    Tack så mycket för denna video, den gav mig bra ide'er till min Meec-hyvel som är i princip samma som du har. Jonas.

    I loved it when you bursted out laughing cause the fence was spot on 90 degrees. Amazing improvement.

      Thank you :-) I was not expecting it to be perfect after the first adjustment.

    Great build, looks so much better than the original 👍

      Thank you! The original fence is utterly useless, so this is a mandatory upgrade for this kind of planer. Cheers and thanks for watching and commenting.

    Hi guys!
    Here is a link for the 6mm CMT Grooving Blade:

    Hope you like the video :D

      That grooving blade is terrific, it's definitely on my list. I might not get it from Amazon though - both those links are saying 'not currently available'. It can be found at other sellers with just a quick search with your favourite engine...

      I saw (pun intended) that the 5mm version was available. But it is a great blade where ever you get it from ;-) Thanks for checking in, mate :-D

    Hærlig å se en trearbeider som ikke er "verktøyhipster" med hele katalogen til Festool! Det får oss vanlige dødelige til å tro at man kan få til noe med enkle verktøy 👍

    Hey man. I have one of these but it's the Titan model from ScrewFix.. I bought it about a year ago but only used it a few times to date. My workshop is a mess atm. I am trying tov sort it out now.
    Could u tell me how good or bad this Titan Track Saw is?? I was told it was ok but most of these cheaper saws don't cut very well on the 45 cut.. Is there any real flex when making 45 DEG cuts mate?? I want to get a Track saw but I'm not paying out ridiculous prices they're charging for them..
    I had a major issue with my fence on my Titan planer/thicknesser too. I think I'm going to attempt to change mine as well..

      Hi!
      I have the Titan Track Saw. But really haven’t tried too many miter cuts with it, so I cannot really say. Peter Millard @10minute workshop had done a lot on those saws and he reccomends them. Perhaps check out some of his stuff?
      Cheers and thanks for watching and commenting.

      @@NomadMakes Yeah I saw his video my bro.. Thanks for replying to my comment. I'm in the middle of fixing up my Titan planer/thicknesser atm. The Fence is useless. I have to change it soon. I'm also building my own Table saw as well. I had originally bought the Titan table Saw but it was bad. The table was really uneven. The motor is a hard start motor. It's not belt driven which makes it very loud but I'm going to repurpose parts from it and rebuild them into a new build with steel framing. It's takin some time bcos I'm new to welding as well. It ain't easy at all.. Thanks again bro. Keep up ur great work too btw..

    • @NomadMakes
      @NomadMakes  Год назад

      Yeah. That fence is utterly useless.
      I started building my own table saw, but ended up purchasing the Dewalt DWE7485. Before that I just had a cheap sircular saw screwed up side down into my bench. But that worked as well. If can at all swing it, I suggest getting the Dewalt table saw, unless you are more interrested in building the tool, than what you make with it. Which is cool as well. As long as you keep on making.

    Thoroughly enjoyed this video and your review of the machine itself, which I just bought a few days ago !! I entirely agree with your asessment of it by the way but I had very few options where I am. The fence is all but useless and I have already thoughts on how to improve it, so stumbling across your video was quite a coincidence. I have ideas for a totally different approach but I shall have a good think about what I think and what you have done before deciding which way to go. I am using the machine only as a planer as I have a Makita thicknesser already which I believe is a far better piece of kit.

      Hi Stephen! While there are other machines available where I am, very few of them will fit my 12m3 workshop. I am considering a 6 inch long bed planer, but this works for now. I have also considered making longer beds for this machine. We will see. For now I have some furniture to build :)
      Like you I also have a lunchbox thicknesser.
      It’s just a little sad. These machines are kind of a lost opportunity. With only a little effort, they could have been so much better. Anyways.
      Cheers and thanks for watching and commenting. Hope to see you back on the channel.

      @@NomadMakes - thanks for the reply and for sure I shall be following. I will do the Subscribe thing in a moment. I inherited some machinery from my Dad when he passed away and whilst I know it is far from being the best of anything, it is better than nothing, and I am keen to try. I have spent all my working life in very high precision engineering working in microns. The biggest hurdle I find is to stop thinking that everything needs to be at that kind of level of accuracy, so I can accept that at times a millimetre or two is not the absolute catastrophe it is in my work. I look forward to seeing more of your stuff and whilst the Shleppach purchase may not have been the best at least it brought me to your channel as that is what I was searching for.

      @@stephenedwards3397 Yeah... The struggle for perfection. I feel your pain.
      The wondeful thing about wood though, is that it moves. So it kind of makes fun of our quest for insane accuracy. I still strive for the best I can get from my mahcines and techniques/skill. And relative dimentioning is your best friend in woodworking :D

    Brilliant video. I have just purchased the Titan TTB579PLN which is basically the same. Do you have plans for this fence? Although your video is very thorough, I think plans with dimensions etc would be a great help. I shall try to replicate this fence when I get some free time! Thanks for the video.

      Thank you. I kind og winged this build. I had an idea of what I wanted, but had to figure out a lot as i went. So, I don’t really have any plans. And even though these machines the same with different colors, they come in different batches though. But if you have any questions, I’d gladly help. Cheers and thanks for watching and commenting.

    I own the same planer, branded Güde, and I'm making this. :) What make/model drill press is that, btw?

    • @NomadMakes
      @NomadMakes  2 года назад

      It is a «Capital» drill press. Basically the OEM brand of Moe & Co in Bergen as far as I can tell.

    Dead nuts? That's a completely new one to me! I like your 'offering up' philosophy - I had a pal years ago who lived by that one, he didn't even own a tape measure as he felt it just introduced an extra layer of inaccuracy. I guess there's argument for it. Anyway, this was a terrific build, very satisfying and lots of advantages to your design. And so good to see your gleeful reaction! Have you any plans for the safety guard? I've been thinking of improving mine for ages...

    • @NomadMakes
      @NomadMakes  3 года назад

      Hehe. I don’t know where I pick up these things :-D Regarding the blade guard, I will keep it. I heard Guy Dunlap talking about it and explaining how the European style guard is supposed to be used. The hands are supposed to «run over» the guard. And trying that out, I decided I liked that a lot.
      Again, cheers and thanks for looking in.
