#MoonKnight #Finale #EasterEggs
Well the people who wanted more Moon Knight in the show got their wish, as this episode featured a giant action set piece with 2 Moon Knights, gods, layla [cats and dogs, living together, mass hysteria]. I want to know your thoughts on the finale down in the comments. Personally, I thought it was a great ending to Marc and Stevens arcs, and didn;t try to cram in too much or outside MCU references.
And I loved the post credits scene, which we’re going to talk about a little later on, believe me.
One thing the show has been great at is their music choices. The song at the beginning of this episode is appropriately titled “The end” by Earl Grant. It’s got this kind of dreamy quality that suits the afterlife elements of the show. But the lyrics are spot on for this show, talking about how quests and stories end; eventually you find a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, etc. But our love is a story that never ends. But this isn;t talking about marc and layla, it’s talking about the love shared between marc and steven. Two broken halves who need each other to be whole.
After two episodes we’re back in the real world, as we return to Marc’s body in Alexander’s tomb. Harrow drops thai line [whoever else might be in there] one of many bits of foreshadowing of the twist ending.
Afterwards layla cries over his body and takes the scarab-foreshadowing that she’s going to be a superhero by the end of this episode.
Doug: How is that foreshadowing?
I’ll explain later.
Doug: Okay then.
Check out this mural, with two deities with wings-but the way they have their wings open looks like crocodile mouths being served. Then Harrow's can of judgment morphs into an ax, representing that Ammit it about to become not only the judge, but the executioner of the dead. I mean, she kind of always was because it’s Anubis who weighs the souls of the afterlife, but whatever.
Taweret reanimates the dead to speak to Layla, and I liked the detail that even the dead’s eyes roll up in their heads, just like when avatars take control of them. Coincidentally, this is also what happens to Marc when he switches personalities, which is a real life symptom of DID.
Or maybe it’s not a coincidence, and the show is trying to imply that the alters are actually like new souls people create. Actually, this makes sense because Steven and Marc both appear as separate people in the realm of the dead. Implying that they are two souls living in one body.
Harrow storms the temple, conveniently doesn't notice Layla, and frees Ammit. So immediately Ammit notices that harrow is umpire. Like wicked impure
But, it surprises Harrow to learn that she’s not looking for a perfect man, she wants a bad boy [clip]. This is Ammit already comprising the pure vision that Harrow was following. He thought that she would be the final say in cleansing the world, that ONLY the good people would live. But her wanting to spare harrow shows that she is already making compromises to benefit her own power.
Layla has to find Khonshu’s ushbati-and in a show that’s file with Indiana Jones references, this felt like a nod to this.
I thought it was very interesting that suddenly she is able to see Khonshu. I’m guessing that this is either because Khonshu’s avatar is dead, so he’s not tied to the physical plane-or because he is appealing to her to be his avatar. He calls her [little bug]. Which is a play on her father’s nickname for her.
Now for a few weeks fans have been speculating that this detail-along with the scarab on her band aid in the hospital-meant that she would be getting super powers. And, congrats, you were right. People theorized that she would be the MCU’s version of the villain the scarlet scarab. And her costume does end up with a scarab on the chest, but her costume is green. I think. I’m colorblind. Is it green?
The scarab has major significance in Egyptian mythology. It’s the representation of the god Kepri, who is the god of rebirth. The Egyptians believed that every morning, when the son reappeared, it was reborn as a beetle. Just as Layla is reborn as an avatar in his episode. - Кино

Duolingo will kill my family if I betray it
I LOVED this finale!
At the end credits. After it lists the cast, it shows, what I think is Jake’s moon knight suit. If you pause it right before it transforms into the other heads of the Moon Knight variants.
But... you CAN learn Klingon on Duo Lingo...
DC Character name is pronounced I SIS not E SIS. 5:21
I really enjoy that Khonshu agreed to “Release you both.” Told the truth, per se, but with just enough loophole to allow him to still leverage Jake to finish Harrow “himself.”
As soon as Khonshu agreed to release them I giggled a little because my gf thought they were done with him.
@@zakkmylde1712 you a grown man giggling 😭😂💀
I wonder if Jake is still full Moon Knight.
At some point Mar/ven get hurt and have to deal with it like normal, non-TV people. Waste a good half a season before they (and the audience that are used to TV injuries just being forgotten about) suddenly realize that the scar or injury is gone.
