- Coney fights as Little Mac from Punch Out for the Wii! Facing adversaries from all over the country, Coney starts in the Minor Circuit and works his way up to the World Circuit to claim the belt. How will his adventure fair fighting against Disco Kid giving him hints on when he'll swing? What about the sodapoppin Soda Popinski and his fast swings? Will Coney get to fighting Mr. Sandman? One thing's for certain and it's that Doc's not going to give any solid advice with these fights. It's up to Coney to adapt and overcome!

First time I saw Mr Sandman I thought he'd be called Big Mac
Apparently Giga Mac was supposed to be called Big Mac but the never got the license to make that joke so we got that instead
I think something that goes underappreciated about this game is its sound design, the audio cues when an opponent is about to attack is sometimes more helpful than the visual ones. And I love the unique ones like Von Kaiser's sounding like a ticking clock or cocking a gun, and Soda Popinski's sounding like popping open a soda can, so good.
Well one of his lines is "Cuckoo! Cuckoo! You're time is up!" so it makes sense.
Coney saying Yare Yare Daze like a children's rhyme made my day

Punch Out for the Wii always manages to put a smile on my face. I genuinely feel like the devs put love into this game, and it makes me happy :)

Fun fact: After Coney loses to TD Von Kaiser due Coney not knowing which way he goes, Von Kaiser says this:

This translates to "Am I going to the left? Am I going to the right? Ah ha ha ha!.

@@Fading3clipse To be fair, Little Mac in that game is CLEARLY based off of his NES counterpart (with some Arcade spliced in), which is void of a personality.
If it were based off of Wii Mac, he'd have a Star Punch and not a KO Punch. There would also be WAY more tracks from Punch-Out!! Wii, too, but there's only Minor, World, and the FUCKING TITLE THEME.
Not to mention, even in Wii, Mac doesn't emote anything other than "I won!", "I lost..." and "Grr.. Mr. Sandman...". This is of course not mentioning his hit animations, because those are pretty lacking in facial expression too.
I think Sakurai represented his NES counterpart more because Little Mac in Brawl was LITERALLY his NES appearance, and so, leveling him up from Assist to actual fighter, they decided to keep his NES roots, and sprinkle a LITTLE bit of Punch-Out Wii stuff in his updated appearance, alts, music, and stuff like that.
Hell, all of the Spirits for his franchise are based off of NES/SNES characters, only using the Wii renders because they're the best representations of them, as Disco Kid doesn't make an appearance.

I've never heard of you before, but this is my favorite game so this got recommended to me and now I'm subscribed
I must say it is fascinating to watch someone play Punch Out for the first time. Not even meant as an insult or anything, its cool to see the learning process.
I also never heard Bear Hugger's "i like raw fish" line. That plus him taking a nap right after made me laugh so hard i woke my dad up. God damn.
Edit: and yes Aran Ryan is fucking amazing in this game. Massive improvement from his appearance in Super.
