    Thank you so much for your referral list, Jeff. You referred us to Five Seasons Windows and Doors here in Denver. John (owner) was very easy to work with. They just installed the Anlin vinyl sliding glass door in our home and we love it. It was priced above the big box stores, but it is a higher quality product. My wife is so happy at how easy it glides on the rollers. The installation went smoothly. We had to wait around 3 months for the door to arrive from the Anlin factory in California. We appreciate the referral and will spread the word about Jeff's ljst.

    Mine come out to like $8,000 for hiring someone to change just 4 large and one small (for the restroom) If you have mechanical skills, you can do it yourself. The windows will still run a bit expensive, $400-$600 each. You just need to look at the way the material you take off from the old ones and replace that material when putting the new windows. The rest is just filling out gaps and new mouldings to cover them. I've done three of my windows so far (one at a time). They look great, you just need to take your time. I did a lot of leveling so when it rained the water will drain in the right direction and not keep any standing water. The thought to start taking the window down is scary, but once you start, it becomes clear.

    How good are the wincore 5400 windows single hung double thick glass double low e glass with argon. Also is it really worth putting argon in the windows I was told no and yes what's your opinion the ones that said no was because it leaks out really quickly.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  2 года назад +1

      I like WinCore products. They offer a solid, mid-grade product at a fair price. I'd ALWAYS suggest Argon. It only adds $20 +/- to a window and helps reduce sound transfer, condensation, and cold. Sure it will leak at about 1% per year. Argon has nothing to do with seal failures. That's a misconception.

Depending on your situation I think they are best installed as a full frame window vs an insert replacement especially double hungs (sill angles). SP is a great company. I prefer the Marvin ultimate hardware especially on double hungs. Better looking and more historic aesthetic.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts

      Installation is always an additional cost and can vary widely by what needs to be done. A third floor window will require a lot more work than a ground floor window. Stucco is more difficult than brick....

    Appreciate the pricing details. However confused a bit. Why would a million dollar 4 bed room house cost $150k for windows, but a 4 bedroom house that costs $300k only need $30k or less for windows? Assuming same house, same windows, same climate zone, just different markets? Yes I know there is different glazing and coating options, key for certain temperature areas, but asking just a general question? That was very confusing and sounds a bit suspect, (like window companies looking up costs of houses and making quotes based on that). Obviously California the rip-off capital of US will charge more, and Florida with hurricanes safety glass.
    But again, every thing same, shouldn't costs be same, and have NOTHING to do with cost of the house, but only the quantity of windows, quality of windows, and different local coatings needed ? Maybe clarify that next video if so, unless I am missing something.

    • @HoustonWindowExperts
      @HoustonWindowExperts  2 года назад +2

      Great question. Typically the more expensive a house is the more likely they are to have more windows due to having a large sf footprint, more windows per room, bigger windows, windows with "real" grids, wood interior, interior and exterior casing, paint work, and the existing windows are typically more difficult to remove.
      However, if ALL things are equal, so is the price.

    I just went with a local installation company in NJ and got 9 SH, 7 fixed, (5 of them with tempered glass) 1 slider, a 3-lite slider and a sliding patio door for 23k. Windows and door are Vanguard by Sunrise. I felt it was a fair deal for a quality product and far better than the 54k estimate I got by Renewal...lol.

    Enticing title to this video but there's little helpful information in it. For instance, are the prices he suggest installed cost, or just for the window itself? A few installed examples of windows on houses would have been nice.

    I'm a plasterer by trade 36 years retired now, and the company woked for tought me quite a bit of carpentry my neighbors around me some of them had new windows installed I installed mine myself and my windows look 10 times better than what they did because I replastered my house first because when they first plastered it they cheated and cut back around the windows to much so my windows have a nice wide flat trim where all my neighbors just a cheap z trim white where I went with a nice brown in color to match the stucco there's where over 10 grand mine was 2500 .

    I work for Champion Windows and have seen Home Depot charge $6300 for 3 DH, 1 PW tempered for $6300. Their windows retails for $350…😫😫😫

      The full service division of Home Depot is not the same as the products they sell in the store. It is considerably more expensive.

      How would you rate Champion Windows? I sell their Vinyl series.
      Usually with discounts they come to $1500-1700 per window.

      Unfortunately, I do not have any experience with champion except for the old products that are now being replaced due to poor construction. The new products may be terrific, I just don't know enough about it to give an opinion.

    What i've been finding is 20 windows and a door, folks are trying to get $35K-$40K. that's padding on the windows and crazy labor charges :) If my Katy house needs some windows, i'll be pinging you, but currently living in California.