@@zakkmylde1712 nah I’m just joking glad you enjoyed the show
Tbh harrow wasn't wrong about khonshu
Khonshu was not a villian but not a good guy either
I'm glad they focused the finale on Marc and Steven, and that they saved Jake Lockley for the next season instead of rushing his character on the last episode.
I'm happy there's a next season to explore Jake and the Scarlet Scarab more.
I so agree. Waiting for Jake was expected logically and anticipated.
I’m confused I thought Disney is using this show in the emmys for one season shows or something like that ?
@@user-so5fp3kk7d no, Oscar Isaac just only signs 1 season deals at a time :)
@@nicholasfactor It's more that it's *also* that. They submitted Moon Knight in the Limited Series category, which can only have a single season to be eligible. If they have plans for S2 then they'll have to withdraw it from Emmy nomination in the limited series category *and* get Oscar Isaac to resign. To be fair they might already have secretly talked Isaac into that of course, but as of now they're still nominated in limited series so...we're still up in the air until something official is confirmed.
I personally love the twist of having Lockley speaking in Spanish. The Spanish had a Guatemalan/central American tough guy accent. One sentence and it gave me the impression of (damn...guy is a thug!). Bravo for this twist.
Isaacs is from Guatemala.
As someone who was previously unfamiliar with Moon Knight, I had a fresh take, and I thought the show was spectacular! Not only was the plot and character development very well done, the music was just outstanding, as were the visuals, of course. I’m excited to see how it will all tie in to the MCU!
Yes! I'm certain that the "lack of blood" in the series is because blood only appears when Jake Lockley was in control. Marc and Steven block out blood with the exception to Jake's antics. Whenever Jake is or was present blood is in the scene. Its his calling card.
Except when there is a ton of blood when they are in the tomb and the priest is killing people and removing their organs 👀
I think Steven and Marc never see the blood THEY spill because they have a good or decent moral compass. But Jake has no mercy for their enemies. Steven is the light, Jake is the dark side that Steven and Marc choose to not acknowledge and Marc is both but sides more with Steven than Jake
@@jeffcraighenry He was talking about blood during combat but sure.
@@jeffcraighenry so you're saying that the priest is another one of the alters? Lmao
... it's Disney
I'm pretty sure Khonshu chose Marc so that he could have access to Jake. I also think Khonshu is helping to hide Jake from the others.
Maybe not necessarily for Jake. But def because he's so broken and 1 of the 3 personalities is likely to accept
1st point is wrong lol, and 2nd point is so obvious lol
I think its definitely implied that Osiris is the one that allows them to go back to their body. Taweret calls Osiris I big softy so clearly he had some part in the gate opening.
Fo sho 👍🏼
Definitel
I'm surprised how much character development Jake has actually received, considering he legit only gets a minute of actual screen time. Its quite well done actually. *Bravo!*
Great comment! Totally agree. Great writing.
I'm glad they showed us this post credits scene, subtly saying "oh we ain't done with him just yet". Which I'm glad because this show deserves more seasons
show is canceled for sure
@@Puretea4711 your mom is canceled
@@Puretea4711 it's not. It was supposed to be a limited series, just one season and done. But Marvel changed the title of last episode from Series finale to Season finale. We'll have more Moon Knight.
I was so angry and disappointed with that ending....until the end credit scene!! So perfect! Also, Oscar Issacs is now one of my favorite actors!
SAME
Agree. I thought the final show was just getting almost stupid with the giant gods fighting. Then the post credit scene redeemed the episode. Overall thought I thought it got a little out of hand.
Yeah, I was pretty disappointed in the finale overall but really enjoyed the post credit scene as well.
how come?
Yeah. I felt like this episode was rushed, and as a result, felt anticlimactic. And I think it is because they had so many ends to tie in this one episode that was just as long as the others. The ending episode is usually longer.
So I was happy with this show up until the last episode. I didn't hate it, but I didn't care much for it, either.
The biggest trauma in Marc's life was his mom's spiteful relation with him as she holds him responsible for her second son's death, that's the exact reason why Marc was never able to confess about her father to her. Fearing the change in the way the person who he loves the most may perceive him.
Don't forget that the "birth" of Lockley is referenced when we see the "birth" of Steven. 7:12 in your own video we see the poster that created Steven but also a relection of a taxi to the left. Both souls were created at the same time but the dark side of Lockley hadn't been established yet. Lockley at his "birth" wasn't corrupted yet as as a child Marc was still pure and good. It took time for Lockely to be fed with the violence and negativity.
