    Do you know if this will work on a 04 400 or does it have the boot woth the bolts that goes in the intake ?

  • @millennialmechanic

    They usually crack due to failed engine mounts. Upgrade the mounts to a solid mount. The prowlers may have a solid mount already, but it's a major issue on the atvs. Causing intake cracks and failure, case failure and worse.

    I should be acquiring an AC400 tomorrow in a trade form cement. Owner said it will run for some time then die; he has swapped the carb. My initial thought is fuel injector. I have not seen the vehicle yet.
    Thoughts?

    • @ArcticFrost
      @ArcticFrost  3 года назад +2

      No reason to change the carb unless it’s damaged! You need spark, air and gas to run so just go through by process of elimination. Clean it with carb cleaner and compressed air. Load test the battery. Check the plug gap. Make sure you have fuel to the carb. Etc.

    I’m looking at a 2009 700 that will only run on starter fluid? Could this be why it won’t run?

    • @ArcticFrost

      Some around 2009 had bad fuel pumps, it should be getting 43psi. I would start checking there!

    • @ArcticFrost

      Seems like a carb issue. Clean the carb with cleaner and compressed air to blow out the passages.

    Does this make it idle like crap and die? And maybe even backfire? Tore into my 2006 500 atv because the shop had a long wait time and found a large Crack all the way through the intake boot. seems to run fine when on the throttle but backfires alot going down hill

    • @ArcticFrost
      @ArcticFrost  Год назад +1

      Yes, it would make the air/fuel mixture off by sucking too much air through a cracked boot. Hope you can get it fixed! 👍🏼

    • @ArcticFrost
      @ArcticFrost  3 года назад

      I would suspect the battery has gone bad. The clock has a little draw which over time will drain the battery. You should be able to get it load tested for free at an auto parts store.

  • @renesadventures829
    @renesadventures829 4 года назад +2

    if it is cracked like that would it cause a loss of power?

    • @ArcticFrost
      @ArcticFrost  4 года назад +3

      Rene Possibly. It may run rough or have a loss of power depending on how bad it is. If the crack is all the way through the rubber gasket it will cause the air/fuel mixture to be off and will be sucking dirty air in the throttle body that will cause damage to the engine.

    I've got a 2011 arctic cat 450 efi. Mine won't idle but will run decent if I give it throttle. A code came up for the throttle position sensor (p0121). Any idea how to fix that problem?

    • @ArcticFrost
      @ArcticFrost  3 года назад +1

      Matt Yernesek Sounds like the TPS needs adjusted. You’ll need to use the diagnostic plug(under the seat) then loosen the screw and adjust it according to the service manual. Then reset the codes. I don’t have a 450 I can show you on but hopefully I can make a video on the process soon!

    Do you know where the MAP sensor is on that setup? Also, do you know where the crank positioning sensor is on the engine. I have a code 12 and 13. I started by replacing the APS as it was only $30......but still spitting out the codes. (2011 Arctic Cat 550 ATV) Thanks for any advice!
