The Dragonball Super TCG is a fun game, but like all other games there are pros and cons. Just so you have an idea of where I'm coming from, I used to play it competitively. First, you should know that the card arts are amazing. Bandai spared no expense in making the cards VERY pretty, and you'll especially notice it with some of the higher rarity cards, with the highest rarity being the Secret Rares (you'll see the SEC on the card rarity). If you are lucky enough to pull an SEC, you will be holding pure gold in your hand; the SEC cards are valuable, hard to pull, and generally hold their value very well. Next, the game is fun and you can play with any Dragonball character you can think of including the non-canon ones as well.
Unfortunately there are a lot of cons to the game, which is what ultimately made me stop playing. Firstly, you'll probably have trouble finding a local community to play the game as it's nowhere near as popular as TCGs like YuGiOh or MTG. Then, power creep is obnoxious - too obnoxious for its own good. You will feel like all the cards you have were made obsolete by the next released set - even the aforementioned SEC cards.
IMO, the best ways to approach this game is either as a collector/investor, or casual player (if you have a nearby friend/family member to play with). In this way, you don't have to worry about having a ton of bulk cards that are worth dirt, and you can escape the toxic scene of competitive play and rules debating.