They say Jake was around for the abuse, Steven remembers their mom as nice but we don’t see what happens during the scene where the mom beats them bc Marc told Steven let’s go. We also don’t know how Marc mom actually dies
I believe Layla's costume had tones of red on the sides, white shirt, and the "armor" was gold looking to me.
I saw white cloth gold plates red highlights and a scarlet scarb
@@ked49 it’s white red and gold nothing more nothing less
The wings look rose gold.
If it’s not a fish for comments and he is genuinely colour blind then damm, Ryan seeing an Emerald Scarab
Scarabs backs have a bit of a color changing effect like a prism does, so all of you can be right about the colors.
The moment when Harrow said he lets his dog chew on pens was the moment I knew he was a true villain... Hawke did an incredible job being a loving/conflicted/evil villain though. Absolutely knocked it out of the park!
He never said that. He said "to me, it's a writing utensil, to my dog, it's a chew toy" but everything to @ dog is a chew toy so, doesn't mean he literally lets his dog chew on it, also I saw no bite marks. It was a simple analogy. Either way, all good. Just glad to see more people enjoying my fav new show with me 😉
@@The_Infamous_Boogyman twas a joke....

“Our love is a story that never ends” could also be a reference to Konshu as well - as in Konshu and Marc/Steven/Jake will always be together
The series finale was absolutely fantastic! It was pretty amazing how They were able to wrap everything up and by setting up Jake Lockley as the main personality for the time being. It’s going to be really cool to see where Moon Knight appears next and how he’s going to fit into the MCU as everything moves forward. I wouldn’t be surprised if they took some visual cues from the character Shadow Knight, whenever Jake Lockley summons the quote unquote
“The Suit!” I’m just hoping Moon Knight plays a large role in whatever movie or show he happens to pop up in next.
In the end credits, they show Marc's and Steven's suits (Moon Knight then Mr. Knight, respectively), but right before Marc's is shown there looks to be a third suit that's just mummy wrappings. I wonder if this is what Jake's suit might be -- just full on mummy. That'd be really cool.
thats what i think as well. theyve already shown the 3 versions
Time stamp?
Shadow Knight!
@@ethankeating1644 I think 37:27, lasts for some seconds though so you can see it evolving a little bit. Darker, slightly scarier than the others
Are you sure its not just how the mask looks while coming together for Marc's version of the mask? Watching him suit up after he gets his powers back/1st time tome it looks like that of the credits.
I want a midnight sons movie/show where Jake’s moon knight goes crazy and The Punisher is just standing back like, “holy fuck” while Jake just rips people up
We can dream
And Ghost Rider turns, grins, and proclaims "that's my boy".
They showed what Jake’s mask looked like in the credits. I loved how he’s constantly in the show without actually being acknowledged
You also missed where Jake stepped in to talk to Harrow.
Notice where how he threw in that hard “Doc.” It was the same accent observed previously.
But that makes it weird as heck that Jake then only spoke Spanish in the post-credits scene.
I swear he did but cc says otherwise
@@britniemichel2585 and you know what I think it is? He mentioned it in the previous episode! That’s how I knew to look for it here. ☺️
he could be bilingual
yeah I don't think it was Jake because when he was threatening harrow with the glass pyramid, and the attendants came to restrain him, he was shouting, 'you're gonna release the monster he's gonna destroy everything' I'm pretty sure he was talking about Jake
The episode got better with Layla as Taweret's avatar. And the post credit scene was great.
I felt the reverse. They forced a new character that doesn’t exist just to tick a couple boxes. Felt strange to me.
They definitely only gave Layla powers to pass a quota for their interests. She already was interesting and a good character to me. There really was no point in giving her powers.
@@jordteps1775 how the fuck ws she going to help then? She would of died instantly trying to take on harrow
I’m agreeing with the others here. Didn’t like that. Feel like it changes the dynamic between her and Moon Knight unnecessarily. I feel like they were good counterbalances for each other. Marc/Steven are superheroes, but they’re mentally ill and conflicted, while Layla is an ordinary girl, but is precisely the light for Marc/Steven for that reason. Her being a superhero just changes that dynamic which I really liked, if that makes sense.
@@Weakest_Bulgarian lmfao I mean she didn’t need to help him. They wrote that in.
