universe an infinite amount so like I mentioned instead of rewriting the history of the films the villains are set back into alternated universes which were created once they left/returned. Think of it as tree's with the Main MCU/Rami/Webb being the Tree and the branches being different universes based off the main MCU/Sami/Webb where events played out differently. Same thing applies to the Marvel comic's, games, movies, and shows all have their original universe (Tree) but also branched off versions where choices played out differently but the overall artistic stayed the same. This is why the MCU artistic carries over into the What If series along with the renditions of events from the MCU, character designs, and of course voice actors.
    We also have Marvel's Dimensions which act as realms beyond like The Dark Dimension (Hell pretty much) but Marvel also uses the term for the many Spider universes overseen by Madam Web like the Spider-Verse which seems to act more like how DC universes operate different Earths vibrating at different frequency's instead of being liked to time. This just say that Marvel uses all theories of the many Multiverse types which all could be true when looked at from our world. DC of course have 52 Main Earth's but there's no doubt an infinite amount outside of this collection.
    Spider-Man 1 to 3 of course still happened but there's now at least two different Sam Rami branch universes one where Goblin didn't die and another where Doc Ock somehow survived by finding a different way to stop his machine. Spider-Man 2 would've played out totally different if Norman was still alive who knows maybe Doc Ock's project could've worked in this universe with the help of Norman instead of Harry who really just funded the projected. Unsure about Sandman he could've just returned to the main Sam Rami universe but you know he's cured now. But if he was pulled out right when he found out Peter was Spider-Man then this would've created another universe one where maybe he no longer could've helped Venom in his fight against Spider-Man making it much easier for Peter. Harry could've also survived as well in this universe.
    Sam Rami Universe's
    Main: Spider-Man 1 to Spider-Man 3 (These play out the same)
    Alternate Universe 1: Spider-Man 1 (Goblin doesn't die and hopefully carries on with his company but who knows if he'll return to his testing)
    Alternate Universe 2: Spider-Man 1 and Spider-Man 2 (Goblin still dies in the universe with Spider-Man 1 playing out the same but in Spider-Man 2 Doc Ock lives and most likely Carries on being good hell maybe he marries Aunt May like in the comic's. No doubt Spider-Man 3 would play out pretty different but who knows.)
    Marc Webb Universe's
    Main: The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2 (These play out the same)
    Alternate 1: The Amazing Spider-Man 1 (Lizard is cured early maybe Gwen's Dad doesn't die in this universe depending on when Lizard was pulled out)
    Alternate 2: The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2 (In this universe the first move plays out the same but in the 2nd Electro pretty much survives returning with a new look which no doubt being a big surprise to Peter)
    Notes on the people in the sky below
    In that shot of the sky being ripped open you can kind of make out a bunch of Spider-Man villains. The one with the Spear is Kraven The Hunter, The character with the long looking stinger is Scorpion, There's a person who looks kind of like Black Cat, We also see a character with a horn who looks like the classic Rhino in that skin tight suit rather than the militant looking mech suit in Amazing Spider-Man 2, Mysterio which i kind of see could be another Mysterio from a different universe, and finally Superior Spider-Man with the tentacles on his back pretty much a story where Doc Ock took over Peter's Body and became Superior Spider-Man.
    These are all still up for debate but Mysterio was actually confirmed by Marvel as one of those people in the Sky. Other people think they saw Miles as well a skinny tall humanoid shape which suits his character while other people have brought up Madame Web so there’s a lot of possible hints at future characters.
    This is also why time travel works completely different in the MCU compared to other time travel mediums. If you go back in time and kill yourself you simply don’t disappear like we see in Back to the Future but instead you create an alternated universe where you die while your original universes carries on with zero changes. If the Avengers killed Thano’s as a baby this would just create a universe where Thano’s never excited but this doesn’t change anything within the mainline MCU.

      The problem is what moment they were pulled from and what they return to. Doc Ock mentioned having Peter by the throat, which was near the end of his movie. No word on Norman.
      Basically, will they have time upon their return to make use of the change?

