#throttlebody #intakeboot #issue
They usually crack due to failed engine mounts. Upgrade the mounts to a solid mount. The prowlers may have a solid mount already, but it's a major issue on the atvs. Causing intake cracks and failure, case failure and worse.
this is not true at all
It is a known problem. Why do you say otherwise?
@@millennialmechanic the intake boot is not connected to the frame on the prowler
As stated in my first comment. Did you just read the first sentence?
@@millennialmechanic not clearly stated. you said may have a solid mount. that isn't correct either.
Does this make it idle like crap and die? And maybe even backfire? Tore into my 2006 500 atv because the shop had a long wait time and found a large Crack all the way through the intake boot. seems to run fine when on the throttle but backfires alot going down hill
Yes, it would make the air/fuel mixture off by sucking too much air through a cracked boot. Hope you can get it fixed! 👍🏼
Do you know if this will work on a 04 400 or does it have the boot woth the bolts that goes in the intake ?
My artic cat 700 runs perfect
Jim Bob Good to hear! Not all of them have this problem.
I've got a 2011 arctic cat 450 efi. Mine won't idle but will run decent if I give it throttle. A code came up for the throttle position sensor (p0121). Any idea how to fix that problem?
Matt Yernesek Sounds like the TPS needs adjusted. You’ll need to use the diagnostic plug(under the seat) then loosen the screw and adjust it according to the service manual. Then reset the codes. I don’t have a 450 I can show you on but hopefully I can make a video on the process soon!
Mine is doing the exact thing bro did u ever get it?
@@lawsonstandridge1384 yes. It was the throttle position sensor. I bought a new one and found a RUclips video on how to adjust it. It was actually a pretty easy fix
I’m looking at a 2009 700 that will only run on starter fluid? Could this be why it won’t run?
Some around 2009 had bad fuel pumps, it should be getting 43psi. I would start checking there!
I should be acquiring an AC400 tomorrow in a trade form cement. Owner said it will run for some time then die; he has swapped the carb. My initial thought is fuel injector. I have not seen the vehicle yet.
Thoughts?
No reason to change the carb unless it’s damaged! You need spark, air and gas to run so just go through by process of elimination. Clean it with carb cleaner and compressed air. Load test the battery. Check the plug gap. Make sure you have fuel to the carb. Etc.
if it is cracked like that would it cause a loss of power?
Rene Possibly. It may run rough or have a loss of power depending on how bad it is. If the crack is all the way through the rubber gasket it will cause the air/fuel mixture to be off and will be sucking dirty air in the throttle body that will cause damage to the engine.
I have a artic cat 700 efi and my 4x4 stop working and when I put gas in the carb it starts to run you know why that happens ?
I would start by checking the fuel pressure. It should have constant 43psi. The 4x4 may be a loose connection somewhere.
Do you know where the MAP sensor is on that setup? Also, do you know where the crank positioning sensor is on the engine. I have a code 12 and 13. I started by replacing the APS as it was only $30......but still spitting out the codes. (2011 Arctic Cat 550 ATV) Thanks for any advice!
The MAP sensor is on the throttle body, I haven't known one of those to go bad. Have you cleared the codes after replacing? ruclips.net/video/GjBNnlUykqo/видео.html
You'll also need to resync the EFI system after adjusting or replacing components on the throttle body. ruclips.net/video/5mnc3PAVihQ/видео.html
My Arctic cat 550 efi do only 60km/hr and it cut. So what can I do????
You may check your spark plug, make sure the TPS is set correctly, Does it idle fine? ruclips.net/video/OthyEtwCJ80/видео.html
my 2006 artic cat 500 sputters when i gives it the trottle in 4wheel drive but when its in 2 wheel drive its ok other than it seems like it doesnt have full power
Seems like a carb issue. Clean the carb with cleaner and compressed air to blow out the passages.
my 08 650 H1 is a beast to start. Has been since new. Bought the Thundercat redution gear starter kit, and PC 680 battery hoping it would help! still hard to start, and even worse when warmed up. Any fixes for this issue that you know of.
I would start by cleaning the carb thoroughly with both cleaner and compressed air. Also check or replace the fuel pump. Does it turn over freely?
@@ArcticFrost it turns over freely when cold! when hot it drags heavily, and drains the battery.
Check the spark plug gap. Timing could be too advanced.
Check your valves and adjust as well bud. That’ll cause it sometimes.
@@dirtysouthoffroad6402 actually I bought a starter from a different manufacturer! it now starts better then when new
my 2011 700 XTX will not start but ran perfect when i put it away in nov. any ideas
I would suspect the battery has gone bad. The clock has a little draw which over time will drain the battery. You should be able to get it load tested for free at an auto parts store.
you do not need to remove all of the connectors to get this job done
True! I was working on a bunch of other stuff on this one as well.
My 2008 700 EFI arctic cat will start and idle sometimes when you hit the gas it will stall out
so I give it more fuel she will run put it in drive
And run after a long drive you can hear a back fire once in a while.... What is the problem if someone can help?
You might check your fuel pump. Here are a few things you can check: ruclips.net/video/u54f9zRmRfo/видео.html
Carburetor... sounds like choke is on
@@ursg9910 he said its efi does not have a carburetor