I would love if Jake’s suit is the classic faceless suit.
You see the third face/mask in the outro credits. Its fast, but its there.
That could work, but for some reason I'm imagining the armored up with Gold symbols version for this Jake in a Limo.
In the end credits you see broken bands around a faceless silhouette, then it morphs into moon night and later into Mr Night. Time stamp 37:26
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.
The classic suit looks evil compared to the show's suit, and would fit perfectly with Jake's portrayal.
“You are my way of life, I’ll never let you go”. That was the exact words of the song playing during the end credit scene. Some pointed out that Konshu said he would let the 2 of them go. I didn’t notice that distinction but it would make such sense. He is manipulative and agreed but knew he would still have a hold because of Jake. I have to go back and watch that scene again. It was difficult to concentrate with my grandsons yelling.
Grandsons?
Can't wait for season 2. Oscar Isaac blew this role out of the water. His talent and ability to sometimes seamlessly transition between two completely different characters (accents, mannerisms) was just incredible.
Wish they showed the Jake Lockley fight. At least in the finale to show just how awesome he is. Like it's not supposed to be a kids show. It's moon knight. Just make it how the netflix shows are you have to have special access to watch and just make it more violent. That would be ideal.
i think they are going to show it as flashbacks
@@ghassen_xd78 the series is over
@@Rynoblock first time watching marvel?
bruh disney already has the age registration, they didnt hide it because of the violence, they hidden it so you get curious
@@Rynoblock the series can resume. The character can return. They had an artistic reason for hiding jake. It was fine & if we never see it we’ll just make it cooler in our heads.
I liked Layla's armor but I thought it would have fit more if she was Isis' avatar. I thought since she was tawaret's, it would have more hippo inspiration or at least similar colors to tawaret's outfit
I sorta agree, but i realize moon knight costume doesn't resemble konshu or a dead bird
I didnt like that they didnt give her some kind of head gear or mask sigh
Tawarets outfit is literally all gold….it won’t be a hippo inspiration either bc Moon Knight isn’t a bird theme
i think we all know why marvel didn't make her isis' avatar, that goddess' name has become problematic for most normie movie audiences who might not know about anicnet egyptian mythology
@@IceCold_Carter it does definitely have some aspects of bird design, though, like the pointed/beaked hood, and the wrappings are reminiscent of Khonshu’s own form. The fit just didn’t seem to match the god it was related to with Tawaret
I loved the season finale, but some scenes seemed a bit fast, there was no breathing space, and the last episode in general felt really tightly edited. I feel like they have way more scenes of that final episode but cut it short by large amount.. overall the chemistry between Steven and Marc was amazing and Moonknight is my favorite marvel show so far
So far it went down as I expected and mid-credit scene gave me final joy and confirmation that MK has a way to return.
Also I got a feeling that Khonshu actually would tell Marc & Steven he’s letting them free only bc he already had deal with Jake. And he also confirmed my suspicions about him actually not wanting Layla as his next avatar bc he already had it perfectly set up with Marc. He already knew about Jake and that explained me all about it.
Still episode felt super short compared to previous ones but also my expectations were satisfied in a way I imagined and that made me happy.
I predicted Marc will go after Steven and I was hoping that’s the case in the show which it was and made me happy that they got reunited.
Also the fact they both accepted each other made me super happy.
I’m still hoping for continuation at some point in future. And I once was this excited for IM & Avengers (before they made Tony’s departure real and full of tears) so this silent promise is what will keep me.
Sure I was excited for Hawkeye & Loki but this one hit different on so many levels there’s only one other thing (show) outside MCU I’m hopeful about for so long (a show that portrays mental illness so well that it makes my heart sing but was canceled year ago after two seasons)
And I’m all about mental illnesses being shown the best way possible as so many people needs that.
MK inspired me in new ways so now I’m off to DID research.
This episode had so many awesome moments. Marc and Steven flawlessly switching while fighting, Layla's conversation with Taweret and her amazing costume, and of course Jake! My favourite MCU show so far!
I Hope If They Pick Up A S2, Jake Reveals Himself And We Get To See All His Fights From This Season
Regardless of a show or movie Moon Knight is here to stay!
I can’t believe this episode was only 40 minutes! It felt like an hour long! My favorite part had to be Layla’s new costume, and I really hope it’s not a one-off thing
I knew this was going to happen, the conclusion on this shows is always too quick they take too much building for a quick ending and that's just anticlimactic. They did it in falcon and the winter soldier and Hawkeye.
