That’s my club! Awesome channel - will def be following your journey. I’ve just started playing and I’m obsessed! You all make it look so damn effortless.
Hey James! Love the video! I’m 37, suffered an ACL tear in January (still waiting for surgery) and it’s led to me putting weight on and not feeling great! Lost my fitness and the sport I love but this video has given me some inspiration! I want to get fit and join you in that over 40s top 10! Subscribed to watch the journey! Keep it up!
Hey!! Ah that’s amazing that you wanna rock out the top 10 with me, let’s do it!! I’ve heard an ACL tear can be pretty intense, so it’s totally understandable for you not to be feeling great right now. Glad the video gave you some inspiration and I’m hoping you can get that surgery and get back on court asap! Thanks again 😎
@@MyPadelJourneyyeah Im out for 9-12 months post surgery so should be back on court around 39 so going to work hard 😂 going to do some coaching courses to keep my in the sport! Let me know if you’re ever over in Madrid I can hook you up with some good players to play with. Keep up the good work!
Hi James, fellow player at Rocket Ilford here, enjoyed the video and the commentary, and love that you’re doing this! As a dude in his mid 30s I can relate. Excited to watch your progress. Hope to play you some time.
I want to see Jake play seriously. He his so smooth. Cool video. As a fat amn in my late thirties with a new hip, I also just started padel.... love it!
So smooth man, sometimes the tournaments he plays are streamed on YT. If you follow him on IG you will get all the updates for it 😎 awesome that you’ve found Padel and love it!
Ah very cool! Pretty similar to me…played tennis since I was young, found a Padel a couple years back and haven’t played tennis since pretty much 😂 I’ve literally betrayed tennis
Yeah, Jake has an awesome technique and posture and just seems like freewheeling a bit and that he can play a few skill levels higher if he feels like :D
Great video to start the channel, sub +1. Bit on the same level and age, addicted to padel :) Looking forward to the next video's, greetings from Belgium!
Love the video, great analysis of your own game. Shot selection and thus decision making is so key in Padel - I myself sometimes find it hard to be consistent in this area. Any tips other than just reps?
Thanks so much! Yeah i would definitely say...filming really helps. This channel has only come about from me initially filming my game and getting so much out of just seeing how i play. Getting lessons really helps too - plus something like this where i'm able to play a matchplay with Sam and Jake, people at a higher level than you can provide you with great insight along the way - hope that helps, and keep me updated with your journey :)
Fellow leftie here mate....when close to the middle play towards the right corner. It drives right handed players crazy. Vibora is cool and all, but play a flat slow bandeja cross court when not comfortable :)
Earned a subscription from me 👍 similar story. I’m a Brit living in LA. 39 and also lost like 100lbs in the last few years and recently discovered padel out here
Thanks man! Been playing for just over 2 years now…played tennis before hand, more so when I was younger. I feel bad for tennis because as soon as I played Padel, I essentially betrayed it (tennis) 😂…just a superior game in my opinion
I actually haven’t been officially been rated - only possibly played through playtomic 1 or 2 times! Definitely on the agenda to get a rating/level sorted
Hey James great video The editing and the overall video is great My only observation is that you talk about yourself in a downgrading way which is unhealthy For example when you don’t play your vibora low you called it horrendous You got to give your self space for improvement and try to be a bit more like I should work on that instead of calling it bad(even though it was at this situation) There is some Federer/nadal videos talking about self talk during the game which are amazing on that kind of thinking Overall keep up the good work Hope we can have a game at some point if I visit the uk Cheers
Thanks so much for the comment! Really appreciate you taking the time to say what you said too… Yeah I don’t disagree with you in essence based on what you’ve said, maybe if I improve on that it could be something that helps my level of tentativeness in matches maybe? When it comes to myself I am a pretty critical person, I think there is some lack of confidence hidden in there somewhere Thanks for noticing - appreciate it 😊
A defending vibora isn't really a thing, should be a bandeja man. No need te put power; just make sure it's slow and against the glass so you have time to take the net
Thanks for the comment and thoughts man! At a higher level, I personally see a lot of defensive based viboras for sure (I’m not at that level 😂), they are just so good at controlling the pace and spin of the shot. But yeah, 100% see the value in me rocking out some bandejas in order to maintain the net - nice one dude
The video shows every time you played on the back hand of your diagonal opponent your scored or had an easy ball to end the point. However most of the points are not on the back hand ;)
Fantastic 👏🏼🎬 Look forward to seeing more, hopefully get on court with you soon!
Thanks so much man! 100% let’s get something booked up 😎
So relatable and inspiring! Wishing you the best on your journey-keep it up!
Legend! Thanks so much 😊
Unreal mate🤩, always a pleasure💪🫡
Legend dude… appreciate it 😎
Aaaaand another channel / journey that I will be watching. Keep it up padel brother! 🙂
Legend! Thanks so much 😎
No way! I was edge of my seat for that 5-4 point at the tie break!!! Amazing stuff!!
Aha that’s what I wanted to hear! Really awesome 💪🏾
Amazing video man! Very inspiring to see your transformation and loving the your analysis of the game. Would like to see more!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate that - more coming for sure 😎
Keep up the great work, looking forward to seeing the journey! Recently started padel within the last 3 months & I'm addicted now too :)
Ah thank you and awesome that you are seriously into Padel. Such a great game 😎
Loved the video. Cannot wait to see the rest of the journey.
Thank you!! Appreciate you saying that 😎

