Young Freddie sounds like a man I know, you know, a friend, a nice guy, a great singer of High School. He's not that powerful, but he really knows how to sing. You would like to make a little band with him. "Old" Freddie sounds like Freddie. A man who can hold the stage with one hand, a man who knows his job, and he's great in it. He cannot be a friend of you, but he could teach, he's a master in what he does.
@@janematthews3394 Both are good, that's sure. It's about the feeling in the voice, you see instantly who is young and who knows the stage. I love both and very few people could reach this level, even if I prefer older Freddie. You see the difference at 0:20 , or at 1:20 : older Freddie exploit more his voice in older stages. And this mustache, please! But the difference is smaller at 3:15. It's feeling, I think!
Wow. Thanks for all the work it took to put this together! This is the perfect illustration of how consistent Freddie Mercury was. Just unheard of. His voice is just so consistent and beautiful and powerful.
This is WONDERFUL, Jelevenn! Had me crying with the pain of loss and connectedness in the midst of feeling joy! WHAT a band and WHAT an INCREDIBLE MAN so many of us miss SO MUCH!! THANK YOU for this!!
Thank you so much for this compilation. Freddie was sheer perfection to sing the songs the same way from when he was young to years later is astounding. There has never been anyone like him . He was a miracle. I am still loving him and thinking about him in 2021. Take your peaceful rest my darling.
Смотрела, как завороженная. 👍💎🌈 Так приятно видеть его живого и всю группу молодых и творческих, умных, прекрасных мужчин!!! 👍🎼Фредди - это человек на века!!!! ♥️🙏😢🌈🎼🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
No? Bohemian Rhapsody was the first song he performed that day so it's not as noticable, but if you pay attention to the concert, you can tell that Roger filled in for him on a few key points and that by the end, his voice was getting quite raw. He was sick? I'm not bashing his performance, he obviously did an amazing job as always, it's just not the only thing I would judge his vocal performance on.
@@emthomas3230 So that's why Radio GaGa, Hammer to Fall and We are the champions are the best versions ever? Literally nothing comes close, not even your ever so loved Montreal concert. @@markandrews7835 Holy shit, dude. Take a breath. Montreal is good, so are a lot of other concerts. If you like Live Aid best, that's fine. Find it interesting when 70’s Freddie had all capability to reach the high notes but had little confidence whereas in the 80’s he really pushed those high notes despite his vocals fitting a lower range by then.
Brilliant Video. The first clip when he sings alone, with no place or date, is one of his later concerts after he knew his Fate. I've always love Freddie and this song, but the later concert clip always rips my heart out, I see his Grief in his eyes...

Gracious sakes! This was so much fun to watch & listen to. Freddie Mercury just had a unique aura about him no matter the year or the costumes. *edit to add - actually all the band was so very awesome. Strong, powerful & worked as a perfect unit. Thank you for posting this.
If you want an objective comparison: it was very interesting because my assumption would have been that there was a big change in the 80s but it was closer than you would expect ie the perception of difference is largely due to other factors like how Freddie looks. However, I would say that Freddie sustained his notes for longer in the 70s on the ballad/operatic parts. Conversely he gained a little something in his voice on the rockier parts by the 80s.
You will not ever ever be forgotten... Your music still lives on until now in our hearts... Thank you FM for your beautiful music. Rest in peace my darling... No more pain.
No actually younger Freddie had a great voice it was the smoking Freddie did and he was insecure in the 70s if it werent for that and his smoking 80s Freddie would be the same