I absolutely loved this series FROM JUMP. Easily Marvel's best Disney+ show because it was different, the most consistent (imo), and how spread out the surprises were throughout the series. Though not a perfect ending, it's still easily the most fulfilling finale episode in a Marvel Disney+ series. All in all, I want MORE MOON KNIGHT.
Yes I need more seasons
Only problem in ep6 is with other Gods who couldn't do jack shit against Ammit. While Konshu is fighting his ass off
The Other Gods swore off interference - khonshu was the only one who fought.
It was kinda lame how they didn’t put up a fight but then again they did say that they’re not like Khonsu with his weapons and stuff implying that they aren’t combat ready… I mean, what’s the goddess of love gonna do? haha
They're not there. Konshu and Ammit are, but the others are only possessing avatars on earth, while they live in the overvoid.
the gods left humans millennia ago. they aren't around. they exist only through their avatars. truth be told, they don't give a damn about khonshu or humans.
I know Konshu's outfit in the limo is from the comic run, but part of me wonders if a bit of Steven's Mr. Knight's aesthetic rubbed off on him.
If you watch the end credits VERY carefully, you can see they show Jake's version of the moon-knight costume, or at least the head. It's fast, and it's right before it flashes into Mark's costume, but it's distinctly different. Harder-edged, slightly different design.
didn't check but nice
He's the only one of the three to wear black. Hopefully he gets the black suit
the post credit scene or just the credits?
oh yes!!!
@@combatant224 Just before the post credit scene, at 37:24. (ignore the RUclips timestamp, that's the time in the show)
I assume there was one fish with one fin in the beginning because Steven wasn't aware of Marc. In the end, we see two fishes with 1 fin each because it shows the union of Marc and Steven. The acknowledgement of second personality is implied like the fish "splitting", in the fact that there's two fish, but they have 2 fins in total, implying how Steve and Marc complete each other.
When Marc's mom begins beating him in the flashback, Marc pulls Steven away telling him he's not supposed to see that. To me that implies Jake is left to take the beating.
Not much was said about Layla, but I would love to see what happens with her. Does she go back to her normal life, or become a permanent avatar?
Oh, and what about the other gods bound to stone.
That makes sense seeing as in the comics Jake told Marc that he (Jake) got grimy leftovers
The post-credit scene was amazing
Loved the series and finale. I did think it was a little hokey that he came back to life through the power of friendship rather than the healing powers of his suit. I also had to laugh when the other gods/avatars had a surprised Pikachu reaction to what Harrow was doing when they had his entire plan laid out to them by Marc/Khonshu.
I think it was implied that Osiris let them live because Tawaret calls him a softie as she’s helping them reach the doors
You're right about that. The only "hope" I had after Konshu's failed trial was that the other gods were somehow aligned with Ammit. Instead, they weren't aware of Harrow's "mission" even when the facts were right in front of their noses. My only conclusion is that Konshu is considered a clown among gods, and that's why they never took his testimony seriously
It was Osiris that saved them, after his avatar was killed he most likely realized Konshu was right about Harrow so he let Marc & Steven escape the underworld
@@WigantX the other gods were such a fucking waste of time. So disappointed. All off-screen deaths? None of them turned into animals? They WERENT on Ammits side? Wtf?
@@cameronschmit6472 they aren't on earth, they are in some pocket dimension somewhere so they don't really have any power. they don't really care about humans. only ammit and khonshu stayed behind on earth.
Layla's costume is Gold and Creme/White, to me.
Honestly, it's strange.
It's supposed to be Taweret's, but it's got wings, scarabs, I'm confused.
Next season i hope we get to see more of Marc and Steven coexisting, it was fun watching them share the body.
I have to say this series did a great job of expanding the story potentials of the MCU and Disney+ shows. It dove into a misunderstood part of human psychology, it dove into Egyptian mythology, and all while trying to hide the most violent things with Jake for a surprise to people who don't know Moon Knight lore. I hope season 2 can expand on Jake and the disconnect between him, Mark, and Steven. It would also be a cool way to lead into Blade or other Midnight Son crossover, and it will be interesting to see if there is any more personalities that are still hidden too or if Jake is just rich like Steven is normally in the comics. Also stoked to see a more international New Avengers building, can't wait to see what Kevin Feige has up his sleeves next.
