Water ingress! As a Defender owner I know about the pain of this phenomenon! As you appear to live in a permanent rain zone it is very important to tackle this problem as soon as you notice it, I try every trick to stop the water dripping on me, but as it only rains twice a year I tend to forget about it, until the next time I drive off and a waterfall runs down my leg, I really must try the hosepipe trick and find out where it gets in, the sealall stuff looks very good is it a silicone based product? Stay dry! Chris B.
Is your tailgate wrapped in black or did you buy it like that. If so then i'd like to know where you bought it.
yes its wrapped in black as it was cracked
Mines a victim too 2008 type s 💪
@@ammo1g try it, mines all dry now
Those roof strips should be taken off, the seam goes a few inches beyond where the strip ends, that part needs sealing as well.
I had water coming in through my rear indicators as well, a little fabric washer had worn away from the plastic trim clip that secures the indicator to the body.
The fuel cap is another danger area, and the connectors of the plastic trim that secures the top part of the rear bumper can let water in as well.
You really need to strip out the whole boot to eliminate any water ingress. I even had it coming through the boot body seams themselves, I had to tiger-seal the whole boot.
Like the Blade Runner music at the end 👍
@@bryanjordan4262 well done for noticing the Tears in the rain at the end, I was wondering if anyone would pick up on that! Great advice on those other areas to check
