We would like to clarify the price information about the Coravin system what you can see in the video. We calculated for a complete setup for a restaurant, which includes several gadgets bor both wines and champagnes. A single Coravin system ranges from €129 to €599 (which is their absolute best). Check out their page for more information: www.coravin.com (Thank you for everyone who pointed out the misunderstanding!)
Winemaker here. Former somm too. I just find the Coravin ineffective for keeping wines. Sure, the wine under coravin argon may not be ‘oxidised’ per-se; however wine left under coravin for over x amount of days still lends a wine with dullness
It also seriously takes out the pleasure in enjoying wine I find… sure you get to sample expensive stuff that they might not want to open, but seeing the wine poured into your glass through a needle, I just find it depressing.
yep, i stumbled upon this channel a month or two ago and its utterly fascinating. the history of the places and chefs at the start of each episode are a superb touch. i also like that if these places are not up to par then Alexander has no problem in letting us know. if only every review(er) was this unbiased and unfiltered.
@dingledangle265 this is such a stupid comment. I realise it's just a troll, but, I'll bite as it adds engagement for the RUclips algorithm. They don't review the same content for a start. I enjoy Reviewbrah too, but, he's in the right place on RUclips. I genuinely think Alexander's content could transition well to TV. There is that much of a gulf in production. It wouldn't be hard to keep going but it would start to look like I don't enjoy Reviewbrah.
My god, Alex, how do you find time to enjoy the food? Your direction and editing skills and presentation are first class, worthy of 3 stars . Thank you! .
As a Bangladeshi, I am very delighted to see them respecting our culture. We eat our food with our hands because it is said to create a connection between the food and our soul which makes the food tastes a lot better and so that we handle the food with care.
@@AlexandruHerman Every food doesn't require a fork/spoon/knife and these utensils doesn't make consumption of all types of food easier. Also you can not gauge the temperature or texture of the food with utensils before putting it in your mouth. We didn't have any food in our culture requiring any utensils. Soup or noodles were introduced to us after the development of spice trade and the takeover of the Indian sub-continent by the British. Along with those food, utensils also came into play. But when having our traditional or day to day life dishes we still prefer to eat with our hands. Rice is the main food of our culture and it is just easier for us to mix everything with the rice with our hands. :)
I was visiting Alba for my holidays last year and I passed by this restaurant. Unfortunately I couldn't eat there because I can't afford it but for some reason it stayed in my head. Thanks for giving me a look inside, looks absolutely fenomenal! :)

I loved the new format of the videos showing the amount of the bill spent at the restaurant. Sometimes we miss opportunities to visit beautiful places that would probably come out of the budget. Greetings from Buenos Aires, Argentina
I don't think you can call it underrated, he has only been doing this for 3 months and already has100k subscribers, and only after 5 days up his latest video already has 150k views.
Alexander, amazing presentation. What a high quality video. So many great aspects. Every time I watch one of your videos I love it. If i may give one constructive tip: try different pacings in the video. Like slow, fast, slow, slow, fast, etc. Now its good but monotone and often too fast. Then viewing will become a melody, like music, which will enrich the video by a lot.
I live 20 minutes away from Alba, so I'm especially glad that you enjoyed Piazza Duomo and your time in Piemonte :) Love your channel btw, you really deserve all the best!!
Love your reviews. I just missed a little of the usual energy you have during the intro sequence. I actually find your current intro where you describe your channel in 2 sentences quite charming for newcomers and fans alike. And it gives a good pacing from the start too. Best
This is a great review and I love the way you always show appreciation to the people who attend to you. Also - I never imagined a GLASS of wine costing what I see on your bill at the end. But when I find something nice at the supermarket next time, I'll try to savour it that little bit more.
I was shocked as well but it's not uncommon for him to mention wines that are a couple thousand a bottle and only 3 glasses per bottle it kind of makes sense
Alexander: We went with the tasting menu for 290 euros, and the wine pairing for 300 euros. Me: Oh hey thats not too b- Alexander: Our total came to 2,300 euros
He said he was gonna freestyle it and not go for the wine pairing. I’ve noticed in other videos he often inflates the bill quite substantially with wines and champagnes.
Your videos are by far the best on RUclips when it comes to high end dining. Well well done Alexander, keep the great work up! Would love to share a meal with you one day 😊
Wow. Loved this. I loved how he did use Art to influence his food choices. In any way. That one dessert that looked like a piece of rectangular ceramic Art was amazing. So much time and effort into all of this. Loved too how the environment looked. Like you said, even to how the color of the room matched their ties/pocket squares. Again, an eye for detail. Like your eyes! Great video as always. Thank you!
This is probably the best review ever! Just outstanding in every detail. This is food and presentation on a different level to anything else in the world. Amazing. Thank you se much. Best wishes.
The opening to the menu is just, well, I have never seen anything like that. I'm almost overwhelmed by the sheer number of tasting plates on the table at one time!
yeah, the wines and champagne are always what you have to look for in the stars restaurants. They often have hundreds of different wines and many of them for more than 500 bucks a bottle. Even in one star restaurants. The menu prices are worth it in my opinion because it's an evening you think about even a year later if you don't do it once a week and there's so much work and perfection behind it but it's hard to justify to pay like 1000 bucks for wine which you can buy for 100 bucks outside the restaurant.
What beautiful dishes! I am desperate to try that Andy Warhol inspired dish. Such a contrast between what my eye perceived the texture to be and what was actually revealed by the fork.
I visited Piazza Duomo in 2016 and it was one of the best meals in my life. Well worth the three stars. The one thing I would say is the service is so professional that it becomes a tad static and lacks a personal touch, which is something I usually like. The barolo menu is incredible, obviously when paired with the local wines.
My God… thanks for yet another wonderful presentation. Very informative and although it is early in the morning while watching this I feel like a need a glass of Mouton myself. Cheers !
Hey alexander, i love your channel i am a former 3 michelin star chef and worked and some other lower star rated restaurants. I've noticed on your youtube clips that you always dress with a lot of style. would you consider adding a footnote to your restaurant visits giving reference to your sartorial sources. Thanks
The food and restaurant look stunning. But that said, it did also look like an awful lot of food! Obviously, it depends on portion size, but I find more than 8 or 9 courses starts to get overwhelming (and sometimes a bit of a chore). A 27 course tasting menu is a personal record and it felt like a marathon…(and wasn’t necessarily enjoyable towards the end, much like an actual marathon 😅). On other matters, I’m delighted to see the rapid growth of this channel. The quality of your videos is truly excellent - always delighted to see a new one pop up on my subscriptions feed 👏🏻

What a quick rise to the top! In the brief time you’ve been doing this, you’re already the best restaurant reviewer I’ve seen!
Not to mention he fills up the category that almost nobody ever did before:
A Dedicated 3* Michelin Restaurant food reviewer/critiques
You know many Food Reviewer on RUclips who can afford 2000 euros bills?
Must concur. I never miss an episode.

You really think he directed and edited the videos? Did you hit your head too hard when you were baby ?
Most likely a professional filming and editing team behind.
It's obvious he's doing it so he can take all these trips to restaurants all over the world and class it all as a business expense, its very smart.

I heard the same saying in Indian and Pakistani cuisine when they cook it using their hands as utensiles!
Everyone was eating food with their own hands before the invention of the fork. It's not connection, it's lacking a better tool than your fingers.
Alexander, those were some insane wines I'm so jealous. This was my favorite video of yours yet.