    • @CaptainAmercia
      @CaptainAmercia 2 года назад +2

      @@aaronlovik4881100% but Doc even had the time to think about how he could destroy his machine without the need to kill himself while he was in the MCU. Plus Norman was pull in far before his fight with Peter and his death most likely right after the Thanksgiving dinner with Aunt May. His suit wasn’t damaged at all when he appeared on The Bridge so it couldn’t be when he was in combat with Peter as his Suit was badly damaged. Electric is the only person I can’t really see living even more so now that he has no powers the electric would cook him alive.
      Sandman could honestly return to his original universe with zero problems depending on when he was pulled in when Spider-Man was taking place or right after Spider-Man 3. Lizards of course survived but him being cured has a massive impact on the The Amazing Spider-Man 1 film as that action would’ve created an alternate universe anyways as originally he was cured in the movie.

    • @aaronlovik4881
      @aaronlovik4881 2 года назад +1

      Good point about Norman. Sandman should also be fine. He showed up ready to help Peter, so it was after he left the fight.
      I'm curious to see if these alternate realities are explored anymore. Or if there were more accidental crossovers after the spell was cast. We got a little bit of symbiote, maybe something else?

    • @Banterbear
      @Banterbear 2 года назад

      So they weren't actually saved, in that version of time theory. The originals still die, but you created new versions. That seems actually pointless. BTW, I know there are different ways of doing alternate timelines, they don't always split. In fact, in Loki, we can see the Time Authority going around keeping the timeline contained; in effect branches being cut as if they were never there. Who knows if the original versions of villains deaths played out the same?

    15:12 Machina di Kadavus is basically latin for "Kadavus' Machine".
    Though it might be a play on words, since Kadavus is close to "Cadaver", which can be roughly translated to "Vessel".

    Loved this theatre reaction. It’s the best one yet. I loved how you’re all caught up on the spidey lore and recognised all the different villains and alternative spidermen.

    4:39 That would be Matt Murdoch, or Daredevil :) You should watch that series, its really good, and now they're bringing him into the MCU.

    When Peter was on Goblin he did the crazy laugh off the cuff, actually scaring Tom Holland.... I loved loved loved how they each had their own landings.... It was the "everyone who knows and loves you. WE wont remember you." so he loses another mentor.

    This is the most innovative reaction video I've ever seen. You don't have to avoid spoilers for months, and we still get your true first reaction. Sit on the footage until the movie comes out on digital - I hope this is how reaction videos go for big theater releases moving forward. Awesome stuff!

    Our hearts hurting for him at the end is why Spiderman is so endearing. The self-sacrifice is what makes him a superhero everyone loves.

    should watch the movies with Tobey and Andrew for more appreciation, and the Daredevil series. Daredevil will also help you when you get to Hawkeye, if you plan to react to that one.

    *Spider-Manface* has always been a somewhat tragic hero. And he's always worked best that way. But from the moment we meet him in the _MCU,_ he's given a major suit upgrade, and then another even more major suit upgrade along with all these incredible resources. And things work out for him with MJ. That's _never_ been his story before. So, I think they're simply trying to do a reset. Because (at least historically) that's worked best. 🤷🏼‍♂️
    *Edit:* And yes, I know that is _soooo_ *not* your thing. 😏😉

    4:36 he's Matt Murdock!! Aka Daredevil. The blind crime fighting lawyer. There is a Netflix daredevil show, but I've never watched it so maybe someone else can tell you if it's worth watching or not but Daredevil was one of my favorite Marvel characters as a kid in the 90s.
    He's one of those characters that had occasional team ups with spiderman so it's a nice touch seeing him in this.
    I dont think the netflix show is actually part of the MCU so maybe they're going to bring him in, I hope so. He's just one of those characters that everyone likes.

    Loved this movie! Btw Tom signed to do 3 more Spider-Man movies. And his lawyer was Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. You need to watch the Daredevil show that was added to Disney plus. And you see Venom pulled into the MCU at the end of Venom 2. Hated he never met Parker but since he left some symbiote behind guess Tom will get his own Venom(or at least a black costume). And now Vulture won’t know Parker is Spider-Man and he’s in the new Morbius movie. Loved Spider-Man new costume at the end. Oh and as for the Statue of Liberty with Caps shield it’s mentioned in the Hawkeye show and you can see a billboard for Rogers the musical in the beginning and that’s from it as well
