All the casting looks fantastic, and I especially want to shout out Ivica "Dragonrage", I know he doesn't care for the stache but he ABSOLUTELY looks like hes straight out of the 60's in the best way possible. Hopefully he sticks with it!
Its funny that flea markets in croatia look pretty similar to the ones in the unites states. Some of the rare ones on the east coast are at old drive-inn theaters
Love your work! So excited to see this!! I know I’m a few days late, your work, the banter, the shooting is still some of my favourite ever!! Good work! ❤
Great insight guys! Would love to know more about financing towards the end of the production diaries if that is ok with you guys! Learning how budget, how much budget per department, how much to put in yourself/find producers and how ways or recuperating the costs would be really useful as most people skip this topic due to its taboo nature! :)
We did talk a little bit about budget in the first introduction video, you can look it up on the channel. But, yes, we had the idea of doing a more detailed breakdown at the end of the series. But *spoiler alert* - there was no recuperating the costs, haha. This was a passion project and we knew there was no way to earn money on it.
@@sliceoflifefilm I watch all your videos :). I saw that one but yeah that's what I meant, end of the series total lookback at final costs and how they were divided. Also 10x respect for knowing there is no way of recuperating costs and still spending so much to fuel a passion project! Looking forward to the series!
Alan is really phenomenal in that role. Great versatility and range. I think that's the first we've heard Mrs. H on camera. I didn't recognize Dragonrage! This is a great bts video, guys
Awesome episode! The passport though... seems like one of those "You had one job!!" situations :D Good to hear that it all worked out, they all seem perfect for the roles!
It wasn't his fault, really. We picked him only a few weeks before the filming and he applied pretty soon after that. You know how it is, as much as you plan, you always end up doing everything at the last minute, haha...
The little statue of a boy pissing at 9:10 might be a reproduction of the famous statue located in Brussels (Belgium). This statue is one of our national symbols, I kid you not. In dutch it is called 'manneke pis' which means 'little pissing man'...
OH WAIT!!! You just reminded me that some years ago we visited Brussels, and we actually saw the "Manneke Pis" statue. It's pretty close to the main square. I remember reading about the boy on the plaque in front of it. I just read the Wikipedia article to freshen my memory. Very intertesting, it originates all the way from 15th century and has been stolen numerous times. Cool story. As you said, our peeing boy prop actually might be based on Manneke Pis! I never connected the dots until now. Tnx for the info! :)
Just beautiful. Love how thorough you are with everything! That passport thing is a nightmare for any filmmaker. One of your actors cannot make it to shoot. Pure nightmare inducing stuff. Glad he could make it.
How can you tell that someone stinks from a show reel? Don't you need to get close enough to smell them? (a few moments later) Aah ok...that's what stink looks like... ps When you done with the "Peeing Boy" and Matt Simpson (not necessarily in that order) send them both up this end😊😉. Well done boys... and Luca's wife.
this is the best one yet! I liked this one the most, for now! Except those radical pee net prototype designs... those are utter shit! everything else is great!
well you should have! it is a professional thing to do, and part of the work ethic protocol! you should not sacrifice the quality of the production for some crap ass concept artist wannabe jerk! remember for the next time! looking forward to the next video diary!
@@ZetaPrime77 I know what I am talking about!!! and I have watched probably over 10 different behind the scenes compilations from various films by now! It pains me to see that someone, even mediocre filmmakers like Luka and Dino (although they have come a long way for sure) , spoil their efforts with employing bad concept designers... it is just not how this works...
You guys are the pinnacle of great filmmakers! Thanks guys!
Thanks for the compliment! ;)
The part with the actor almost not getting his passport hit me hard! That could have been one of my experiences...
Haha, yes. Filmmakers' worst nightmare!

YES! he should leave the stache!
I really crazy about these guys shooting style. they alway prove about 'the old is gold'.
I hope your project will be successful this time too!
Thanks a lot!! Old is gold!!! Great line :D
My favorite Croatian film makers are back at it again! Awesome video, homies
Thanks a lot dude! 😍
Very well cast. Love the look of those guys faces. Amazing performances as well. Top notch!

Dragon Rage!!!!
Oh cooL! didn't know drive-in theaters were turned into flee markets! Makes sense I guess!
Man what a big scale for small Team🙈 awesome once again! 🎉
Having a bigger team is the only way to do it faster! :D
Love your work!
So excited to see this!!

Yooooo Brad! Glad to see you back here!! Lets have a beer on the next video!
you guys are brilliant.. Love your film making.
Awesome stuff. Shows there are newcomers out there in acting to be discovered.
Oh definitely!!!

Just love your BTS-videos and its so fun to follow the process. Been here since Slice Of Life and will continue to support and watch :)
Thank you so much!! Glad to have you here! ;)
Very good video❤
What program did you use to create the 3d background loop?
Just After Effects. I positioned the elements in 3d space. Today I would probably do it in Blender, but I wasn't that familiar with it back then.
Just beautiful. Love how thorough you are with everything! That passport thing is a nightmare for any filmmaker. One of your actors cannot make it to shoot. Pure nightmare inducing stuff. Glad he could make it.
Yea, it was tight for sure! We had a lot of luck! :) tnx
These BTS videos are so entertaining. When do you think the film will premiere?
Thank you! We can't tell when the film will premiere, unfortunately. The festival run is just starting so it won't be anytime soon.
