13:04 THAT'S US! We're the Mario Superstar Baseball esports you're looking for!! That game is so deep, our whole channel is dedicated to playing it competitively.
20:47 it’s very nice of Coney to occasionally throw a take in his streams that reminds the audience you shouldn’t consider his thoughts & opinions seriously
13:10 Just wanted to say, yes Coney please check out the Mario Baseball scene! The Project RIO team has developed rollback netplay which they use for tournaments and a matchmaking leaderboard. The channel featured here, Dinger City, has a great community and some amazing content. I think it's right up your alley.
That's insane that even for such a niche game there's rollback and Nintendo still stuck with terrible net code lol. Gotta admire the dedication from the fans, though
17:08 peach is playing well there. Coins get converted into points when you make a goal. They cap out at 100 tho, but still its fun shooting a 3 pointer ang getting 103 points.
19:54 Don’t talk shit about dodgeball. Dodgeball is awesome. Also deadass the dodgeball mode in this game was fucking amazing. Would replay that mode endlessly. Crazy fun mode that I’d love to get a full game
Guitar Hero, DDR, and other music games with unoriginal soundtracks are "dead" because licensing is prohibitively expensive. I think it's telling that the most popular modern rythm games either have original soundtracks or dodge the liscensing issue entirely with "user generated content", i.e. custom charts of yoinked music.
Every time a Coney video pops up in my reccommended about a topic I enjoy I'm always like "surely he can't have the most baffling takes imaginable on this topic too" and yet I'm always surprised...
I’m genuinely impressed with smaller creators that put this much effort into their content and saddened that so many people who do less are more popular
Shout out to the Golden Sun bros. I feel like Mario sports games have gotten worse as online play has gotten more prevalent. In the old days, what carried a game's longevity was whatever content was on the disk/cartridge, now there seems to be this weird idea that competitive online play is all that matters, and the local/single player modes have suffered for it.
Competitive Mario Superstar Baseball is a thing! People are freaking cracked. Dinger City does lots of videos, and Baltor and Buddies has a bunch of competitive games, including a bunch from the LAN events that have taken place
Mario Strikers Charged is my top game of all time. I'm sure Coney talks a LOT about this in the video but Charged is the MOST fun I've ever had in a video game. Some games are "fun," but then some games are FUN. I could play Charged with my friends till the day I die. Made incredible use of the Wiimote, has a great cast, fast and snappy controls, and it gives characters so much life and personality. Please go play Mario Strikers Charged.
Mario Hoops 3 on 3 was insanely good, but that also means that I'm really scared they are going to make a new Basketball game in the future since they will probably ruin it just as they ruined football and tennis...
Mario sports mix has been one of my favorite nintendo games. I don't know why people don't talk about it or play. It's full of content. edit: I thought dodgeball was the best mode. Very competitive with lower rng behind it compared to the other games. and had a bunch of neat tricks and glitches you can do.
15:32 Silly Coney, this is a react video, not Cringe Confessional. But in all seriousness, it's always nice to see someone so passionate about something. It really does suck thst Battle League couldn't carry that magic.
I got into the Dinger City YT for competitive Mario Baseball. Very good to have on while doing something and cool that the meta changes happen each season.
Mario Sports Superstars was an EXTREME let down, plus the amiibo card crap. If Bandai makes another Mario Baseball, since the sport is very popular in Japan, I hope it's a full game at launch.
20:33 Okay, but the literal second Coney did this, that derailed the video in my eyes. He could've just acted like he misspoke, but then he doubled down.
I miss when the sports games were some of the best on their console. Mario Tennis for the N64 was a go to for years with friends. It was so fun to set 2 CPU's at the hardest setting and then get super invested into beating their ass with a friend. Mario Superstar Slugger was also such an incredible game. I remember when the Switch Mario Tennis came out and I was super hyped. Ended up playing through about half of the story mode, playing a few hours with friends, and playing a few hours online. There just wasn't enough content and it wasn't that fun. Decided to give Golf for the Switch a shot and had the same underwhelming experience. Didn't even pick up Mario Strikers on Switch because I knew it was just gonna disappoint. They went from being some of the best on their system to being underwhelming trash.
Mario Tennis on Switch with no special moves/items/hazards is great. I used to play with my siblings as a child and we all love the Switch one as well. Strikers on gc and wii were great, sad that the Switch one isn’t good at all.
Here to vouch for Hoops 3-on-3! I got to it too late to ever try multiplayer but the single player and campaign modes were a lot of fun for a lot of hours. The gameplay felt excellent, really good use of the touch screen as a controller that made it super smooth and satisfying. I would still be playing this game from time to time if my shoulder buttons hadn't worn out.
As far as Mario sports on Switch go… I won’t defend Super Rush or Battle League, but Mario Tennis Aces is 100% the best Mario Tennis game. Insanely good gameplay, great roster, decent online. Power Tennis only gets praised more because of nostalgia
NES Open Tournament Golf is fantastic, and holds up even today! That's the one with CPA Donkey Kong handling your finances. If you can find the Japanese cart, you can play on some truly insane courses - like, 800 yard holes, stuff like that.
Explanation about the Tiger Woods South Park thing: (Disclaimer: this is all from memory, so some might be inaccurate.) So, it wasn't a PC game. It was a console game, which, as you probably know, tend to display a message along the lines of "this is a console game, put it in a console" when put into a PC. The problem is that whoever was in charge of making that message didn't know how, or didn't know what they were meant to put there. So they just put an entite episode of South Park... in the disk of an E-rated game.
Coney I can’t shake. Charger is really good but the original strikers is good too. After playing the one on the switch I had to go back to see if I was just wrong the whole time but no I still enjoy it.
Feels like they’d just make it mid like the other Switch sports games, but man do I want a new Mario Baseball. There are so many new characters and teams that could be added after a literal decade and a half
I do love the olympic games series although from what I see anything 2016 and after was extremely mid (3ds 2016 was the last one I played, enjoyed it but not the best ever), but that winter olympics game on the DS is one of my favourite games ever, I lost it as a kid and I've been wanting to buy it back rlly badly recently... I should look online tbh....
Winter Olympics on the DS has a pretty neat story mode too, and the dream snowboarding was so much fun. I played countless hours of it as a kid, but lost the cart at a track meet one time so I’ve never gone back to it not that I’d really want to.
Unpopular Take: They should revive non-Mario sports titles like WaveRacer or 1080 Snowboarding. Considering they've ruined all goodwill Mario has with sports now, it would be a good change of pace.
Never been too into these exept that phase a couple months ago where I got addicted to mario tennis on the switch online emulator but these look so cool, i'm sad they suck, like mario tennis aces looks DOPE and then it's just not good!
nah ima be real, Mario Tennis Aces is great especially if you have 3 other friends for it. Super Rush was really mid Strikers is an absolute disappointment with the smallest roster ever imaginable (smaller than the Charged Football roster at launch) and NOT A SINGLE DIFFERENT STADIUM in terms of gameplay. There is **ONE** stadium.
@@CuteRedPanda64 Aces was updated quite a few times with balance patched, it has a few different courts, the character roster doubled in size, they have different courts (gameplay-wise) and even added some skins and small minigame modes. They did a lot for that game honestly.
How is Super Mario Strikers boring? I've played all the Mario Soccer games and that one is by far my favorite. And why would you just run up to the goal and mash shoot 😂 you can do that in any of the games, doesn't mean it's a good idea like what 😂😂
13:04 THAT'S US! We're the Mario Superstar Baseball esports you're looking for!! That game is so deep, our whole channel is dedicated to playing it competitively.
Love these guys!
dinger city = fun and good
The GOATs of LAN MSSB eSports have arrived
Dinger City and Mario Baseball are my two favorite things in the world
LOVE Dinger City!! Keep up the great work boys!
It is sending me how Coney "liked" the video but actually removed the like because he liked it before
Lmao he took that shit away
Thats my streamer
😂
sending you? to where?
20:47 it’s very nice of Coney to occasionally throw a take in his streams that reminds the audience you shouldn’t consider his thoughts & opinions seriously
Actually made me unreasonably mad
It's a shame the sports line of games have declined so much, there's so much potential for good fun games.
I was waiting for the punchline but you were just sincere
I'm hoping since it has been awhile that they are taking a good amount of time with Mario Baseball.