This series helps lead into Thor by introducing other God's into the MCU, brings in another magic franchise before Doctor Strange 2, had a nod to Kang in an Easter egg, and could also be a way to introduce the comics when the Avengers go back in time to fight Kang in ancient Egypt and get Khonshu to tell Moon Knight in today's time they need help in the past.
Honestly I'm stoked the MCU has expanded this way onto Disney+, a lot of people will watch most of what comes out on it because it's Marvel and Star Wars. I just pray they keep fanboys and fangirls in charge so the comic stories aren't completely destroyed by Hollywood, those 3 sequel Star Wars explain the reason when compared to George Lucas' approved books about a clone of Obi Wan and Luke fighting a bunch of emperor clones along with all the other parts of those stories...
Great episode ❤️🔥
Seeing Steven finally fighting was badass
Layla was looking FOINE in that suit
AMMIT looked amazing the cgi budget definitely went Into her pocket lol
And Jake was looking smoooth
Actually shouted "Go Steven" when he launched into the fight 😂😊
“On a more tangible level, it’s your mom.”
Lol, got us again you bastard
I still think Layla kept Tawaret so that she would have means of communication with her father.
I was hoping they would've shown the Jake Lockley fight also. It's the finale, why hold back? Plus I also wanted to see his suit. Like what would Jake wear as Moon Knight?
cliffhanger for season 2
@@santiagog.a6142 I hope so
i guess they want to hold that off for the potential season 2 or maybe a movie
@@sardarzohair6300 Exactly my thoughts
I believe Jake's suit would be the black and white suit in the comics with the suit looking like an advanced military armor and his own weapons could be swords axes and spiked brass knuckles
I think focusing on the Marc/Steven dynamic was a smart move, now that we know that this is a SEASON finale rather than a standalone mini-series. Now with their introductions out of the way, Season 2 can spend more time expanding on Jake. Marc choosing to spare Harrow and Ammit was him finally establishing that he will no longer kill on command. Marc's a soldier, so the concept of killing them being part of a bigger picture wouldn't matter to him. He just wanted his life back.
Tawaret talking to layla like they are a couple of girlfriends getting mani pedis imao was hilarious, and adorable.
That end credit scene was crazy!! I love it! They hinted at Jake again when Marc was near death then fully revealed him in the end credits. Perfect execution and continuation of the character
I’ve been waiting all day for this. I saw the finale 6 hours ago and I haven’t been able to stop smiling!
Quick thought: After the big fight, when the scene returns to the hospital, Steven and "The Doctor" are in conversation. But then Steven's character switches with what I believe is Jake, not Mark. The Brooklyn accent is the giveaway. Not sure it's a big thing but seems weird how Jake and Steven were switching during the conversation.
The captions refer to him as mark during that scene. I was thinking the same thing until i noticed the captions.
@@noahparker6075 same
That was a Chicago accent. Flatter vowels.
@@noahparker6075 In prior episodes I believe when Jake was speaking, the captions would never say it was Jake it would always just say Mark.
Yeah Mark doesnt say Doc
Layla getting a " that make you the scarlet scarab" moment is pretty high on my bucket list. Iam itching for a spinoff.
Notice the montage where Marc/Steven is resurrected, Khonsu's voice narrates if he choose death which is shown with him trying to kill himself at his steps, or if he chooses life which is shown by his moment with Layla on the boat.
I was honestly expecting Layla to walk up to Marc/Steven at the end when they woke up in their apartment. Perhaps with a cup of coffee in hand, seeing Marc/Steven in bed or helping them up after they tripped from the restrains. But hey, it was perfect nonetheless.
Her costume was phenomenal! I was absolutely blown away. I thought it was going to be some goofy hippo costume. I think it’s by far one of the best costumes in the entire MCU.
I just have to say, both Disney & Marvel blew my mind with how true to the comic this was, especially not skimping out on the violance! Clever little gimmick, having it off camera, but he still rips through goons..
A very interesting detail is that now marc ,and Steven no longer have that transition effect when they pass their bodies between them, as a sign that they are not in sync.
I loved that Jake kicks the wheelchair after throwing Harrow into the limo.🤣🤣🤣🤣
I LOVED THE ENTIRE SHOW
The post credit scene was so GOOOOOODDD
Something I've noticed also is that his 3 personalities represent the drama triangle in psychology which is the Hero (Rescuer), Villain (Persecutor) and Victim triangle. Really clever series, I love it.
