Hi I was a Master Motor Mechanic ( Rolls Royce ) Mercedes, BMW, Porsche engine rebuilder and everything In between I like to congratulate this young man. His attention to his work is great and explaining his progress in repairing this vehicle to the viewers not familiar about this kinda of work well done. But again as I’ve been telling anyone who liked to listen regularly service your car more frequently change the oil & filter. Don’t be over revving your engine especially turbo engines, as the mechanic said let the turbo wind down after you come your destination just a minute before switching your engine off. I could talk about it all day long but again Congratulations to you for job well done I love watching this channel keep up the great work Cheers Paul.

Misdiagnosis of problems is massive in the auto repair industry! I had Vauxhall tell me my 1.3CDTI turbo was knackered at 50k miles with FSH, they quoted me £3000! The car was 1 month out of warantee. We had bought 3 new Vauxhalls in recent years but they would not offer any goodwill towards a repair. I took the car away and pulled it apart my myself, the actual problem was a stuck open EGR valve which I cleaned and refitted, boost restored and problem solved for nill expense!!
Tech's with your skills and knowledge are few and far between these days!! I did my auto aprenticeship back in the late 70's when everything was very simple, cars have changed an awfull lot since then, the model specific knowledge required nowadays is just off the scale. Well done!

@@UndertheJDM_Hood Yes, there was rust, but I’ve restored the chassis, and it’s garage-kept now after so many years. The power steering rack was rebuilt long ago, around 200,000 kilometers, because it was leaking. The gearbox was replaced with one from a D16Z6 Del Sol since the original had a whining sound and a third-gear grind. The motor had a head gasket failure at around 300,000 kilometers, so I replaced it and rebuilt the head with new valve seals and other components. Now it runs great, but the rust was the biggest issue. It was either scrap it or fix it, so I decided to repair it and repaint the whole car."

I have a pal who changed his 405 turbo diesel for a 307 HDi and he told me it was in for mechanical repairs more often than it was on the road. Many newer cars from many manufacturers are complete junk now. Too many sensors, plastic ancillary engine parts and exhaust emissions crap.

The timing alignment proves that some of the old DNA was passed down.

HyVo chains lubricated by the engine oil , gear driven cams and dry toothed belts are proven technology.

This engine fitted to one vehicle the mk10 civic. Honda have stood by their product and covered the majority of repairs on these engines outside of warranty regardless of shoddy service histories. Its worth noting that all the belts that I've done on these that have been serviced correctly there is zero belt debris in the gauzes.

I NOTICED YOU DIDN’T SHOW THE OIL FEED PIPE CLEAN OR REMOVAL, THIS IS A MAJOR MUST!!! THIS HAS A FILTER IN THE LOWER SECTION OF THE PIPE THAT BLOCKS WITH RUBBER AND KILLS THE TURBO.
    PLZ PLZ PLZ
Get that car back and get that filter checked. Otherwise turbo will go bye bye

We are back to the days where cars don’t last 100,000 miles anymore. The amount of carbon these late model engines have is what it was like in the pre PCV valve days when engines used a simple road draft tube to ventilate vapors from the engine. One of those things that worked in theory, but made more of a mess since the blow-by gases would react with the oil creating lots of sludge, ultimately led to oil starvation at 50,000 to 75,000 miles.
