    There is lots of exterior lights fuses to check on Ford Taurus. Most of the fuses will be located in a fuse box inside a passenger cabin under the steering wheel, and only few in a fuse box under the front hood:
    PASSENGER CABIN FUSES:
    FUSE #13: Front Right and Rear Right Turn Signal Lights Fuse (15A)
    FUSE #14: Front Left and Rear Left Turn Signal Lights Fuse (15A)
    FUSE #15: Stop / Brake Lights Fuse & Back Up / Reverse Lights Fuse (15A)
    FUSE #16: Front Right Low Beam Headlamp Fuse (10A)
    FUSE #17: Front Left Low Beam Headlamp Fuse (10A)
    FUSE #30: Front Parking Lights (15A)
    FUSE #34: Automatic High Beam Fuse (10A)
    FUSE #39: High Beams Headlamps (10A)
    FUSE #40: Rear Parking Lights (10A)
    ENGINE BAY FUSES:
    FUSE #57: Left HID Headlight - if equipped (20A)
    FUSE #78: Right HID Headlight - if equipped (20A)

    Those passengers fuse box fuses are welded in. I thought the low beam headlight fuses were there so I got a "fuse puller" to replace them and it doesn't do a bit of good.

    I hope this isnt a stupid question...but which fuse goes to the rear brake lights?

      There is no stupid questions :). It should be Fuse #15

    which one is for the license plate lights? Thanks

      There is no separate fuse for the license plate lights so I'm not sure on which circuit those would be without looking at the complete diagram and schematics. But probably together with parking lights fuse #30.

      Try checking Fuse 12 and Fuse 4 in a fuse box under the steering wheel

    I have a 2017 taurus limited but its not equipped with hids , this cars have really poor night visibility due to that

      I know, visibility is terrible in the night. One of the worst cars to drive in the night