That observation about Freud and the Moon Knight Alters is a home run. Well spotted.
Got chills hearing again Marc's mom screaming at him. Gosh, excellent performance by that actress
I really enjoyed this series. My one question is how can the hearts balance when there was a third identity secret from them both? Shouldn’t it still be out of balance?
yes it is also my doubt
@@orange-utan oh ok bro thanks🙌
@@hrithwikparesh8278 could’ve also been because jake was still in the sarcophagus so maybe his soul wasn’t being weighed just marc and steven a since he was let out of his sarcophagus
My theory is that since Marc’s brother is dead, Jake could take on the persona Shadow Knight because of his dark, violent and unhinged personality.
"Your mom" joke was soooo subtle this time I wasn't expecting it. 11/10, would recommend.
The "your mom" part had me in tears 😂😂
I would've liked to see Anubis come in to help, take back the scales he had stolen from him.
I needed more kajiu fights!!
more kaiju fights!!
Ryan, thank you for your analyses and breakdowns over this series run. It was really cool seeing your observations, confirming fan theories, and celebrating all of the references and near details. If we had to choose between getting Mephisto or Jake, it was worth it for that post-credits and the hints seeded throughout.
These videos are so well done, Ryan, Thanks for the time and effort is goes into them!
I would love to see gor encounter marc/ Steven, and that be how they realize that konshu is still attached to them though jake especially since we don't know if we ll get anymore solo mk projects.
I loved how they left things open for the "none of this is real" interpretation to still ring true. When Marc and Steven are talking to Dr Harrow, Steven says "While it's tempting to accept your diagnosis, I'd rather save the world." Implying the potential that he rejects the reality of being in an asylum in favour of the fantasy of being a superhero.
The world being all fantasy explains why there are two Gusses as well.
Matrixeption!
Great episode! - loved how the fight started with Sagat’s Tiger Knee 😂
Good job with this series as always mate. You and the puppy are the best!
I feel the writers overlooked a simple premise. Moon Knight was always about getting vengeance for innocent ppl. Harrow and Amit just caused the death of hundreds of innocent ppl and upon sealing her, she promised that if she got free she’d do it again. Marc not killing Harrow goes against his entire MO. Had Harrow never harmed anyone since Konshu employ and Amit had failed every time she tried to pre judge then Layla and Marc’s point makes more sense.
It shows Jake Lockleys suit in the end credit before He kills Harrow, where it shows Marks and Stevens suit.
Amazing ep! So much lore to absorb and seeing the gods in battle was epic!
I liked how Steven and Marc switched in and out at the end especially in the Doctors office
What did you think of the finale?
I was pretty impressed by the battle scenes CGI was top tier
That it made all the asylum scenes a complete waste of time.
With the end credit scene me and my best friend went insane because we thought jake would show up
@@mikeisveryweird6093 jake did show up
I just didn’t get this episode. Episode 5 either. I can’t make anything of it. Hard to follow whose dream it is or who died… just don’t get it. It felt like a cliffhanger but I’ve lost interest in the characters because it could all just be a dream… or something. No idea.
New mic or post recording voice? You sound very different to me in this one. Think I'm starting to lose it 🤣 loved this season and great work as always!
I thought the same thing and thought I must be tripping lol
Well done. Your interpretation of Marc's illusory freedom is particularly on point.
12:34 2😆🤣😂 Got Em!!
Usually see that joke coming, Actually got me off guard that time 😆🤣
First while I am mostly a cat person we need more Doug, the interactions are super cute.
That said as always an excellent breakdown. Overall a solid 8/10 show. The respect they showed mental illness was wonderful to see. Could have made it a punchline and they didn't, so kudos to all involved.
My only question is if I was Layla, why not break ALL the little figurines and release all the gods? You'd have to image more then just Khonshu would fight out of the 8 or 10 others. Couldn't hurt at that point.
I mean, they where imprisoned for a reason, khonshu was imprisoned unjustly, because harrow lied to the other gods, but I’d assume the rest were justifiably imprisoned like Ammit.
@@joshuamartin3232 Sure that's possible. Or maybe some of them were unjustly locked away too? I think for a S2 that may be worth exploring or at the very least addressing.