It's really heart breaking seeing how battle league turned out
If only they delayed it for a little longer and added in more stuff more characters, new mechanics, and new modes and it would've been great...😮💨
17:08 peach is playing well there. Coins get converted into points when you make a goal. They cap out at 100 tho, but still its fun shooting a 3 pointer ang getting 103 points.
The fact it took the Conehead over 2 hours to watch this is very telling RUclips viewers
Shoutouts to Dinger City and the rest of the Mario Baseball community. Highly recommend checking them out.

I just remember that in Sports Mix, White Mage had a straight up orbital strike
Sports Mix, 3 on 3, and Sluggers are the goats. Haven't played strikers charged yet though
13:13 well it just so happens you already gave one of the largest commentators of said e-sport a 5 last react wars (he made the powerpoint video)

Mario Baseball Esports Exists! Look up Dinger City!
Mario Baseball is alive and well! There’s optimized netplay, and some really great content creators out there link Dinger City!

Aces was fun tho, best multiplayer tennis I’ve played (single player is eh, gameplay is prime)
I got into the Dinger City YT for competitive Mario Baseball. Very good to have on while doing something and cool that the meta changes happen each season.
When I read the description I was thinking "Madeon makes video essays now? How do you go from making house music to that?"
I played the mario basketball game for the ds when I was younger and that game was my favorite thing ever
Only one thing can save them now. Mario Chargers. Pick up a foot ball
Mario Sports Superstars was an EXTREME let down, plus the amiibo card crap. If Bandai makes another Mario Baseball, since the sport is very popular in Japan, I hope it's a full game at launch.
I recommend watching mario baseball esports its amazing
Ds and 3ds the same? Extreme L take from coney. It happens to the best of us.

Coney would hate to see modern DDR/ITG and Pump It Up, it’s basically expected from both the players and the charts themselves that you use the bar

Nintendo switch sports is a HUGE disappointment and downgrade on why the series was loved so much. 😮💨
I still don’t know what song plays at the beginning of the video
Mario Golf Super Rush is one of my favorite Mario Sport games

no mario hoops 3 on 3 2, what has this world come to?
Coney's ass is NOT listening. He keeps talking over the video! 😂
he said "even the Gamecube ones" like they aren't the best ones

Mario Golf and Tennis were great games! Even wii sports boxing was hella fun lol.
Sad news: Coney vids kinda fell off on my timeline