Ah awesome!! Love this…if you see me down Rocket, then come over and say hello 😎
great vlog, great commentary, great music, new favourite padel channel🎉
Ah thanks so much, really appreciate it 🙂
Here from Austria. I enjoyed your Video. Keep it up! I am also in my 30is, but Padel is still for every age. The best of luck for you 🎉
Hey! That’s awesome - thanks for sharing… it is indeed for every age 😎, been trying to get my 3 year old into it too

Just found this. I remember you from the padel school clinic! Great video James!
Yes man!! I remember you too dude, thank you and hope you are well 😎
great content! love the humor
Thanks so much! Appreciate that 😎
Unreal content!
Massively appreciated - thank you 🙂
Seen a video of you pop up in the padel school community, good on you for still trying to improve every possible way when ur already ranked #200!
Thanks so much…level gap from myself to the top guys is mammoth! Gotta work on it all 😅
Great vlog James 🎾
Thank you dude, appreciate that a lot 💪🏾
Ooh well done James! Paula we met at the padel school Ilford, I’m addicted too!!
Thanks Paula, so addictive isn’t it! Hope to see you with the Padel School guys in the new year 🎾

Awesome! Glad you had an enjoyable time watching it! Yep that’s a completely fair bit of feedback, appreciate you sharing it

Good to see a bit of Garrons park!
Ah yeah! You play down there?
You'd do good to be a little bit positive about yourself mate ;). Nice gameplay, and solid recording. You've got yourself a new sub, keep it up!
Thanks so much man! And yeah I hear ya on the critical self talk, appreciate you mentioning it 👍

great video, like you vibora
Thank you!! Appreciate that a lot 😎
Great video - the music is a bit much though :-)
Thanks! Appreciate you sharing your thoughts too 😎
What level do you play at described in playtomic or Stratford terms?
I actually haven’t been officially been rated - only possibly played through playtomic 1 or 2 times! Definitely on the agenda to get a rating/level sorted

@ it’s not about being critical of yourself it’s about building confidence though speech not tearing yourself down though the speech

Which level is this?
Do you mean level as in what rating?
@@MyPadelJourney Yes please?
We are all super varied tbh, Jake and Sam are GB pros so on the higher end. I haven’t been officially rated yet, but I’m guessing between 4-4.5
@@MyPadelJourneyhi there... are these two guys really pros?
Yeah these guys play for the GB team
The video shows every time you played on the back hand of your diagonal opponent your scored or had an easy ball to end the point.

Yeah this is true although perhaps one of only 2 lefties I’ve played against in the last 6 months 😂