I think in the middle of the mid credit sceen we see a version of Jake's moon knight suit. Because there is a resemblance of a suit right before ot morphs onto marks and Steven's. Also, really wish we could have seen Jake take over in the last fight. The show leaves me feeling a type of way without seeing the fight
I saw the third suit, too. I think it was cool, with the face all dark and the hooded mummy aspect.
Nobody beats Ryan Arey and ScreenCrush at their breakdowns of comic book related content. Love your work! Keep up the stellar content! ❤
Hands down my favorite moment of the show was just before 9:10 when Steven does the jacket fix and the shoulder wipe to arms cocked and ready to fight, then just gets tossed.
Incredible show, armazing finale. Moon Knight was the best show for me. Leaving Loki a side for his role in the macro of the MCU.
Am I crazy or at the end credits you actually see all 3 costumes for moon knight? The first one is Jake's and rapidly changes to Marc's and finalizing it with Steven's.
Your videos are amazing man. I watched every Moon knight episodes and came to check out your videos. Thank you for the good work ❤️
Another superb series of videos. Always my go-to channel for this kind of thing. Looking forward to your Obi-Wan coverage!
The discussion of CHOICE in this video is so interesting given the news this week about ROE V WADE. Khonshu is Pro-Choice. Ammit is not.
I do not see the correlation at all lol
1. Don't bring in real life politics into this. This is a free space for everyone to enjoy.
2. Second Ammit is the one deciding to kill people's lives before they get the chance to experience life fully. Without the person whom is being killed their consent or opinions on the matter and only for Ammit personal satisfaction.
Khonshu is the one who believes innocent lives shouldn't be taken like a child for example. Like Steven said he not down for child murderer.
@@ethankeating1644 I don't like people who think like this. It is crazy.
There is no choice.
@@mikedroz2301 Getting rid Roe v. Wade just means the states can decide or CHOOSE what they want to do with abortion.
The pro choice people are against it being over turn even though they clam they are all about choice but don't want the states to have the choice on the matter. So they are all Hippocrates or dummies who don't know the law.
I loved Moon Knight. It's an incredible series. However, I have to say that I loved all the episodes except for the last. The last episode felt...rushed. like they had so many ends to tie that they had to hasten through it, and that, to me, made the last episodes suffer. And there were scenarios in this last episode that just seems anticlimactic. As a matter of fact, get that feel of it being pretty anticlimactic because this last episode felt rushed.
The whole god fight and the fight against harrow(except for where they included jake) were quite disappointing
Hope you feel better Ryan
It was nearly perfect! I just wished we got more Jake, but at the same time I LOVE the post credit reveal.
I feel like we’ve already seen Jake’s suit in the end credits, when they show Marc’s and Steven’s suit, before them you see a more mummified looking suit, I think that’s what Jake’s suit looks like
Much like the “ritual” of the water and glass first scene of the show being the beginning. I took the blood from the shoes and the tipping of the coffee as the end. The coffee being spilt symbolized that the sacrifice was wasted in their loss. Just how I read the scene.
Great breakdown :)
Great breakdown. I need more Moon Knight!!!
1- I kinda thought Harrow going for the cup at the end kinda mirrors the glass ritual way back in Ep1….. but massively flawed as he lost & is trapped
2- You got me with that “that your mum” joke cos I thought Doug had already done it 😅 well played
3- the Ep felt a lot smaller for the FINAL…. Like Marc about to be defeated but the Jake takes over (which you don’t see) and BAM, they win! But with the end credit scene…. I’m actual fine with it. Other MARVEL shows have tried to do to much, Moon Knight nearly did too little, but it’s kept some mystery to move forward into a second series or what ever is next for Moon Knight.
4- if Layla became the Avatar of Taweret… why does she have have a Scarab motif & bird wings? LOVED the look, but it didn’t seem to make sense. Though, TEALLY happy about the EgyptianSuperhero 🤩😍
This show leaves enough clues to suggest this entire story is ALL in Marc's mind, as he is trapped by the mother who hated him (Ammit). His father, who seems supportive, will not sacrifice the family for him, and leave the mother. Konshu could represent a 'father' who will sacrifice the 'mother' (Ammit). Jake is just another alter for him when his fantasy begins to spiral. For instance, when Harrow says 'you're the only weed that needed to be plucked" - that's Marc's mind becoming overwhelmed by the damage his mother caused - then Jake pops out. We never see this, because Marc can't see it - it is all simply a coping mechanism.
I wish but I think you're giving them too much credit.
This was too brilliant!!!
