    Thanks for sharing! I have the same jointer, but the issue I'm having is that when edge jointing, the stock comes out concave. I.e. there is less material in the middle of the stock so when I want to edge glue it there is a larger gat in the center. What can I do? I've adjusted the knives according to the manual (using the provided tool) but the problem remains.

    Thanks for sharing! Awesome fence. I have the exact same model, and also made a new fence, although it's not adjustable like your version, so I might copy a bit from your design ;) However, the thicknesser is also not parallell to the cutter head. Do you have the same problem? If not, do you have any ideas of how to fix it? I'm planning to make some kind of longer base, but it would have to be made completely parallell to the cutter head. Thanks :)

    • @MariusHornberger
      @MariusHornberger  9 лет назад +2

      houtjeboom No. Why should I raise the knives? And if so, the fence is out of wood, so no problem for the knives.

    This upgrade is just awesome! Gives me the feeling I might buy such a cheap model and upgrade it. On the other hand I might buy Metabo's combo machine (but it's quite expensive and heavy...)
    How does the thiknesser work? My friend has something similar to your model and he says it's not very exact (it's hard to adjust the desired thickness) and it sometimes moves a bit, so after planing a lot of wood the first and the last piece are no longer the same
    thanks for the great content, I really enjoy your videos (also due to your simple and clear naration) :)

    • @MariusHornberger
      @MariusHornberger  9 лет назад

      jakoball Well, that's the price you pay for a cheap machine like this. I didn't run into major problems with the thicknessing so far. If you can (enough money, space...) get the metabo.

    Really nice job there Marius. I only found this video on ur channel today and now I see it's 7 years old? Jesus H Christ man.. This thing has been around this long? Do u still have it mate?? If u do is it still working fine or did u throw it in the trash??
    I have one and found it to be ok. The only problem for me is that damn fence the put on it. I unfortunately was too stupid at the time of purchase and I also bought the TITAN TABLE SAW.. LUAO at me now everybody in this comment section. I don't trust it to cut anything bcos I feel like it'll take my fingers off with the board I'm attempting to cut.
    Anyways I've only owned both about 5/6 months or less. I think i WAS CRAZY AT THE TIME TO BUY THE tABLE SAW BUT i DIDN'T KNOW ANY BETTER AND IT WAS CHEAP WHICH SHOULDA TOLD ME MORE THAN i KNEW ..
    I'm going to replace the table top 2morrow. I have all the kit to replace it but it'll be plywood or MDF, 18mm. The only upside is the blade is 80mm height at 90 Degrees which I 'm willing to lose that with the New top for better safety and cleaner cuts with better mitre slots/tracks and a great Mitre Gauge from China.. One of those expensive one from Wnew or something with the clever locking on each angle.. IUt has a lovely Brass handle which sold it to me.. hahahahahahahahahahaha! I'm easily pleased as my woman tells me constantly. She tries to tell me sex once a week makes me happy but she has no clue that I pay for hookers every day after work.. Ugh! I wish she'd just give in and let me pump the life outa her every night. She'd be so much happier if she'd just allow me that little pleasure and I know she loves it too.. haha!
    I'm buzzin' of course.. She lets me pump her 2/3 times a week.. LMAO,, Ok this went a bit too far. Apologies for this weird shit bro. I love pumping my missus even if she is a frigid geebag. I drive her head through the headboard once a week..

    Hey Top!! Ich habe praktisch die baugleiche Chinamühle von Scheppach. Da ist der Anschlag zwar etwas stabiler, genügt allerdings trotzdem nicht meinen Ansprüchen. Ich wollte auch etwas ähnliches bauen! Bist du mit deiner Version jetzt komplett zufrieden oder sind dir im Betrieb noch Dinge aufgefallen die du ändern würdest? Ich habe mich bisher gescheut weil er dann nicht mehr kippbar ist, andererseits brauche ich das praktisch auch fast nie! Wie sind da deine Erfahrungen? LG Norb

    • @MariusHornberger
      @MariusHornberger  9 лет назад

      Naja, der Dickentisch ist etwas klapprig und zu kurz. Da werd ich wahrscheinlich auch nochmal was für machen. Zufrieden ist hier glaub ich relativ. Die Maschine tut das was man von ihr erwarten kann. Das einzig halbwegs störende ist die Oberfläche der Tische. Etwas "rillig" und deswegen gleitet das Holz nicht so super drüber. Die Kippfunktion war mir total egal. Lieber zuverlässige 90°, die man immer braucht, statt unzuverlässige 90-45°, die man so gut wie nie braucht und für die es auch andere einfache Methoden gibt.

    • @WilliamTGM
      @WilliamTGM 9 лет назад

      Ja da hast du schon recht, man muss ihn praktisch nie kippen! Es gibt extra Gleitmittel damit das Holz besser rutscht, viele verwenden wohl auch Wachs!

    It's a shame you lost one to two inches of table space, I'm surprised you allowed that.
    Time for a refit to get back what you have lost and maybe make it full length?. ;-)
    btw - I'm guessing a three bladed cutter is better then a two bladed cutter?
    Can you swap out a two for a three bladed cutter?

      I didn't loose table space. Still the full capacity. The cutterhead can't be changed.

      Looking where the original (flimsy) fence was versus the new one it looks like the new fence is taking up more table space (3/4" minimal?).
      From what you have said the face of the new fence is in the same place as the original. That's good. :-)
      I still would have made it full length. ;-)
